The grass cutting has been OK. I am not overwhelmed by the job some weeks the lawn appears to hardly been cut with some spots missed. My biggest complaint is the service I received when I had them pull some weeds, remove a tree stupm and plant a few plants. In the end it looked nice but administratively getting them out to my house was a nightmare and because of this I will not use them next year to mow my lawn.
First I got an estimate and asked over and over to send it to me via email. I called the office talked to the receptionist and asked her to send it to me and she said she would when she found it. Heard nothing and called back a week later and she still had not found it. The sales man had called me to tell me over the phone but nothing written down. They also kept changing when they thought someone could come out. Finally they called me and gave me a date and send someone would be there by 11. I asked them to be sure because I wanted to be there while the work was being done. I was working from home but had to fit in an errand in the afternoon. I called in the morning to make sure since I had so much trouble with them and she said yes before 11. I called at 11 when no one was ther and she said in route. I could back around 12 oh I'm not sure but you do not have to stick around and almost acted like well it is your fault for wanting to be there. Then I called at 1 insisting I talk to the owner and I spoke to him and he finally sent me a text copy of the bid which I could get from no one before. Then he said no later than 2. I called at 2 and asked what is going on she said I am sure they are close. I hear they are in your area. Called again at 2:30 and she said oh they are stuck in a meeting in St. Charles. Now I live in Wildwood and she had even said they are on 109 and then the next time I call they are in St. Charles. I was furious. I sent a letter to the manager and he never responded. I also expressed my dissatisifaction on my bill and still nothing. They finally showed at 4:00. The owner assured me that he personally would make sure they showed by 2 and never even called to apologize for this.
They will not touch my lawn next year and I will make sure that none of my neighbors use them. If the owner is this rude then there is no way you can count on the rest of the company!!!!

They did not slit seed the lawn, they only threw seed on top of the dirt - and into a perennial bed. When we complained that they did not slit seed, they sent a crew out and they threw more seed on the ground. "Patrick" (I think he may be the owner) showed up unannounced to collect payment. I told him my husband was out of town but wanted to speak with him about the job. Patrick said unless I paid him he would go down to the courthouse tomorrow and put a lien against our house. I did not pay him; when my husband came back into town he immediately went to their office, paid them and got a lien waiver. My husband was furious and he intended to file suit against them in small claims court but unfortunately got busy with his job and never got around to that.

I've put them on hold for right now, as the liner has a hole in it, we're also putting down floors, my wife's 26 year old is getting married, and we're having showers and so on. He was prompt, he looked at the job, it was a little too much dirt for me to move, I asked him if he could bring a small bobcat, and he said he would just get some workers to dig it, it is a 5 X 5 hole. His name is Patrick and he seemed like a nice guy. He said just call back when you're ready to do it and he is just easy to deal with. Maybe, my wife dug them up or had a recommendation from someone she work's with. He was right on time and the bid was fine. They mailed the bid back within a couple of days and I'm going to use him.

While they did kill all the weeds and dethatch the lawn, they did not aerate or slice seed. We watched them throw seed on the lawn by hand and leave without using the equipment. We expected someone to come to the door to have us sign off on the job or at least explain what they had done, but the workers left without acknowledging us. A close family friend has worked in golf course turf maintenance, and he saw the seed on top of the ground and agreed that there was no way the company performed any slice seeding or aeration. There were no holes or cuts in the yard at all, and you could see all the seed sitting at the ground surface. While the lawn has grown in many places, there are several bare spots where the birds ate the seed, and we are concerned about how vigorous the lawn will ultimately be in the heat of summer without having been aerated or slice seeded. We called no fewer than five times to discuss the issue. While we did feel like we owed the company some money, we did not feel as though we should have to pay for services not performed per the bid. The receptionist was extremely dingy, and acted each time we spoke as if it was the first time she had heard from me. She kept saying, "I'll have someone get back to you" but no one would return our calls. We finally said that we were withholding our payment until we were able to discuss the matter with someone. We genuinely wanted to work with the company and were hoping we could come to an agreement that would leave both of us satisfied. A manager (not sure of his actual name) showed up at our home without calling first. He asked me what the problem was. When I explained, he said that I was wrong, the lawn had been slice seeded, that it didn't need to aerated (even though that box was checked on the bid), and if I didn't want to pay the full bill, he would see me in court. I felt threatened and very uncomfortable with him at my home behaving in such an aggressive and unprofessional manner. Our experience with Outdoor Solutions was by far the very worst experience we have ever had with any home project.

The person I had worked with, Patrick, was very rude and verbally abusive with me. He was using the words like "freakin" and he talked down to me like I was a little child. He was very sarcastic to me when he spoke. They were here twice to do some repairs on the work, and still it is not satisfactory. His manner and his assessment of the job" this freaking job is too small for all this now you have five minutes to decide if you want the work done or not after that I am pulling my crew and I am through " " I dont want you hasseling my workers after I leave either ; I dont want you talking to them or telling them what to do."

If we would not have been billed for the treatments, we would have never known anything was done. What a waste of money. Our yard looks worse than it did last summer. When we voiced our concerns, we were given a list of reasons, including weeds are airborne and if our neighbors do not control their weeds they will blow into our yard.

They did not slit seed; they threw the seed on the ground. Each time we complained they dropped off a crew to throw more grass seed. They seeded a (formerly) spectacular perennial flower bed, along with other areas that were not supposed to be grass. They cut the main water line to the sprinkler system; Mr. O'Neal knocked on my door and asked ME if I knew where it could be coming from! They borrowed our tools to work on the sprinkler heads; the system was out of operation for 2 weeks. The relocated sprinkler heads were left sticking out of the ground; the lawn tractor broke them off. Mr. O'Neal showed up on a weekday morning to collect his money. I told him he'd have to discuss that with my husband (who hired him), and my husband was out of town. Mr. O'Neal calmly told me he'd just go down to the courthouse & file a lien against our house! I was flabbergasted!

The lawn always looks good and the gentlemen are always on time. They take care to not put wheel marks in your lawn as well. I would recommend them for the quality of work and the price is excellent!

Compared to the other lawn companies out there the price was very reasonable. I do feel that they did a good job and I could always count on them to make our yard look just as good as the other neighbors using the other lawn services.
