He gave us a bid to do the job for $25,000.00 and said it would take approx. 4 weeks. He started on a Monday, and the whole kitchen and bath were gutted within 2 days. Then the stalling started. He said our entire plumbing needed to be redone and said he would give us an estimate soon. Since we couldn't see the plumbing we didn't know he had already started on it. After he finished the plumbing job, we came home to find that he had pulled all of his tools, taken his work trailer, took his sign out of the yard and walked off the job. After a week, he contacted me and said he had some "issues" and now wanted to come back to work. In the week he was gone, we contacted dozens of contractors, and all said it would be months before they could help us. We reluctantly let Mr. Dodson return to the job. We told him at this point he was not authorized to do anymore unbid work. Five months after he started the job it was finally finished. My husband and I purchased all the cabinets, flooring, drywall, paint, appliances, fixtures (including can lights, etc), trim etc. We also did all the painting ourselves. In December of the same year, Mr. Dodson called me at work and asked if everything was ok. I told him no, that the drywall tape was peeling off the walls in several places, we couldn't turn on some of our lights because he had failed to reinstall the switches and the range top was not level. He said he would check his calendar and get back with me on when to come and fix these issues. He never called me again. Approx. 9 months later he sent us a bill for $35,000.00 additional dollars for more "unbid" work. This man is a fraud, doesn't do quality work, and deliberately underbids jobs to get the contract. I would not recommend him for any job. EVER.
