Around 1:00 pm on Wednesday, April 15, 2015, my husband and I were at the point of accepting their price counter-offer when the salesman (Austin) told us for the first time about a $98 "administrative fee". We told him we needed to think about it since we were not anticipating the additional charge and we had already come up on price to meet their counter-offer. He contacted both my husband and I multiple times later that day to see if we were going to buy. That afternoon I noticed that I did not have my wallet. We searched our vehicles and our house. When I still couldn't find it by the next morning, my husband drove back to the dealership at 9:30 am to look for it. The sales staff was in a meeting, but the secretary found it in the salesperson's desk. Later that day the salesman called to see if we wanted to buy the car. We let him know that we were no longer interested. Any person who would knowingly keep a wallet that was clearly identifiable is not someone I want to do business with, much less someone who contacted me multiple times while having my wallet yet failed to mention it to me in numerous text and phone conversations.
I did not post this review right away, because we wanted to speak to the salesperson's supervisor before we posted a poor review of the dealership. However, my husband talked to the sales manager, Chuck, today and Chuck defended every action that the salesman took (actually didn't take!) in the incident with my wallet. He also said he knew that the salesperson had my wallet at 6:00 pm on Wednesday although the salesperson told us that the salesperson hadn't found it until Thursday morning. He also acknowledged that salespeople are trained to not reveal the "administrative fee" to customers upfront. He said they shouldn't wait until papers are being signed, but that the "administrative fee" might make customers not want to shop with them, so salespeople shouldn't reveal the existence of the fee upfront.
