Batemans Dirt Works

Eaan is fantastic! We were having water coming into our basement every time it rained. The first quote we got was quite expensive, saying we needed to install a drainage system. We called Eaan and he came out the same day. He took a look at everything and decided that we needed to re-grade our front yard. Eaan came out the following week and regraded our front yard and laid new sod. We haven?t had water in our basement since! We are looking to have some stuff done to the backyard this year and we have full intentions of hiring Eaan to do it.

I paid a deposits back in March so once I was ready to move forward they will be ready and good to go. Let them know I'm good to go first week in July and they don't show up until the 28th. Come on out and start digging with 3 guys on site. Would take extra long weekends. Not work full hour work days. Over half the time, Ian would not show up until 2 pm. And there would only be one crew worker there working and I would be there working with him.

I would not recommend this company. I needed a job done quick and they came out the day I called to give me an estimate and said they could do the work the next day and give me a discount if I paid in cash. I needed a 16 x 20-foot area excavated and filled with packed gravel to build on. They came out late the next day complete the job which was great timing. I did pay them upon completion as it was late in the evening and they said if there were any issues to call and they would come take care of it. Very nice! I was left to haul away and dispose of 4 wheelbarrows of turf, rake and level off the gravel. Tree roots started popping up in multiple areas because there was no fabric laid down first, the gravel was NOT as thick as is was supposed to be 4-5 inches and the area excavated was NOT the 16x20. I steaked if off after the fact to check. They were short a foot on one side and left 8 FEET of gravel past the other side that I am expected to clean up, I could not rake it up easily. I should have listened to my husband and got the tape measure out before they left, but I am thinking, hey these are nice professional guys, they know what they are doing. I contacted Eaan and he sent Blake to come look at the job a few days later and agreed the job was done poorly and he would come dig out the extra foot, place more gravel down, pack it like it should be and clean up the extra gravel that in my yard before my grass died. There were several communications back and forth saying they were going to come out, then they would cancel, then they would say they would probably make it there tomorrow. I am like probably, I just could not get a straight answer. Then got a text from the owner Eaan apologizing, saying he would be out here personally to complete the work, that is not a good representation of their company etc. etc. I said I would like to schedule a day and time once he knows. I do not think that is an unreasonable request seeing I have been getting the run around. He would not schedule a time and I have not heard back after he said he would be out this week, its the end of the week and no communication. Needless to say, I am very disappointed and feel I got taken advantage of, and because this was a cash job they do not care. Well guess what, cash or credit, I am still a paying customer. This was not cheap as I received other quotes that far less, and they would have excavated, put border up, place fabric down, packed and laser leveled the area to build on. Unfortunately I got sucked in thinking I was getting a great deal, with a fast turnaround. $2k for a poor job that I will have to pay someone else to fix and push out build even further.

The stump removal was perfect. Left the area better than it was when they arrived. They did exactly what was promised and cleaned up the work area well.

Eean and his crew were fantastic. Job was done very quickly and they were professional and courteous. Would definitely do business with them again.

Batemans re-sod 6000 Sq yards of my lawn they did a excellent job and from sod removal to soil preparation to re-sod they did a excellent job. Good value for the money spent!

I bought 5 yards of pulverized black dirt from Eaan. From the research I have since done, pulverized black dirt should be loose, easy to shovel and rake, and be relatively free of rocks and other foreign matter. The dirt Eaan sold me was extremely lumpy and clumpy; not at all easy to rake or shovel or embed grass seed in; contained a multitude of rocks (some as big as my closed fist); a huge piece of twisted metal; all kinds of twigs, branches, and sticks; a green acorn; miscellaneous pieces of paper and plastic; little pieces of red rock; little orange pieces of wood; etc., etc., etc. I did not get what I ordered; I did not get what I wanted; I did not get what I paid for. Eaan has repeatedly refused to get me copies of the paperwork detailing the dirt purchase from Fra-Dor. Eaan has refused to give me his state license number. Eaan has done nothing to rectify the problem except to tell me that all the rocks will not be a problem and that I will end up with a fine lawn. He has made certain promises over the phone but he never follows through upon any of his promises. The last time we spoke on the phone I had to hang up on him because of all the profanity. I would certainly not recommend Eaan and his company to anyone. BUYER BEWARE!!!!!

Earn and his crew put in a complete paver patio with a long pathway leading to a circular patio with a built-in fire pit. It turned out amazing! We have gotten so many compliments on it! Earn and the crew was professional, punctual and fun to work with. had great ideas and worked so hard. We ran into a few hiccups during the project and he solved them all in a timely and calm manner. We will definitely hire them for future projects!
