+ 4 moreFrom the very beginning I felt it was a mistake. He continued to find "problems" that just "had to be fixed." He was full of good excuses and was quite the smooth talker when confronted. He took advantage of a seriously bad personal situation that I had in order to further his own benefit. I was divorcing my carpenter husband of 20 years so most of the other carpenters in town would not work with me. (Yes, it is a very small town.)
Description of Work: He would show up at 10:00 am and quit at 3:00 pm. Some days he would not show up at all. It took him 4 months to complete a project that should have only taken 1 1/2 months at the most. I was married to a carpenter for 20 years so I do know a thing or two about construction. He does not care about the quality of his work. He laid laminate flooring for me and the edges are totally uneven. He does not paint a straight line nor tape off things to get a straight line. He hung a light fixture with two switches, one of which is a dimmer switch. It doesn't work 1/2 the time. The windows he ordered do not match the other windows on the house. They are the wrong style and color. His exterior painting is more sloppy than his interior painting. Learn from my mistake. NEVER sign a contract with this man. When I realized how bad he was, I was under contract and could not get out of it.
