Went in after my retina specialist said that I had a cataract on my eye that needed to be removed. I was told my copay was $20 and I would not have to pay anything else that insurance would cover. As soon as I walked into the door they demanded my credit card and charged my copay without allowing me to read the financial forms prior to the charge. Once I read the forms it indicated that they could at their whim charge my credit card for any unpaid charges. When I saw the doctor for the cataract that was referred to the office to get removed. I was told he wanted me to see their retina specialist for the same test my other retina specialist ( a world renown doctor at a top university) so that he could see if I could be approved for the surgery. When I objected he pushed my like a used car salesmen to allow the their retina specialist. I continued to refuse. He was agitated the moment I did not buy his line of bull. When I set up the appointment I told them they needed to order the records and I emailed my retina specialist with the consent. They never followed through. So the whole appointment was a waste of time. They herd them in their like Cattle. They will literally say anything to get you to agree. I asked for a copy of what I signed Conveniently they left out the financial form. Luckily I took a picture of where I said I did not authorize them to charge my credit card any additional costs. I then learned even though I had no consult because they hadn't received my records they were still going to charge me for a consult. I am also filing a claim with the Better Business Bureau and on their medical license for their shady practices. I also declined to have my records from Pepose put online and they did that anyway too. I would not take my cocker spaniel in the place. I never did get a cost estimate for the procedure from them which was one of my objectives in setting the appointment so I could plan financially. All the doctor kept saying was money is not the point here it is the best medical care. I have to pay the bill so yes money is a factor. I ended up calling BJC Washington University for a cost estimate.. They took my insurance information and gave me an estimate for a cataract removal where there was a prior retina detachment and gave me a quote. Before I even went in the office Which is required under the law the president Trump signed. Pepose is like a used car sales place. Run as fast as you can. Worst Doctors office I have ever been to. RUN save yourself the hassle.

Excellent service. They explain everything and they walk you through the process, and they have state of the art equipment. When I had my retina surgery, i got accross with this couple and they were from New York, and they came all the way to Chesterfield just to get treated by Dr. Pepose.

As a former employee i am warning you to never go to pepose vision!!! All he does is con people into more expensive procedures that they do not need so he can collect money. He is not in the best interest of the patients at all! They way over book and have little employees. Wait times are ridiculous be ready to spend your whole day here for a 15 min appointment. He also has "VIP" patients which are usually really wealthy people and they are not suppose to wait long at all, cutting in front of all the other people who have been waiting forever, and are schedule before these "VIP" patients. Makes you wonder what is more important to him. Such a shame that people put their health care trust is a doctor when all he cares about is the money.

1994 - Vision was vastly improved.  No more coke bottle glasses for me.  Now just light, slightly corrective glasses.  My vision was improved from 20/450 to about 20/40.  A vast improvement.
2016 - Noticed some double vision and cloudiness so I went to the free consultation.  Discovered I had cataracts in both eyes.  Just had first surgery on my right eye.  The results are amazing.  My old vision looked "normal" to me.  Only new, with one eye cataract free, can I actually see the difference.  Things are brighter, clearer, and more colorful.  I TRULY did not know what I wasn't seeing. I am eagerly anticipating getting my left eye done.  Thank you Dr. Pepose.

I have been going to Dr. Qazi since I moved to St. Louis six years ago. I have a long history of dry eye syndrome, corneal abrasions, infections and other eye related issues. He took the time to figure out exactly what to do and, because Dr. Qazi and Pepose Vision Institute stay on top of the latest medical breakthroughs, I was given treatments that would not have been possible with other ophthalmologists. I just had a six-month "healthy eye" checkup (the longest I've gone in years) and passed with flying colors. I would highly recommend Dr. Qazi and Pepose Vision Institute.

I can see without glasses for the first time since second grade. Worth every penny. Dr Pepose is very easy to deal with and is technically amazing in the OR. No pain-no shots-no stitches. This is a world class practice. I would recommend to anyone needingfirst class vision services. He also handled my husbands cataracts with excellent results.

Excellent examination by doctors. Checked all aspects of my eyes.

I was prescribed eye drops, and when I ran out of the eye drops I went to my pharmacy to get a refill. They never filled the prescription and they haven't responded to my pharmacy. Additionally their phone system is very frustrating and difficult to navigate to get to the correct person.

, I love being "glass-free". I live a very active life ( daily swimmer, tennis on weekends, runner and gardener). I also enjoy snorkeling on vacations. As a librarian I am also an avid reader. I appreciate not being tethered to glasses. While the procedures (Lasik and corneal replacement) are not cheap, I would hesitate to try to save money while gambling on my eyesight..
They do not promise miracles that can not be delivered and warned that I may have to use reading glasses. I did use reading glasses for a couple years before the last surgery, but now I do not require them.
I appreciated the follow-up care and would recommend him to friends and relatives.

I used them a year ago. They are the best around. They are knowledgeable, professional. They are prompt. They give you updates and direction. They are very good at what they do.

Dr. Pepose came across as very condescending and spoke so quietly it was difficult to even hear him.  His office is newer but the exam rooms were freezing cold and looked worn out.  His surgical prices are astronomical!  I don't care if he is a leader in his field his prices are down right ridiculous.  For comparable service in the greater St. Louis area he is nearly 50% higher than everyone else.  I guess they have to pay for that office building somehow.  I would not recommend him.

The entire process from consultation through surgery and beyond was very easy and efficient. The surgery itself was explained in detail so that we knew what to expect on the day of our appointment. My husband and I both had eye surgery on the same day and we were in and out of the office in under 1 hour. The follow-up appointment was the following morning and our vision was already corrected by that time. The staff is very professional and experienced - they are able to get the job done correctly and quickly. We are both happy to be rid of contacts and eyeglasses!

During my appointment, I only met with what seemed to be an intake specialist. He did a quick read of my current vision, and measured my cornea thickness. This seemed rather quick and wasn't as through as many of the other offices I visited. I later learned that after this initial appointment, you go back for another appointment with the Dr. to do the in depth evaluation. Afterwards, this intake specialist laid out pricing and potential options for surgery, but couldn't give me any details, because that would all be up to the doctor which I would have to come back at another time to see.
Overall, this seemed to be inefficient and a waste of patient's time. I had a referral from my eye doctor, and this appointment didn't tell me anything I hadn't already heard from my eye doctor. I found the entire appointment to be very impersonal, and the services very expensive compared to others in the area.
Eventually I chose to have my surgery done at LasikPlus with Dr. Alban. It had the personalized experience I was looking for with great results.

They did it on my eyes and I haven't had a problem since then. It turned out perfectly. He is kind of famous for being a leader in his field.

I had Lasik surgery in 2000 in Atlanta and follow up care was done at Pepose here in St. Louis. I met Dr Pepose in 2000 and for several years he checked the Lasik surgery - I had no problems.
Since then I have a yearly eye exam at Pepose with other doctors at the institute; the institute is professional and the eye care is excellent. A few years ago there was concern about high blood pressure in my eyes and Dr Pepose ran special tests and no problems were detected - and none today.
I plan to use Pepose for the foreseeable future since I really trust Dr Pepose and the institute.

I first consulted Dr. Pepose for a severe dry eye problem. Continued under his care for cataract surgery and general eye care. The Pepose Institute has it all, and the staff is highly professional, and kind. As part of my ongoing vision care I consulted Dr. Redfern (a member of the Institute staff) for vision correction and she provided me with a very good solution to my problem of needing different focal ranges because of my age.

I have been going to Pepose Vision since my lasik 4 years ago. Staff is friendly. I drive 45 miles to the clinic and they always try to get my testing and vision exams done in the same day so I don't have to make two trips. All the Dr's I have seen have been professional.
