Andrew, Tim, and Dave were always courteous and prompt. No calls went unanswered and unexpected problems were addressed. Due to weather and a couple of their suppliers sending the wrong amount or the wrong color of a product and one of the installers getting ill the project, which was supposed to take a couple weeks, took several months. This was frustrating to me as well as them, but not once did they shirk communicating with me. Tim was on his own much of the time (which included some nasty weather conditions) and Dave kept me in the loop as to scheduling etc. Andrew was available when needed. The three of them were professional at all times. We worked together and we are now enjoying our new porch. Despite some setbacks with this job, we intend to hire them for future projects and will recommend their services. Thanks guys!

The initial meeting went really well, and we decided to hire Homestead to redo the windows on our back porch, giving them a $1500 deposit at that time. After a couple weeks, of waiting for the contractor that would actually do the work to let us know what the final cost would be and when he would start, we were informed the cost would be almost double the original estimate we were given. There was more back and forth over another two week period, and we decided not to move forward with the work. We then waited for three months for Homestead to return our $1500 deposit, and only got that back after I contacted them about it. With all the delays on getting a final bid we also ended up outside of the 30-refund window and lost the $150 we paid for the original deal, since there is no way we would ever hire this company after the experience we had.

"We have reviewed your file and noticed on your agreement that our representative clearly stated in line 2 of that agreement that there would be additional charges for any EPA required Lead Abatement and any additional structural work. Our project manager went to the job site and identified structural concerns. We informed you of these costs. Our records indicated that it was not until mid August of 16' that you were not able to afford the added costs for the proper structural repairs. On Oct. 13th we contacted you with alternate solution to install the windows. When we did not hear back from you we determined it would be best to refund your deposit and cancel the agreement. It is very unfortunate that Angie's List would not refund you for the purchase that you were never able to complete. I would communicate your dissatisfaction with the powers at be with Angie's List and demand your $150.00 return or see if you can use it as a credit elsewhere."

After 13 years of not doing anything to our Deck, we could not believe how GREAT it looks know. It looks brand new ! The work on the front door looks great too. Homestead Remodeling staff and crew were very Knowledgeable and Professional and did an Awesome Job. We will hire them again for future home projects.

Horrible experience. Make sure you contact previous clients; I made the mistake of not doing it and paid the price. Owner Ken Burkhardt got nasty with me when I complained about poor quality of service and withholding payment until job was done to satisfaction.

I originally had rated Homestead Remodeling & Consulting LLC lower because of the delay in getting the attic insulation installed, and I wasn't sure that the job was complete. However, the crew at Homestead followed up with me and addressed all of my concerns. I will do business with them again. Communication and customer satisfaction are the most important thing to me.

I had some issues with them. Things got messed up because one of the people who came didn't put my order in. So it took a extra couple months before I could have it started. It was then right before Christmas. It was just difficult. It took 5 months to get it started, and it shouldn't have taken that long. According to them even. I thought the prices was a bit high, but I didn't get a lot of estimates. I looked at where they were from and what they were doing, but I could have been more diligent in my process. Once we got it all started it was good. I had some real good responses from people. I might consider them, but I would get more estimates. The last job I had done I had 4 estimates so that helped a lot.

Nothing needed to be done. He said that I had done all that could be done without replacing the existing windows( I applied shrink film on all windows). However, I live in an town home governed by Association rules and regs and windows can't be replaced unless mandated by the Association and its Board of Directors.

It went very well I had a roof leak and they work very hard for me with the insurance company and I got a new roof and siding a painted bed room it like anew house very very good job

Working with the entire team at Homestead was a great experience. Because I own an historic home in Stillwater, I was concerned about maintaining the integrity of the design. Chris Nord and the sales team worked with me to choose the style & quality of the products which would not only maintain but enhance the beauty of my home and not detract from it's architectural style. The crew was excellent...prompt, professional and true craftsmen with an eye for detail. They communicated with me throughout the project and answered all my questions. Respect for my property was great and the clean up was perfect. Greg Flor, the Production Manager, visited the site several times to ensure the work was proceeding and there were no issues. Ken Burkhardt, Owner, followed up immediately after the project was completed to inquire if I had any remaining questions or concerns. I would highly recommend Homestead Remodeling - the products and service were excellent!

Very good. One of the windows came from the factory with a crack in it and they were very quick to get a replacement. The quality of the product is top-notch, and the quality of the installation is excellent.

My expectations were met and exceeded. I have an old 1906 Victorian, two story house which, after many years of neglected maintenance, I am trying to restore using as much of the old wood as possible. The porch columns were beyond saving so new, wood columns, with wood capitals and bases, were ordered and installed perfectly. With very old houses, nothing can be taken for granted and so I always expect some kind of issue with things not being plumb etc. But I was so surprised by the expertise, experience and conscientiousness of the Homestead crew that I could not believe it. The old wood railings and spindles were attached to the new wood columns and the old wood on the house expertly and soundly. Now it is a joy to look out the window at the porch. I also asked if a loose board in the soffit could be fixed even though it was not in the original order. I really did not expect that it could be taken care of, but they did it. What a relief that was. Needless to say, cleanup was expert and timely. Anyone trying to restore old structures (as well as any new remodeling) would be well advised to seek out Homestead Remodeling and Consulting.

He was very nice, but a few things came up during the job. After the initial bid came in I was told that an additional $2000 because of an old radiator. I asked why that was told to me after the initial bid offer, and was told it's because the person who offered the initial bid didn't know about that necessary upgrade. They subcontracted through another person who routinely brought their teenager to the site. He was constantly coughing and I had a problem with them bringing a sick kid to work. I purchased materials myself and was supposed to be reimbursed. They never gave me an itemized receipt, just a receipt for amount spent that they said added up perfectly between what extra I spent and what extra they spent. The overall work ended up being fine, but the communication was very poor.

I hired Homestead Remodeling through an Angie's List deal. The deal was a bathroom remodel for $5000, fixtures included. Since I knew I wouldn't like the fixtures included with the deal I purchased my own fixtures and tile. Price for fixtures and tile came to around $2000. Extra demolition for a tub surround, extra plumbing to bring the bathroom up to code, installation of the pedestal sink brought the cost of the job up another $2000-$3000.
I really liked working with this group of professionals. Everyone was always cheerful, courteous and positive. However, when the job first began I asked how long the job would take and they told me 2 weeks. They finished 2 months later. I understand that some things, like tile grout, had to sit before they could move on to the next phase. But pinning them down for a day and time they would return was tough. Also, I wish hey had used some plastic sheeting to cut down on the dust that spread throughout the house. I also was concerned because none of the crew wore any protective gear - no dust masks, ear protection, or eye protection. There were other issues like an incomplete repair of damaged walls. And to be fair, I think they would have done a better repair job if I had pushed it, But after 2 months, I was ready to have them completely out of my house.
I get the impression that this is a fairly young company and that they are trying to improve. At the end of the job, I had a kind of exit interview with a member of the company who seemed interested in how they could improve. He seemed to take my suggestions seriously. The cost of the remodel was close to $10,000 which was in line with other estimates I received. Would I hire them again? Probably. I've had some very preliminary discussions with a couple of the team members about a kitchen remodel. Overall, I'm happy with my bathroom.

They did an excellent job! The sales person Chris was very friendly and completed the estimate at the first appointment! Will and his team did an excellent job communicating with us on the project and answering all my questions! We had them install a new tub, tile shower walls and floor. The tile turned out beautifully!!! In addition, they replaced the bathroom door and worked it nicely into the existing style of the house! The final project was beautiful and nicely done!!! Andrew from Homestead followed up on the entire project and expressed the company's commitment to customer satisfaction and quality assurance on the project! Thank you everyone at Homestead!

For the original installation (January, 26th), they showed up over an hour late. They did not have all the right pieces to complete the job. Had to come back at a later time to finish. The window was drafty because the the job wasn't complete. As a result, wind from outside would whip into the house in the middle of winter. They did not clean up the mess they made. They did not cover or tell me to cover other items in the room that needed or could possibly become dirty while installing the window. They split spray insulation on my carpet and did not clean it up. I had to cut the fibers out of my carpet to remove the spray insulation. They came back six days later to finish the job. The window they installed had an imperfection they had to replace. On March 9th, they installed the new replacement window. With the project complete, I the quality of the window and the construction of the window is very good. However, there were many hiccups along the way. With all of the hiccups, I believe that this is an ethical company that wanted to remedy the issues. Throughout the entire process we (the customer) were in constant contact with the company.
