This company is simply a RIP OFF, they lure you with $99 diagnostic fee, then they rip you off when it comes to repair. My oven needed an igniter, and I ended up installing it in 15 minutes, but they wanted over $600 to replace it (all but 10 minutes), and they wanted $1600 to replace all three igniters, No ethics or busines integrity what so ever, the manager said they go by their book and refused to speak honestly or use common sense. $600 for an oven that was left open to install the new igniter. Shame on them. Stay away and consider any handy man over this scam and no business integrity. and I thought in dealing with a company out of Butler, they would have small town values and integrity. NOPE.
Response from The Appliance Care Co LLC
"Thank you for the review. We appreciate all feedback, even when we disagree with the characterization of our service. Our pricing is transparent and based on industry standards, including labor, parts, and the expertise of our expert technicians. In this case, our master technician provided a detailed diagnosis of your high-end Viking range and offered two repair options: one using aftermarket igniters and another with more costly OEM Viking parts. These options were clearly outlined, and you declined both. While we understand that some customers may choose to handle repairs themselves, professional appliance repair involves more than just part replacement—it includes expert diagnosis, warranty coverage, liability protection, and ensuring the longevity of your appliance. We stand by our pricing and service and regret that you feel otherwise. Nonetheless, we appreciate the opportunity to have assessed your range and provided you with the information needed to make an informed decision. If you have any further concerns, we are always happy to discuss them directly."

Tim was very knowledgeable, polite, punctual and professional. Even though the service involved three trips because of parts needing to be ordered, I still think he did a good job getting my microwave that was not working fixed. There was not a long wait time for getting parts in, which I appreciated. When he was done, I understood more about how the microwave works. I debated on whether to buy a new microwave rather than repair it, but the online reviews, even the best rated microwaves, were not very favorable. Hopefully the microwave will last a few more years beyond companies 90 day warranty period.

My dishwasher stopped working. I called and they set a fast appointment. I will give them that. The technician came out and diagnosed that I was having an electrical issue with the power coming into the dishwasher. Said that an electrician needed to fix it because it wasn't getting enough amps/volts to power the dishwasher It was $185 for an electrician to see that the plug had been dislodged and that was the entire reason that it did not have power. So, when I called, my question to the appliance company were: • Why didn’t you not check the plug as part of a routine step in troubleshooting a power loss issue? • Why would you tell me there was an electrical issue (which was not true) since the power supply was fine. • Where did you test the electric power? Was it at the outlet (which was fine)? • if you checked the outlet, you could have clearly seen the plug was dislodged, right? The answer from them was we look at machines, we don't do anything above and beyond that. When we see that it doesn't have power, that is the extent of our obligation and they did their job by telling me, it is not getting power. He then said they are not electricians, they only fix appliances. Really? Then why did you make an electrical diagnosis? They told me that there had to be something wrong with the line, even wrote amp/volt readings on the invoice. you just happened to be 100% WRONG. I was then told that this was one of their certified master technicians. The worst part of it was the customer service after the fact. The guy started to basically tell me how they did their job and I didn't understand his industry or how the repair tech world works. He even said that the cord was an electrical element and wasn't part of the dishwasher, but you checked the power anyway? He said, we told you it didn't have power, isn't that an accurate diagnosis. No, I asked you to tell me what was wrong with the dishwasher and what you told me was a bad diagnosis. Then he said if I wasn't happy with the work, I should have looked on youtube and tried to fix it myself. My point is you were wrong, you told me something that wasn't true and it cost me more money. I generally feel that it is a bit of laziness to not even check the plug when it doesn't have power. I think it is dishonest to say it is not their problem to figure out why it doesn't have power, because that is exactly what you did and were wrong in your conclusion. I trusted what you told me, and what you diagnosed about the power line. The reality is I feel like they overlooked or didn’t bother to do something simple in checking and according to the company, that wasn't their problem to solve.

"The complaint on the ticket says; "the control panel is not working, no lights, not responding to anything." Just to clarify we are an appliance repair service company. We are not electricians, plumbers, carpenters, or heating and cooling techs. We specialize in one thing and that is appliances. Our tech removed the lower front panel to the dishwasher and then he removed the power cord junction box to confirm if 120 volts was being delivered to this dishwasher. Our tech quickly discovered this dishwasher was only receiving "8" volts from the customer's house. Our tech examined the outlet and, once it was determined no power was present, left the dishwasher unplugged. At that point our tech informed the customer he needed an electrician. Our service call diagnostic fee was only $95. Our service call diagnostic fee includes us coming to the home, diagnosing the appliance, letting the customer know exactly what is wrong with it, repair options, if there are any options. And we'll let the customer know if the appliance is worth repairing or not. We completed all of these tasks. This customer is upset that he called us, then called an electrician and found out it was something simple he could have corrected himself. We are not licensed electricians. We are not authorized by city, state or counties to perform electrical repairs inside customers’ homes. We can work on the appliance but we cannot go further into electrical repair work. We tried to explain these rules to this customer, but he doesn't understand. As a result of being honest and delivering the correct information, we receive a one-star review. It is also noteworthy to point out that we delivered accurate diagnostics and whoever he called as an electrician was able to correct the issue and the dishwasher is now back on and working. If you reread his review, you will see that he is not being honest. There is nothing in his review that says that there was an actual failure with his dishwasher and we missed the diagnosis. We were spot-on."

Tried twice to fix the problem. Failed both time. First time due to faulty diagnosis. Second time due to faulty equipment. Poor service and deplorable customer service.

"[Member Name Removed], your Electrolux dishwasher is covered under the first year warranty through Electrolux. We received a dispatch to come look at your dishwasher. We are required, pursuant to the contract of Electrolux, to call the Electrolux factory technical support line upon arrival. These are the requirements from Electrolux. This is done to ensure proper diagnostics is performed on all appliances sold with the Electrolux name brand. Our technician followed protocol. It was diagnosed that your unit needed a water fill valve. You claim that the unit was not draining. That was not the case. Actually, the unit is filling when it was not supposed to. We advised you of our findings and we ordered the part. When our technician arrived to your home to install the part. You became combative, argumentative and you refused to allow our technician to repair your appliance following the guidelines set forth from your warranty company. We are just following protocols from your warranty company. We are sorry that you’re frustrated and upset. We understand that appliance failures are never convenient. Please call us if you would like to discuss anything further. We would love the opportunity to turn this into a five star review."

Left an inquiry late on the evening the appliance failed and got a call first thing the next morning. They were able to come as soon as my next availability. The technician, Brian, called to confirm the appointment and had our repair done in less than 1.5 hours. He was personable and professional and had everything ready to get the job done. He even let me watch the entire process, as I often try to fix things myself when I’m able. Repairs and labor were all done below my expected estimate. I would definitely hire this company again.

Company charged us $430 for parts and labor and it’s still has the same problem ten days later. Technician just opened the freezer, listened to the sound (no technical diagnosis) and said he knew what that sound was and would order the part. Tech returned several days later, defrosted unit, installed the new part. A few days later the same symptoms returned. Clearly the first set of parts were not the correct GUESS. Tech returned FOR THIRD TIME (defrosted unit) said it would be $350 more.....we declined because we were exactly where we started! The next company used the computer on the unit exterior to diagnose the issue. Would not recommend The Appliance Care Company.

"[Member Name Removed], We are pleased to hear that the next company replaced the exact same control board that we advised you would possibly have to be replaced. As we stated, it'[Member Information Removed] the chicken / egg question... which one came first? There is no way for us to continue the repair/troubleshooting unless we replace the one known bad part to then test for proper operation. The first part that we replaced was defiantly defective. We are sorry that you're not happy with the product you purchased and the failure. We did not make the appliance... we did not sell it to you... we did not cause your appliance to fail. Sometimes there are more that one defective parts. It'[Member Information Removed] sad that you take your anger regarding your broken appliance out on us. Please mail us the invoice/receipt from the the last company that was at your home and we will review for a refund."

Technician was very polite, extremely knowledgeable and thorough. Repairs were too expensive so $95 service charge was only expense. There are cheaper service charges from other companies, but I got what I paid for. He spent about an hour diagnosing and estimating repairs.

It went well. Only issue was the online service scheduling was not working. And they did not want to honor the online price for a service call.

Dryer was making a squealing sound and was not drying properly. The technician diagnosed the problem in less than 30 seconds. Gave us a reasonable quote and repaired the dryer in under 30 minutes. We were very pleased as there was no more noise and the dryer was operating correctly. They adjusted the dryer hose and removed the lint that had built up which was great of them to do.

Called this company first thing Monday morning and made an appointment for Tuesday. The technician called my wife first thing Tuesday to let her know he was on his way. He diagnosed the issue and determined that functionally the washer was in good shape, just needed a little lubricant. Will keep their number handy for future appliance service repairs. Would recommend them!

The technician came on the day promised. He was very professional and courteous. After performing diagnostics he determined that the problem was not with the refrigerator but with its owners, us! We had not been closing our freeze properly, which caused the air vent to freeze up with condensation. All we had to do was unplug it for a couple of days and let it thaw and dry out.

Very pleased with both the office staff, and the technicians. I originally requested my service via the internet, and I was skeptical as to whether I would get a response. I did, and the young lady was very courteous and explained everything fully. I was able to get prompt service, following a 3-day holiday. The technician was right on time. He appeared very knowledgeable, and he got right to work. Took about an hour. He explained that we also needed to get our ducts very clean.

We had two problems ( a dishwasher mechanical failure and a dryer electronic failure) fixed yesterday (5/24/2017) by the Appliance Care Company from Belton. They were responsive and knowledgeable - able to come and diagnose the problem the next day. Then they obtained parts quickly and came back to execute repairs the next day! Their service guy (Brian) was efficient and careful of our pretty wood floors in the kitchen and laundry. We are very satisfied with the work done. Their charges were reasonable (not cheap) and supported by the time and expense of the work done. Communication was quite good. As usual, scheduling was a "sometime between 9 AM and 5 PM which does tie people down to be home until they show up - I don't think that is an easy problem to solve because repairs are difficult to predict.

He drive up in the drive rang the bell announced who they were. I told them just a minute, went to let them in. Then he proceeded up the stairs and looked in the fridge. Pretty much told me what it was upon putting his hand in the freezer. He pulled out the ice maker unit detached the motor unit out on the new one. Out it all back together and it started to work immediately. He was very nice and courteous and was up front with the pricing , of course because I had a very concerned husband on the phone. But I would user them again. Also the office people were very nice too?
