They looked at a property I wanted to rehab/remodel and flip it or get it ready as a rental. It's a duplex with an apartment upstairs and an apartment downstairs. One of the units was livable and in much better shape than the other. After assessing the property they informed me they wanted to be partners and that they would only take money if we made a profit. I have multiple jobs and couldn't go to the property on a regular basis to check the status of the work they were doing so they were texting me photos regularly of the repairs/rehab they were claiming to have done and asking for the money for the work they had completed. After giving them $7,000 I finally had some time to visit the property to check the progress and nothing had been done. Nothing they were claiming to have done to the property was actually done. They were actually sending pictures of the livable unit that was in better shape. I contacted them and they were saying things like "I know you can't visually see the work that we've done but I assure you we have done what we said." We continued to communicate with each other and I wanted to know what he was doing with my money since nothing was getting done. I told him I want my money back. He kept promising me he would do the work but that he already paid the money to his sub-contractors and he couldn't get it back to money. He actually told me to stop asking for my money back because I wasn't going to get it. I've contacted lawyers but they want money first and I would like to settle this without spending additional money. I've spent $7000 and there has been no work done on my property. I've been swindled out of a lot. And now there are thieves breaking into the property and stealing tiles a vandalizing the place.
Description of Work: I hired H & H to rehabilitate and remodel a duplex property I purchased and wanted to fix up to flip or develop as a rental property.
