Walter gave us an estimate and within 48 hours he and his partner, Jonathan, were at our home as promised.  They work with a keen eye to detail, fast, professional and within the estimated cost!  We have worked with Walter on painting projects, wood refinishing, and we take all of our leather shoes and boots to their shop on Manchester for repairs.  If you have ANY wood work, furniture, or interior painting projects--I highly encourage you to contact Walter for your project!

They called about 2 weeks later, and said the purse was ready. When I went in, the purse was cleaned but the stitches clearly had not been covered as most of the white stitches were now tan. It wasn't uniform but random, which showed that the tan polish had been just put on without regard to the stitches. When I showed him the sloppy polish on the trim, he agreed to keep it and fix it. This time when I went to pick it up, he had simply put tan polish uniformly on all the stitches. The owner said I should take it somewhere else if I didn't like it. I remembered that I had joined Angie's List, so I asked him for a card and his name since this is the kind of service experience I would like to know about when I look at Angie's List (as well as the positive experiences). He said that he didn't have a business card and his name was none of my business. I asked his employee for the owners name and he told me it was Walter but wouldn't give me his last name. I was in the parking lot writing down the name and address of the business and the owner came up to me and asked me to leave--I said I was just writing down The Shoemakers House address and when I asked him again for his name, he said it was Greg. I never raised my voice or changed my tone, but when I mentioned Angie's List and BBB he said I was disturbing the peace and threatened to call the police. It was an incredibly bad experience. If he had honestly felt like he completed the service that I had contracted for and paid for, why all the hostility and refusing to give me his name? This incident escalated out of control and was over in 5 minutes but it left a lasting impression on me--I will NEVER go to the Shoemakers House at 14533 Manchester Road again.
