1. The bid was competitive and fair for the amount of work and materials.
2. The landscaping team worked hard and were friendly and professional during the initial installation process.
3. The deck removal was quick and efficient.
4. The stone retaining wall was very well designed and solid.
5. The paver patio looked great.
Now for the negatives:
1. I received a citation from St. Louis County for not having a building permit. I asked Dustin about this before I signed the contract and he assured me this would not be a problem. When I called the county, this had not been taken care of by Final Touch by the deadline, but I was told by Dustin that is was being taken care of. This went on for many weeks. I honestly don't know if it ever was resolved. The last time I spoke to Dustin about the issue, he said they were sending an engineer to look at the project, but I never saw this happen.
2. The wrong stones were ordered for the garden steps/landing. Luckily, I was able to catch this as they were being installed. The stones were replaced with the correct ones, but only because I caught the mistake before the job was too far along.
3. I have called Final Touch several times over the past year to try to get the side yard repaired from the damage that the Bobcat did to the side of my yard (compacted soil, destroyed grass, made ruts in my/my neighbors yard). I told Dustin exactly what I wanted to repair the damage (soil cultivation, addition of topsoil to level the slope, and grass seed with no straw. There was no sod available at the time due to the weather situation. Two workers were sent to my home to put down a minimum of soil, seed and straw. Even though I kept it well watered, the seed did not germinate. This was the second time seed had been used.
4. When I called the last time, Dustin told me he had over 20 projects lined up and did not have the time to repair my yard.
5. Bottom line is that I keep getting ignored. I have had at least three people ask me and quot;What happened to your yard?and quot;
6. The name of this company is Final Touch. They still need to put the final touch on my yard and repair the damage.
L atest Update:
1. Dustin and Scott came out to look at the side yard on October 16 and agreed that it needed work done. They basically stripped out a large portion of the side yard and assured me they were going to put sod down in the next week. Today is November 9 and I still have not had any sod delivered. A large part of my side yard is just dirt/mud now. Winter is quickly approaching and my yard is in worse shape than it was on October 16. I may just have to get another landscaper to get the job done. I am so sick and tired of trying to get this company to respond.
Bottom Line:
Final Touch gave me a fair estimate and did a great job of building the wall and paver patio. They get an and quot;Fand quot; from me for not responding to my calls and continuing to give me the run around on repairing the damaged yard. Once they got the final payment, they were done with customer satisfaction!
