They were able to come the next morning after our initial call. Replaced both springs, did some adjustments and lubricated everything. Even lubricated the other garage door. Also very helpful with information on when and how to lubricate doors to make them last longer. Very pleased!

We had many problems, i.e., door off tracks, random door openings, one door is badly dented on the inside, cedar is popped, we had to pay to restain shortly after moving in (stain was probably builder's responsibility). We had to purchase an app for our phones to ensure garage door stayed closed. Apparently technology is such that random door openings shouldn't happen; but, they were. We still have error messages on our doors?? It is our opinion this company is more concerned with their relationship with builders than making sure person actually paying the bills is taken care of. However, we understand as they want to continue working with builders and the customer's warranty will eventually expire (as I said, our opinion). We should never have gone with cedar doors.

Excellently. I had American Home Shield, who covered all but the $75.00 service fee. They came in a few hourse, fixed it easily, carefully, and installed the safety cables I bought.

I had a new insulated garage door installed in my studio/garage and the work done was professional, clean and really fast! Even though the size we needed was a little odd, their professionalism and creativity insured that I have a door that is truly sealed from anything bigger than an ant and, thus, will save me much money in winter and summer!
Really enjoyed the worker and am glad that Bob from Tuff Shed hired them for us! They are going to get my business in the future based on this one time experience, and it was their style that makes that so. They treated me like someone who actually knew what was involved, even though I was kind of clueless!
A+ for service, professionalism and cleanliness! Use them and they will work hard for you, too!!!

They did a good job and it was quick. The price was good. I had set-up an appointment with them in the morning, and they didn’t show up. I contacted them and one of the workers had to go to the hospital, but they did get to me later that afternoon. I would have liked to have been called to inform me that there was going to be a delay. He got the job done in about 30 minutes. David the technician was very polite and cordial.

This was a fast turnaround project -- we needed new garage doors fast that would work with our new concrete garage floor. Joe (the owner) met with us on Saturday to review the project. The biggest issue was adding a garage door opener to one side of the garage that had a lower ceiling (lower clearance). There had never been an opener on that particular garage door, as everyone we had talked to over the years had said it was not possible to install in low clearance area). Prior to installation, Joe came up with an option (a side-mount opener) if the overhead opener would not fit in that lower clearance area.
Joe was able to schedule us for that following Monday, 8/26 and his crew came in the afternoon. They installed two new insulated steel garage doors and two overhead door openers. Working carefully, they were able to put the overhead opener in the low clearance area. His crew were professional and courteous, doing the work efficiently. They removed the old doors and rails, and installed the new equipment in 3 hours. They cleaned up all the bits and pieces, helped me program the opener remotes and the external keypad.
You can buy garage doors and openers for less money, and maybe find someone to install them for you. We chose BOD because they are experts, could give us a great product in a really short timeframe, and they stand behind their work. Joe provided an accurate estimate prior to the work, they completed the work on time as promised, and met our need for great results in a short time.

The technician came within two days of our phone call, diagnosed the issues, repaired everything quickly and efficiently. He was professional and helpful and offered to fix little things that we hadn't thought to ask about. Both garage doors and our code box work perfectly. I am very pleased.

I live a house about 100 years old. This company installed the automatic overhead door about 20 years ago. They came out and 0put a new motor because it was struggling to raise the door. Last June I tried to open the garage door via the remote. When I pressed the button I heard a strange noise and it only rainsed about 3-4 inches. I tried to manually open it but I could not open it. I had the technician come out and he said that he could reattach the door. He said it needed to be repaired and I had to wait until after the 4th of July to get the part shipped in. They came oout and installed the door successfully. When he was leaving he knocked my awning. I saw this from the window and came out to look. I also spoke with the owner. I spoke with my awning company and they came out a restitched it up. The door seemed fine. At one point they needed to come out and fix the sensors which I paid for. The overhead door company says they are not going to pay for the awning that they damaged which amounts to $290. The person from the awning company called Builders Overhead Door they sdaid that they have never done any business for me. This happened several times and kept saying they had no record of my name or address.
Response from Builders Overhead Door
"On 7/6/11 we put in new door. States we did damage then. No complaint made. On 12/9/11 did service, nothing mentioned. On 1/10/12 talked to awning company, and I told them we didn't authorize service. She was the one that hired them."

Doors installed by an obviously inexperienced serviceman, Randy Jr. He obtained help that day from another serviceman. Took all day. Doors not installed properly. Air/light coming through several places. Several service calls, could not fix. Second serviceman said he always has to fix first serviceman's install problems. Entire frame of both garage doors had to have all nails removed and replaced because they were put in so poorly and looked so unsightly. The second service man said 'if this were my house, this is how I would do it' and made it look much better. They sent the wrong color trim and had to be ordered. One full garage door panel replaced, but problems continue with air/light leaks. I called the salesman Roger around Feb/Mar 3 times on his cell, he denied receiving messages and yelled at me per phone; when I told him I left a msg each time, he yelled 'YOU DID NOT'. Another attempt made to fix, unsuccessful. Called another service company who worked on the west door; seems to be fixed ($65 even though under warranty, they have not reimbursed). We found a piece of cardboard stuck in a hinge where the air/light was the worst. Appeared to be put there to shim up the door closer to the frame. (We saw this and said 'Are you kidding??') We still have this cardboard. Air and light still come through one door. Additional problems: they promised to reimburse for wires clipped on lawn sprinkler transformer by Randy Jr ($25) while installing and did not reimburse; one garage door opener remote does not work properly; door goes up on own when we're not here. Letter sent to owner, Joe Horovko, asking him to come out to discuss all the problems; no response. I even attached a piece of the cardboard found in the hinge. When I called today to ask for the date that I first noticed the problems (immediately after install) so I could file a BBB report, the call was transferred to Randy Sr, manager, and Joe Horovko, the owner, who put me on speaker phone. Mr. Horovko raised his voice at me on the speaker phone, saying he had bent over backwards for us and would not come out to see the problems, began to try to argue with me, his loud voice escalating, and he refused to give me simply the information that I requested from him which was the first date of service/repair after installation. I told him I did not call to argue, just to get the service dates and he said very snidley: You know the dates of service. I began to shake, he continued on ranting and I refused to listen and so I terminated the call. How can any company treat a customer this way?

"We have been out three different times, 1-10-11, 3-23-11, 4-27-11. We changed stop mold, sections. There is nothing wrong with doors. Haven't heard from her in 8 months. Now she wants money back. We are done."

Extremely well. The gentleman that did the actual work was extrememly professional, knowledgable, and friendly. He went to great lengths to make sure we completely understood had to operate all aspects of the new opener, specifically including the remote keypads, the multi-function pad attached to the garage wall and the opener attached outside of the garage.

The serviceman was courteous, friendly and efficient. He quickly diagnosed my problem, replaced the broken parts, and checked the rest of the garage door opener. He suggested a couple of minor changes which cost very little extra, while I was anticipating replacing a much costlier part. Finally, he gave me a discounted price for a special which I was not aware of.

They came pretty quickly, within a day or two. They did the job and we haven't had any problems since the repair. I would say the price was reasonable, too.

It went very well. they removed the old doors and replaced them with lighter steel doors. They also hauled off the old wooden doors. They also cleaned up the work site.

They took time to show me how to maintain the openers and to oil, and such. They left the manual with me. They are very professional and qualified for the job.

I was very pleased with this company all the way around. Very quick to react to quoting. Received written estimate and detailed explanation of all services to be performed. Doors came in 1 week later than first though, but well worth waiting for. Installation and haul away very clean. Received 3 follow up calls after work was done to be sure of satisfaction, and also that if any thing showed up at a later date it would be taken care of. Good experience.

Company provided estimate, requested deposit, and scheduled installation of new steel doors. Company later called to reschedule installation, but ultimately kept original appointment at my request. Installer arrived as scheduled and performed work as promised. Installation took longer than anticipated due to problems balancing one door. Installer worked to resolve problem long beyond when other contractors might have called it a day and let the door remain slightly unbalanced.

After our garage door was installed, a wind storm damaged the door less than a month later. Builder's Overhead Door would do nothing to compensate for this damage even though the door had a lifetime warranty. Upon contacting the company, we were disappointed to find phone calls avoided and messages unreturned. Corporate offices were contacted, but still did not stand behind their product and no compensation was provided. Love the door, but watch out for the warranty.

The rep was Jon Shaw. He did a great job explaining what needed to be done and the pricing. Set up the appointment for two days later. They sent a crew of 2 who knew exactly what they were doing. Installed the doors, weather striping and openers in just hours, cleaned up and hauled off the old stuff. Very pleased.
