Insurance Agencies
They direct my medical care. I have a PPO, not an HMO, and they tell my doctors what they can do. Even the bone density test, that I was to have, has to be pre-certified. Each year it will need to be pre-certified, even though osteoporosis is common in my family. I can't receive physical therapy until it is authorized and then they tell me how many visits I can be given. Doctor's offices don't like working with GHP because it takes more time to have to pre-certify for everything. One of the results is that my doctor is out of network and I will have to pay more money if I want to go to him.
