Hacker Plumbing & Heating

I had them come out to replace my toilet and repair my toilet flange. I bought the toilet and they provided the flange. First visit, a young guy came out and was nice however once he was done my toilet was leaking very bad from the base. I had them come out a second time (this time a more experienced plumber came out) to repair it again and this time they repaired with a better flange and did install a shut off valve, which was much needed. Communication and pricing is the biggest disappointment with this company. Hard to get a hold of and hard to schedule. I assumed this project would cost around $150 to maybe $200, once i got the bill 2 months later it was $317.18. I believe this was pretty high for the services that i received. I would probably hire them again however discuss pricing first before they perform the work so you don't get a big surprise at the end.

Hacker was originally brought onto our project by the contractor at the time. Their services were needed for a 2 part project. They completed the first part, but now they won’t even return a phone call to discuss completion of the project. It will be a challenge for us to find someone to take over the work initially started by someone else. They were immediately paid in full for their initial work. Extremely disappointing and unprofessional!

They did not return my intial after hours emergency phone call. I had to call back. The first technician did not even acknowledge the display panel with the code indicating the problem. I asked about it and he said that wasn't the problem. He had to return 2 more times that week. By Friday I had to call again after hours and had another technician check it out. He did the same as the first technician and I had to call again for him to return on Saturday. He finally determined it was what the code had been indicating all along. But now I had to wait til they could order the part on Monday. Finally they were able to fix my water heater but it took a week and a half, when it should have only taken a few days, Then came the bill with an outrageous labor fee because of all the times they had to come back. If they would have just looked at the code and checked that out intially instead of just trying one thing and having to repeatedly come back this would have been a decent experience. After I got the bill I requested to speak to someone about it. They only had one technician call me..he said he would pass the info along to the supervisor and that he would probably call me. That did not happen. I asked the office personel to have someone call. They were rude and I still never received a call. I asked again when I sent in payment and still no call. Here I am nearly a year later and still trying to pay off the bill and I still have not received a call.

WILL NOT USE ANOTHER PLUMBER!!! Only time in have every been so wrong about guessing price and loved it. Had 2 toilets fixed at my house. One was clogged and a plunger wouldn't do it. And the other was leaking around seal. Barely charged more than what some charge just to come out. So grateful I gave these guys a try despite their name haha. I will most certainly use again.

Installation for both went very well. Moved the water heater down a bit out of the way, and reinforced sewer pipe so won't break again after fixed it.

Joe was very responsive, was able to come out quickly each time, and he was very good about following up to check in with me to see if what he did worked, and when it didn't, he was quick to come back out again and to continue troubleshooting.  For all the effort he put in, including driving time and labor, I was impressed with the end out-of-pocket.  I will definitely be calling Hacker Plumbing for any future plumbing issues!

the plumber was very professional and extremely concerned with just not doing a good job but an excellent one. Joe had to do some additional things, of which he was not aware of when installation began, but saw that they would be necessary to have an installation that would head off problems in the future.   I was very pleased with him and the overall installation

Established business in cape girardeau for years. have 24 hr service. here on time cleaned filter area, checked fan speed, removed debris from outside unit, wore booties.

They were very good. The price was not near as much as what I thought it was going to be. The service was excellent. It was very good service and very good price.

I don't remember specifics of the last visit. I've called him six or eight times in 15 years and feel the service is always courteous, knowledgeable, professional. I can't think of any negatives.

They were very responsive, coming out the very next day after I called. The two servicemen were very friendly and efficient and answered all my questions fully and without seeming annoyed or bothered. I mention that because I have an older home built in 1905 and there are ALWAYS other little projects or ideas I'm working on so when I have experts over I like to pick their brains. Sometimes this seems to irritate certain servicemen, but not Hacker. They were friendly, informative and patient.
This clog/overflow problem has happened before and I've had several different companies out to look at it. While the pressing issue always gets resolved (the clog/overflow), the root cause had yet to be identified. Well, I think Hacker has finally figured out the problem! As mentioned, my house is vintage and as such has Frankenstein pipes- you can practically trace the home's history through the variety and type of piping from cast iron and terra cotta to pvc. Hacker identified a place where some newer pvc pipe was added to replace older pipe and was likely not shaved down enough to fit flush, leaving a lip jutting into the flow- which then snags the toilet paper and waste on its way to the sewer- effectively creating a big ball of grossness that then backs up and overflows. I was delighted to hear this! Not about the ball of grossness, but that there was a viable solution to this recurring problem. The Hacker guys even gave me a rough estimate of what it might cost to fix it. That was great for me- another piece to the puzzle of this house- and it was also a good practice for the company- building relationships with customers makes them likely to return for service.
All in all, I thought the service was efficient, my problem was resolved (with a one-year guarantee!), the servicemen were friendly, polite and even funny and they even spent extra time chatting about other plumbing issues and ideas with me. The price was also reasonable. I would definitely recommend them and plan to use them again myself.

super fast response and very professional. he had an a drill that allowed him to replace the line underground without tearing up the yard. he called it a mole if i remember correctly. no one else i contacted had such a tool or bid the job at such a reasonable price. not even close. i can't say enough good things about this outfit. they will be the first ones i call from now on. thanks again guys!!!

The crew from Hacker made quick, efficient work of the project and all was well with our 107 year old house plumbing after the left. The guys are easy to work with and provide reliable work. Once they had all of the equipment and materials for the project it was completed in 1-1/2 days and we were never left without hot water or unusable plumbing fixtures.

My basement ceiling is drywall and I had a leak coming from an upstairs bathroom. I expected, based on a prior awful plumbing experience, that it would cost around $600. Hacker Plumbing fixed my problem promptly and at a reasonable price.

They were prompt in responding to our needs and very efficient in their

professional in their housekeeping and not leaving anything behind for
us to clean up. They also were efficient in education on the unit and
warranty. Will be using them for plumbing in the future.

Called around 7:30am, got a call back around 8:45 and the service person was at my door around 9am. The rep diagnosed a bad control board. He had to go get a replacement. He installed the replacement and my furnace was working again by 10:30am. I was really glad since we are having some of the coldest weather of the season in my area right now. Wonderful responsiveness and great service. Highly recommended.
