We used to have Cambria countertops in our previous house and loved it, so decided to not only replace the countertops in our new house with Cambria, but also upgrade to their luxury and more expensive line as well. The disappointing part is that StoneTrends didn’t deliver what they promised. They sent out the nesting diagram (the pattern of the veining) and we agreed upon their design. However, when they installed the countertops, the pattern didn’t match the agreed upon design and the veining pattern is jarring and doesn’t flow between the slabs. We tried so hard to have them own their mistake and fix the issue, but nope, they blamed it on the cut, the milling, and everything else. I’ll post the picture I took to show the difference between the design and how the countertops look, you be the judge! We just expected more from Cambria and their “luxury” line.

EXCELLENT SERVICE! Our salesperson was Shelli who could not have been nicer! Very helpful, friendly, & fast to respond. Had a good install with Todd & Dave, they did great with cleanup as well. Did have one quick service call post install with another installer, Tim, who was also good. In a time when good customer service seems impossible in the home improvement industry -my experience with StoneTrends was a welcome one! Very much appreciated their service even after the install -HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

The quartz stone in my kitchen is the most beautiful part of my entire house. However, the installation of the counters was not very good. Two significant mistakes were made during the install. The first mistake was the placement of where the hole for the faucet was drilled. The hole was drilled onsite (which makes the mistake even worse). They drilled the hole too close to the framing of the cabinet. In order to mount the faucet the framing of the cabinet had to cut out, the part of the cabinet that supports the back side of the sink had to be cut to allow the faucet to go in. I just hope I have no issues with this in the future. The picture shows the framing before it had to be cut. The 2nd mistake, there was no silicone adhesive applied to the underside of our breakfast bar top. We had a near miss accident during our first dinner party in our new kitchen. The installers had to come out for a 3rd visit to correct this as well. In the end, the counters are beautiful; but getting there it seemed we were dealing with amateurs.

Stone trends initially installed my fireplace surround completely uneven and it was obvious without a level. Once I contacted them, they did come out and tried fix the issues. Because the hearth was sloped everything was askew. They salvaged all of the existing pieces except the side panels that had to be recut. I was willing to deal with the fact that the new panels did not match because they were from a different slab. Unfortunately my current issue is the heat from my fireplace has caused the top and the side panels to move. The top is sloped down and the sides have popped out slightly from the wall. Another granite installer who has seen my recent issues said that they didn't properly adhere my granite to the wall and that the side panels have rough cut edges. He also said that the panels should have polished edges if it were done correctly. Now I have edges that are starting to chip with this recent movement. I did not contact Stone Trends again because they had two opportunities to install my granite properly. They obviously don't know what they are doing or they don't care. It's just sloppy work and I regret hiring them when there are so many choices for fabricators in our area. The bigger issue is that I paid the stone company, ProSource, and the cost included the fabrication At this point I don't think I have any recourse in terms of the money spent. All of this work was completed 3 months ago and I'm wondering how much worse this will be over time.

Their guy who did the templating for the kitchen showed up as expected and used a laser-based system to map out every nook & cranny of each area.  He spent several hours doing his job and it paid off when the installation went flawlessly.  They were able to install on schedule and we haven't had to call them back for any issues.  Based on the length of a couple of runs it was inevitable that we would have a couple of seams but they are nearly invisible, both to the eye and the touch.  Everything looks gorgeous and we recommend their work without hesitation.
It is worth noting that our parallel project in the master bathroom was subbed to someone who had a more favorable pricing
structure with the granite provider.  What a nightmare that has been.  Their job looked like it was done by a bunch of amateurs when compared to the work StoneTrends did in the kitchen.  We have had them back numerous times to fix their errors and they completely destroyed our timeline for the project.  Consequently, I threw them off our job and all of their work has been ripped out by our GC.  StoneTrends was back to template and install Cambria in our master bathroom.  Even though we had a different installation crew the second time around everything went flawlessly.
These guys do great work!

Our experience with this company was disappointing. I was told that we would need 2 slabs for our job, but were only shown one. Chris said there was no way to see the other slab. I was assured by Chris that pieces that fit together would look like all one piece. After the template was done a picture was emailed to us but colors are not really true on email. I had checked their Facebook page and it is recommended there that after the template is done the customer should go in and check the stone with the template. I asked Chris about it and he said no. No one does that. He would have to get special permission for us to do that. I then told him to tell them to avoid as much of the grey as possible. It never occurred to me to add that the colors should match at the seams. I have attached a picture to show the problem. I do love the granite but have to hide part of it. I must say that the guys who came to install were great. They were friendly, helpful and went right to work.

They did an excellent job and were timely. The salesman was good and sold me good things. When they installed it, it was excellent. I was very pleased with them and their prices were good too.

We used this company based on our remodeler recommendation . Our installers were great Nathan and Adam , they were on time and very professional . There is 3 pieces for our counter and a window sill , the window sill did not fit and 1 of the counter pieces did not fit . The installers told me they needed to take the pieces back to the shop to be recut . A week later they come back and the window sill fits but the counter piece does not , they have to take it back to the shop to recut . Now this is when I think my project manager from the counter company should call me and try to make a apology or something but I ended up calling Chris the project manager to see when the piece would be ready because now my remodel is 2 weeks behind and to see if I get compensated for my tinconveiece and all I got is that they dont do anything for your inconviece and that the piece will be their wed 3-12 14 , not sorry or anything for thier mess up or anything . The 3rd time I have a counter and that is why I gave this company such a low grade
Response from StoneTrends LLC
"As the owner of StoneTrends, LLC, I was quite concerned when I learned of the delay experienced by the [removed member name], and investigated the matter thoroughly before calling Mr. [removed member name] to express my sincere apology. The window sill had been made ½” long to allow for precise sizing at the time of installation. We often take this measure to insure a perfect fit. It is also accurate that a small piece of countertop was incorrectly manufactured twice. After thoroughly researching our production records, we were only able to surmise that it had somehow been positioned slightly out of alignment during the CNC machining process. I expressed my regret that the [removed member name]’s had an unpleasant experience with our Company, and apologized to them. Should they have need of our product in the future, I would be happy to accommodate their request for an adjustment."

On 10/20/11, we visited StoneTrends, picked out our countertops and discussed the job with Project Manager, Lars Presnell. The countertops would be cut and installed and then the backsplashes would be measured and a second trip would be made to install them.

In remodeling our kitchen StoneTrends was one piece of a very large picture. Timing was everything! We hired StoneTrends over
K and D Countertops, who had a very competitive bid, because Lars Presnell, our Project Manager, told us the job could be DONE BY Friday, 11/11/11; it was our anniversary, we had early dinner plans and St Louis Restoration ( I highly recommend), was coming to strip and stain our cabinets on the Monday the 14th. This would complete our kitchen by Thanksgiving.

On Monday, the 7th, I had to call to ask about scheduling. I was again assured the job would be DONE BY the 11th (it was written on our paperwork) and that someone would call for scheduling so I gave them my deposit.

Later that week, one of the ladies in the office called to say they would be out between 3pm and 6pm ON THE 11th, to installed our countertops. We asked if they could come sooner but was told this was the only available time.

This was unacceptable as we had to leave the house early that evening and since the cabinet company would have the kitchen tied up the week of the 14th... we punted and said that we would wait until the 21st, the Monday before Thanksgiving; not completed as soon as we would have like but still being done before the holiday.

The installers, Nathan and Craig came out the morning of the 21st. The installation only took about an hour. They also told me it would only take about 10 minutes to put in the backsplashes. I asked when they would be back with the backsplashes and was told that it wouldn't be this week, they were so busy, everyone wanted their jobs done before Thanksgiving! (or how about the 11th!)
Given that this job was to be completed BY the 11th and it now being the 21st, wouldn't anyone with any common and business sense give it priority and make sure all parts be completed ASAP?

I called Lars and went over all of the above. He said it wasn't their fault ! that the job couldn't be done ON the 11th, that it was written all over our paperwork that the job had to be done BY THE 11th and that everyone who saw it must be laughing about it.
I WAS NOT!

I again reiterated how we explicitly hired them because HE assured us that the job would be DONE by the 11th. I asked Lars to see what he could do about getting the remaining 10 minutes of the job done before the holiday. He said he would check and someone would call to schedule. The next day, Tuesday the 22nd, Rachael called to say they would be out TUESDAY the 29th,
I asked to speak with management.

I spoke with Stephon, the plant manager, who said he understood and to please give him to the next MORNING to talk to the installer, he would call me then. I waited and at NOON on Wednesday, Nov 23rd, I called Stephon. He said he had asked Lars to call, please give him a few minutes. Lars finally called and very unapologetically said the 29th was the best they could do.

Due to of the total lack of integrity of our Project Manager, Lars Presnell, in keeping his word, not advocating our needs with production and scheduling, poor communication and sub quality professionalism and customer service, I DO NOT recommend StoneTrends and in fact discourage anyone from using them!

The installers were ontime and very professional. The counter top itself turned out really nice, wasnt real happy with how they cut out the sink cabinet - it was a little excessive so would suggest people ask prior to installer cutting to ensure exactly what is being cut. Also, the installer left off the hot water shut off valve due to the new sinks depth. They came back out and promptly corrected which took 10 minutes. Suggest doing a complete inspection including all plumbing before installers leave. Overall I was happy with them except for the above mentioned issues.

The sales person was friendly and the price was good. They had a good selection of colors on display and we liked it. They know what they are doing. Countertops were ready to install 9 days after measurements were taken - we were told it would take 10-14 days. Installation was quick. The one seam in the counter is very hard to find.

Overall it went very well. There were a few things that could have been stronger such as one (of the two) installers was not too helpful or patient. Yet the lead installer was great and mostly made up for his assistant. They did some fitting and product cutting onsite, and did not check details with me. One wall fit a bit longer than I discussed with my original salesman. The installers had already adhered it to the wall when I noticed it. Honestly, no major deal overall, it looks great. Nevertheless, it is best to be with installers throughout the install and check things even when you get an impatient one. I did ask for a final lien waiver that never got sent, but everything really fine. I found them to be reliable and trustworthy overall. It is actually a complex process with a real team involved (the Salesperson, the template person who measures your job, the fabricators at Stonetrends, and then the actual install team. So many people required to do the work at Stonetrends. It requires good teamwork and communication or it could be a mess. Stonetrends acted like a good team and did a very nice job for me.

We are extremely happy - the seams are almost invisible and they really made sure that the install is done right. We took a rough drawing into their showroom and they were able to generate a bid from our drawing. We were able to go into their HUGE fabrication building and actually pick out the granite that we liked. They were nice enough to break off a piece of it so we could take it with us to help with decorating choices. About a week before the install they came out with a laser tool mounted on a tripod and hooked to a notebook PC they "shot" the kitchen so that the countertop would fit perfectly (even if the walls weren't straight, etc.). The information that is stored in their computer actually runs their fabrication equiprment. The results are really impressive. The best thing is that their price was significantly better than the big box stores! We are really pleased.

They had to make a return visit to do the backsplash. It did take them a little longer than it should have and the hole for the sink was about 2 inches off center. It wasn't perfect, but they did okay.
