My HVAC contractor identified a short at an outside junction box, caused by a wayward blackberry branch.  Air conditioning could not be used until it was repaired.  I called Midway, who responded that same day. The repair was a bit tricky because of siding interference and limited play with the wires.  Brian quickly identified and implemented a solution that got the system restored quickly and at a low (fair) price.

Overall the quality of the work was great. The scheduling was sporadic and a lot of deadlines such as "I'll call you this afternoon" were unmet. They also claim to round to nearest quarter of an hour but they certainly billed up--they ended up charging me for time spent on the phone trying to figure out how to process my payment.

Within a couple of weeks time, I had multiple appliances stop working. I called Midway Electric, since I had received excellent service from them on a previous visit. Brian Strickland was sent and was puzzled by the issue. However, he continued to check areas from basement wiring to the appliances to the breaker box. He did find the problem, surprised that the breaker did not break as it should have. At that time he replaced burned wiring and replaced a fuse that should have protected the house from possible fire danger. I felt confident that he has successfully protected my house from future danger with the issues that I had at that time.

Friendly reception to arrange an appointment. Never seemed put out when we had trouble meeting the first day. Called right away the following day. We needed help trouble-shooting the cause of a breaker problem. They diagnosed it quickly and fixed it. I asked them to replace a switch that lacked a box over the wires. They did that and advised they had another 30 minutes remaining in the minimum one hour charge if I wanted something else done, so I had them install an outlet which I had originally believed might be too expensive to bother with. They cleaned up their mess and they were friendly the whole time. This is one of the few instances when I have had work done at my house that I was confident that the work was good, I paid a fair price and I was happy with how I was treated throughout.

He was able to determine that the receiver on the fan was not working and that we had two options, get a new receiver or wire the light to be on all the time. The fan is 10 years old. We will probably just get a new one. Tthe gentleman that came to look at it really spent a lot of time on the fan but only charged us for an hour. We would defintely use them again if the need arose.

They sent somebody out to give us an estimate. They did a really good job as far as doing what they said they would do. They did it for the amount of money they said. A year before, we had a problem and they were willing to come out right then to take care of it. We asked them to wait until the next day and they were adamant that they would come out right then. We thought it was above and beyond. They are nice people to deal with.

The installation went great! The guys were very courteous and conscious of cleaning up and not getting our floor dirty.
The area where they lack is in the responsiveness. I specifically asked to be called a few days before so I could arrange to get off work. They called me the night before at 5:30 pm wanting to come the next day, I told them NO! I then gave them specific days that would work for me. I was told they would get back to me. It took 3 weeks before I heard back from them after many attempts to get an answer.
Also, I had to wait 4 weeks or more before I received the written estimate from Brian. He is awlful at returning calls. I finally got the results and answers I needed when I spoke with Brandon, the owner. He was very responsive and got the ball rolling.
The quality of the work was great! Electricians are very good. It seems thay lack some in the office and estimating area.

When we had a problem with it, they came right back. They were very prompt. We are planning security spotlights put in this summer so we are planning to use them again. Their price was reasonable; it was not something that broke the bank.

We had replaced our garbage disposal several months ago. Then weeks later I realized that the dishwasher wasn't working. (I try to run it once a week or so to keep the seals moist.) My light above the sink had also quit working several months earlier (I suspected a worn out ballast). We bought a new light and a new switch and installed them, but it still wouldn't work. We pulled the dishwasher out and plugged it into a different outlet, and it worked fine. But for the life of us, we couldn't figure out why it wouldn't work in the outlet it had always been plugged into, nor why the new light wouldn't work either.

Midway came out and fixed both problems within about 30 minutes. The new switch we had purchased for the light was the wrong type of switch. I'm still not positive why this affected the dishwasher, only that all three things, garbage disposal, sink light and dishwasher, all were tied into the same main wiring. But, Midway did a great job getting it all figured out and repaired and we now have safe wiring and working appliances and lights!

I think they do a great job on the actual electrical part of their stuff. Their quality of work is good. I would recommend that people use them for their electrical work. I think they do a good job on some other stuff; however, I think they’ve gotten involved in things other than electrical work that I don’t think they are experts on. I would use them again in the future if necessary.

Brian estimated the cost before John and Clayton began the work. I am very pleased with the work that was done and the professionalism with which it was performed. John and Clayton completed the work in about 5 hours and the work cost what Brian estimated that it would cost.

1. Showed up on time, one hour after I called (even though it wasn't an emergency). 2. Pulled the panel cover off. 3. Saw loose breakers / reset breakers. 4. Saw loose live wire, and noticed main breaker was loose. 5. Called city to pull meter. 6. City pulled meter. 7. Electrician tightened everything in the panel. 8. City replaced meter.

The work was done very professionally and they were right on time. They thought it would be finished in one day but it took until the next morning to get everything finished and cleaned up. There were two electricians there and they worked very efficiently all day. I was there all day helping when I could and just keeping an eye on the progress so I would be comfortable with the final product. They were also very flexible when I asked for something to be done in a certain way they had no problems and were accommodating where possible. I can't comment on the price of the service because I have no frame of reference from other companies. To put it in perspective: Two electricians were there on day one for just over 10 hours with 15 minutes break for lunch and on day two for 3 hours. I'm guessing the cost of materials at about 350 dollars that leaves 850 dollars for 26 person hours and company overhead. Without company overhead that is $32 per hour. I think that is a fair price for good work.
