I needed 2 bedrooms repainted after I had the plaster repaired from water damage. I also decided to have my large bedroom painted as well. A coworker recommended Jim Mier. I called him in early June to receive an estimate. We did play phone tag for a week until we finally connected and he came out on a Saturday to take measurements and prepare an estimate. We discussed colors. I wanted two of the rooms white and the other room the same beige color as before. Jim helped me find the old paint can in my basement among a myriad of paint cans that the previous owner had left. I had the detailed estimate early that week, at $845 for all materials and labor, which was lower than my mental estimate. At that time, Jim shared that he would not be able to do the work until August, which I was fine with. At the start of August, Jim contacted me and we agreed for him to start the work in 3 or so weeks. In the middle of August, the 14th, I believe, he contacted me again and we agreed on the 20th to start. I had company in town before then and did not want to start until the 20th. On the 19th, he contacted me again to remind me he would be there the next day and that the job would take until Thursday or Friday. During the days that he worked - Tuesday through Thursday, I did not see him, but when I came home, the work areas were always neat. All I had to do was secure any loose small objects; he moved all furniture around and back. Jim called and left me messages every afternoon giving me a progress update, since I was unavailable at work. My biggest concern was that since I was having the master bedroom painted I would have to 'move out' for a night. Jim was able to complete all the work in the bedroom in one day, move all the furniture back in one day so I was not inconvenienced at all. To sum it up; Jim was always the professional, the work was done quickly and neatly and he stayed in communication with me without me having to hound him. This was the most pleasant experience I have had with a contractor in my 6 years of living in my home. If you need painting done, call Jim!
