I wanted to replace my air conditioning system before it conked out in the heat of summer, and my furnace was on it's last leg as well. I called 3 HVAC contractors listed on Angie's list. I chose Arnold Air to do the work. The main reason I chose this company is the professional way the contractor presented his bid, including putting on booties before entering my house, how the information on the bid was presented, and the bid itself. Since I last had an HVAC system installed, there have been many changes to HVAC systems, and Mike from Arnold Air explained the "stage" systems so that I understood what that meant, how they could meet my needs (more efficiency from units, and qualify for Ameren rebates), and what was available. The bid that Arnold Air provided included 2-stage (more efficient) units for both air and heat, met my price range, and qualified for the Ameren rebates-perfect!
Arnold Air was not cheapest, but also not the most expensive. plus both units were 2-stage. One of the other contractor's bid was only a couple hundred less but did not include 2-stage units for air or heat. The third contractor beat all prices, but the heat unit was a different brand than the air, and also not a 2-stage unit.
After selecting Arnold Air and before the install date, my current air conditioning went out on one of the hottest days of the summer. I called Arnold Air, and they sent a repairman out. The circuit for air on my electrical panel was tripped, so I also called Reinhold Electric; they thought the circuit was ok, that it was probably the unit, but said Arnold Air would have to determine that. The Arnold Air repairman determined it was the air unit condenser and installed something on the condenser to keep it running until they replaced it the next week. He also worked patiently with the Reinhold Electric guy to ensure it was the unit and not the circuit, since I was concerned about a bad circuit impacting the new unit. Arnold Air did not charge for this excellent service!!
The install went smoothly, and all the workers were very professional and completed the work as scheduled and on time.
I signed up for Arnold Air's bi-annual inspection contract as well, and was pleasantly surprised that is was less than I had been paying another contractor.
I could not ask for anything more from an HVAC contractor and highly recommend Arnold Air.
My last experience was pretty good. Their quality was really good and they were on time.
They service my heating and air each year. If I need them to come out, they come right out, I don't have to wait. I'm glad I called them. They do a great job of cleaning and the tech that came out to clean was a wonderful person to talk to. He took parts out and sanded them down with steel wool, he was so detailed in his cleaning.
