With more than 50 area locations, Clarkson is the largest eye care provider in St. Louis. Our board certified optometrists and ophthalmologists provide the highest level of care in the industry. Clarkson doctors are fully licensed to provide all services in both Missouri and Illinois. Clarkson offers a complete line of primary and secondary eye care services, including full medical eye exams, contact lens fittings, and treatment of eye diseases. Clarkson Eyecare also offers an extensive line of designer eyeglasses and sunglasses, and one of the largest selections of contact lenses in St. Louis. The optometrist was professional and answered all my questions thoroughly. However after two weeks when my glasses came in I could not properly see through the lenses. They said it would be expedited so I would not have to wait too long. Been almost another week and no call with the glasses coming yet

Scheduling the appt was easy and efficient- done online. Dr. Collier was friendly and thorough with my eye exam and contact lens fitting process. The office staff were also helpful and attentive with ordering contacts and glasses. I'll continue to see her as my optometrist in the future.

I have always been happy with them. I have dropped in on them a couple of times when my glasses just needed a little repair. They did it at no charge. I go once a year. I like the facility, the people and the doctor there that I see. It's clean and modern. The people are all very helpful.

Positives:
Friendly staff. Prompt access at the time of the appointment. Thorough professional exam. Well fitted contact lenses. Good follow up.
Negatives:
Forgot to order my initial set of trial lenses. I had to call to follow up on when they would be available. That being said, the staff apologized and responded quickly with getting the lenses.
Overall:
I found the service and environment more than acceptable. There was an omission but the staff reacted efficiently to correct it. I plan to use them again.

Everyone was very nice and incredibly helpful. I had several questions and was impressed with how responsive the staff was to all of them. I was quite nervous about this procedure and they did everything I needed to help calm my fears. I also really appreciated their candor in what to expect and what they could not promise.

Clarkson Eye Care is fantastic. The doctors there are very friendly. The doctor whom I consulted there explained everything and answered my queries. He spent quite some time to make me understand. My experience there was very good. The office environment is clean and not packed up. I would recommend them to anybody.

Went for an eye appointment, they provided me with progressive glasses, however these did not work for me, so I had to purchase 2 pairs of glasses, which costs a lot of money even with insurance.

They have been pretty good and I have been satisfied. But the last time I used them, I couldn’t see out of my eye glasses. They said that it will take a week or so to get used to it. However, I couldn’t use it even after waiting for a week or so. I was using my own glasses. I went back to them and said that I couldn’t use the glasses. I returned them and asked for my money back. They gave me my money back which was good. I was glad about that. I got a card like every three years to go back and get my eyes checked. Their price was reasonable compared to others. They had a good selection of eye frames. They were there all the time; somebody was there to answer the phone. The office environment was pleasant. The wait time was about a few minutes but not like half hour or so. Their punctuality was really good. The staff was friendly, courteous and polite. Everything was clean and neat. Once or twice the doctor wasn’t there and so they called me after I called. Their treatment was pretty effective except for the last time.

My husband took the girls for their eye appointments and they went well. However, when it came time to pick out frames, there were no fitting specialists and it appeared that the people designated to help were not trained in fitting frames. Furthermore, even after we told them what we were looking for they continued to show the girls frame that didn't fit our criteria, the girls' criteria or our budget (which would have covered about 75% of the frames on display, b/c we were willing to go up to 100$ over what our insurance covered). We ended up taking the girls' perscriptions to Wildwood Vision Specialists (located in the same shopping center) to get their glasses.

I have seen both Dr. Tubbs and Dr. Mathews and both are wonderful! They really worked with me to help find the right contacts and I couldn't be happier with my current lenses. The other staff there is also very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. They assisted me in picking out the perfect pair of glasses. I have used Clarkson Eyecare for all my eyecare needs for the past 3 years and I couldn't be happier!

I was quite satisfied with the doctor and staff at the Festus, MO office; they were all quite nice and very helpful, and I have absolutely no complaints with any of them or their services. My major complaint, however, is with the quality of my new glasses. First of all, they had to be returned to be re-made because I could not see well out of them. After receiving the second pair, I wore them for less than two weeks when one lense fell out, and I had to make a special trip back to have it put back in. Now, only a week later, the other lense has fallen out, and I'll have to make yet another 25-mile round trip to have this repaired. I am 60 years old and have worn a number of eyeglasses in my lifetime, but not once have I ever had to return a pair of glasses or had my lenses fall out. I am totally disappointed and unhappy with the inferior quality of Clarkson's products and will not return to them again based on this experience.

I hadn't had new lenses in 2-3 years, so it took some fine-tuning to get the Rx correct. I had to go back three times, and each time there was no charge, Dr. Tubbs said it was no problem, and there was hardly a wait. I made my appointments online and they billed the insurance. I would HIGHLY recommend this place!!

Once I completed my eye exam...a problem with my vision was discovered and I was immediately given an appointment with an eye surgeon. I am extremely pleased with the optometrist who checked my eyes. He was wonderful and explained in detail what was happening with my vision. I would definitely refer friends and family to Clarkson Eye Care in Edwardsville. Everyone was wonderful and I am extremely satisfied.
