One Time Interior House Cleaning
I?m extremely disappointed with my experience and do not recommend using this company. My family recently arranged a one-time deep clean for my mother, who has faced serious health issues, and we wanted to support a local business and family we knew. Before the cleaning, I clearly set a $250 budget, which the owner confirmed in writing as sufficient. I was later charged an additional $62 and warned I?d be sent to collections if it wasn?t paid by month?s end. The owner claimed that I ?led them to believe? my mother lived there and that the house wasn?t in bad shape. I was shocked that a cleaning company would judge a client for needing help with cleaning... I had already stated in the initial form that my mother was struggling with health problems and couldn?t keep up with the house. I paid the $312 to put the situation behind me, but I strongly suggest choosing a company that is transparent about pricing and communicates clearly. I?ve included our communication below for context.

"I am so sorry that you did not understand how we work. I explained numerous times that all initial cleanings were billed by an hourly fee. You asked if I thought (by what you put in our on-line estimate) if $250 would cover it. I said it "should" based on that information. You also did not request a deep clean. Your mom had asked them to do extra stuff while they were cleaning which resulted in additional time. You also left out in your review is that your mom turned them away 2 different times when they showed up for an appointment to clean (with an email reminder sent out 5 days ahead as well as a text the night before). That is typically a $75 fee which we waived due to her circumstances and that we knew you. The number one reason why we charge by the hour for all initial cleaning is that we don't know the condition of the homes that I have not personally been to for an estimate. I can only "estimate" what it would be for a routine clean in a home of that size and that is exactly what I told you. You never asked us to cap the amount or time which we would have been more than happy to do. We would have asked your mom to call you for permission for the extra things she asked them to do or communicated with you directly. No one ever judged your mom. I simply stated to you that the house was not in great condition and that she asked them to do extra stuff. Our billing system automatically generates invoices every week for unpaid invoices. Your invoice was left unpaid by a month therefore putting it into a "collection" category if left unpaid. There was never a demand for payment by any time frame. I hope this explanation of the events leading up to the actual cleaning represents more of the miscommunication that transpired leading to the additional costs involved."

The cleaning was exceptional. The lady's that came in to.clean were so kind and were very helpful with any questions I had. The boss was also so nice and made scheduling so smooth. She was able to get me in right away on short notice. The ladies were also on time.

The clean was well done and the owner was very personable. I was impressed with how fast the job was done and the quality. We had the crew clean our main floor and upstairs. They changed our sheets and did all the things I hate to do! It was amazing!

Michele and her team were not only super communicative, but were responding to my questions in the middle of the work day and within minutes! They were able to give me a heads-up when they were headed towards my house and the girls were very fun and energetic! They got in and out within an hour and literally made my life so much easier! The only things they were not able to assist me with were my high chandeliers and high windows (insurance purposes requires different companies to service those requests, which was no problem). The girls worked together and it felt like I had a team of fairies that came in and got out leaving me with the biggest sigh of relief! So Grateful that they come back every two weeks (sometimes every week) because there's really nothing better than coming home to a clean home and actually getting to enjoy it! Thanks to Extra Step and the girls!!

Great job, nice people, got the dust and dirt out. Not good for upholstery cleaning as not really equipped for it.

The girls were able to text me prior to arriving which was so helpful. They worked in a team and were in and out within an hour for a routine clean, which was so great! I asked Michele for extra services before they came and they were able to accommodate my wants and my needs (letting my dog out of her kennel after they were finished). I am so grateful for a personable crew in my home. I would recommend to anyone in the West County STL area!! I have used a few other companies in the area and this one is superior.
