It is worth noting that our parallel project in the master bathroom was subbed to someone who had a more favorable pricing
structure with the granite provider. What a nightmare that has been. Their job looked like it was done by a bunch of amateurs when compared to the work StoneTrends did in the kitchen. We have had them back numerous times to fix their errors and they completely destroyed our timeline for the project. Consequently, I threw them off our job and all of their work has been ripped out by our GC. StoneTrends was back to template and install Cambria in our master bathroom. Even though we had a different installation crew the second time around everything went flawlessly.
These guys do great work!
"As the owner of StoneTrends, LLC, I was quite concerned when I learned of the delay experienced by the [removed member name], and investigated the matter thoroughly before calling Mr. [removed member name] to express my sincere apology. The window sill had been made ½” long to allow for precise sizing at the time of installation. We often take this measure to insure a perfect fit. It is also accurate that a small piece of countertop was incorrectly manufactured twice. After thoroughly researching our production records, we were only able to surmise that it had somehow been positioned slightly out of alignment during the CNC machining process. I expressed my regret that the [removed member name]’s had an unpleasant experience with our Company, and apologized to them. Should they have need of our product in the future, I would be happy to accommodate their request for an adjustment."
In remodeling our kitchen StoneTrends was one piece of a very large picture. Timing was everything! We hired StoneTrends over
K and D Countertops, who had a very competitive bid, because Lars Presnell, our Project Manager, told us the job could be DONE BY Friday, 11/11/11; it was our anniversary, we had early dinner plans and St Louis Restoration ( I highly recommend), was coming to strip and stain our cabinets on the Monday the 14th. This would complete our kitchen by Thanksgiving.
On Monday, the 7th, I had to call to ask about scheduling. I was again assured the job would be DONE BY the 11th (it was written on our paperwork) and that someone would call for scheduling so I gave them my deposit.
Later that week, one of the ladies in the office called to say they would be out between 3pm and 6pm ON THE 11th, to installed our countertops. We asked if they could come sooner but was told this was the only available time.
This was unacceptable as we had to leave the house early that evening and since the cabinet company would have the kitchen tied up the week of the 14th... we punted and said that we would wait until the 21st, the Monday before Thanksgiving; not completed as soon as we would have like but still being done before the holiday.
The installers, Nathan and Craig came out the morning of the 21st. The installation only took about an hour. They also told me it would only take about 10 minutes to put in the backsplashes. I asked when they would be back with the backsplashes and was told that it wouldn't be this week, they were so busy, everyone wanted their jobs done before Thanksgiving! (or how about the 11th!)
Given that this job was to be completed BY the 11th and it now being the 21st, wouldn't anyone with any common and business sense give it priority and make sure all parts be completed ASAP?
I called Lars and went over all of the above. He said it wasn't their fault ! that the job couldn't be done ON the 11th, that it was written all over our paperwork that the job had to be done BY THE 11th and that everyone who saw it must be laughing about it.
I WAS NOT!
I again reiterated how we explicitly hired them because HE assured us that the job would be DONE by the 11th. I asked Lars to see what he could do about getting the remaining 10 minutes of the job done before the holiday. He said he would check and someone would call to schedule. The next day, Tuesday the 22nd, Rachael called to say they would be out TUESDAY the 29th,
I asked to speak with management.
I spoke with Stephon, the plant manager, who said he understood and to please give him to the next MORNING to talk to the installer, he would call me then. I waited and at NOON on Wednesday, Nov 23rd, I called Stephon. He said he had asked Lars to call, please give him a few minutes. Lars finally called and very unapologetically said the 29th was the best they could do.
Due to of the total lack of integrity of our Project Manager, Lars Presnell, in keeping his word, not advocating our needs with production and scheduling, poor communication and sub quality professionalism and customer service, I DO NOT recommend StoneTrends and in fact discourage anyone from using them!
"Although we strive to meet all of our customers’ expectations, we would like to apologize for not having met yours. Thank you for voicing your concerns to us, and please be assured we will always strive to render the highest level of performance for our customers. StoneTrends LLC"
