Rentals - Cars
Prepaid a 4-day car rental for $245. This included $177 for the car and $68 for taxes and other charges. Returned the car at the San Fransisco air[port undamaged, with a full tank of gas, and on time. When received receipt, had added an additional $78 on top of the agreed upon prepaid amount for a total charge of $323. $68 of this additional amount was for loss damage waiver, which I had refused at the counter. When contacted, Budget refused to remove the additional $78 claiming I had a valid contract. I think it is unethical to charge an additional 82% premium over the base car for incidentals and deceitful to charge me for services that I did not request. I want to warn others so that they do not fall into the same trap.
