Paul Vadnais Plumbing & Well Pump Service

Will not hire or refer this plumber. I had a simple change of cartridge inside laundry brass faucet on the hot side, and I had already bought the part. Paul Vadnais couldn't get it out with a wrench, didn't try heat, penetrating oil or other methods or tools to break it loose. Asked if he could cut copper and take the faucet back to the shop to remove part, said trip costs would make it more than replacing faucet. Asked what cost would be for new faucet install was told $120 for faucet $80 trip charge. Cost of faucet is 4 times what one can buy it for, but had him replace it anyway. When handed my bill by his son, $252 - I asked why the difference than I was told. Son said, I can ask him. I said nevermind, I just don't plan to use your service again because wasn't able to do the job I requested to begin with. Son's response was "you won't find a cheaper plumber anywhere". He didn't even ask what it was I was unsatisfied with. Well, yes I have found a cheaper plumber now and one that also discloses costs and sticks to them. Felt plumber was more eager to do what was easier and make more $$ for him.

Great, quick work by Paul fixing my water heater. He was happy to keep my older unit running!

After returning from a long weekend away on Sunday, two hours later we had no water.   Monday morning I called and they said they would come out and take a look and would not charge me for a service call.  Turns out our well pump was no longer working.  We decided to go forward with the inevitable which required hooking-up to city water.  We/they were able to pull the permit and obtain and install the water meter by that afternoon just in time for the city to turn on the water before the City Inspector left for the day.  The following morning they needed to return to install the remote reader for the water meter and which time we asked them to look at our old laundry tub that would not drain.  They gave us a quote and returned later that day to complete the work on the laundry tub.  So happy that laundry tub is finally resolved as well.  

Call Paul at 9:00 am and he said they could be out to Grandmas house in 2-3 hrs., but within the hour he was calling to say they would be there in 20 minutes.  Paul and his assistant arrived, proceeded to discuss the problem, offering to taking off their shoes they accessed the upstairs and down stairs bathrooms.   In no time he was able to access the leak thru the light fixture, not disturbing any ceiling drywall, clearing up any moisture, fixing the corroded area of the pipe, replacing the light, clearing the lines for air and finishing in less than a hour.  Responsive, quick to access the problem, proficcient and professional.

They had to work around the company that was installing drain tile in my basement since the the floor was being jack-hammered up and they needed the floor drain parts replaced before they filled in the concrete.  The guy who arrived from Paul Vadnais Plumbing was great.  He moved the well pumped for the drain tile guys and had to come back later in the day to replace the floor drain pipes.  He was very accommodating considering the situation.  He then came back several days later with another guy to install a new well pump and water heater.  They were extremely nice and had the work done quickly.  I was very happy with the service I received and would definitely recommend this company.

The vendor was very responsive and professional. They arrived at the appointed time, explained what needed to be done and completed the work in a timely fashion. Would definitely use this plumber again.

Eventually there we issues with the cartridge that prevented the faucet from turning off the water.  He came out promptly the morning I called and replaced the cartridge free of charge.

He's good. They kind of specializes in pumps. I have both city water and a pump that I use for outside. It's really hard to find someone who works on the pumps. They come out and are courteous and get the job done. They'll tell me if something else is wrong or something that I should be doing. They're friendly. They're really excellent. They're inexpensive and don't have outrageous prices.

They were so responsive and did not take advantage of an emergency after hours.  Very professional, explained the situation to us and provided reasonable solution options.  We chose to replace the pump and Paul had one on the truck.  No delay.  

We had back-up of our basement shower floor drain. The plumber had to break the old drain cover because it had not been removed in years and that was the only way to get it off. He removed debris that was causing the problem. Unfortunately, he did not have a new drain cover so we had to go to the hardware store and purchase one ourselves. Otherwise, everything went well.

I called in the morning he said he'd come out by two. He said that it could be as much as $600. And he'd bring a 30 gallon tank.I said to go ahead. He called ahead said they were early came out and replaced the tank with a 20 gallon tank then gave me a bill for $600 with no itemization--when asked he said the tank was $299. Two people for 45 minutes for $300!!! The lead worker also yelled at his assistant loudly calling him a d******.

The plumber arrived on time, was courteous and got the job done quickly. He even offered tips on how to avoid the situation moving forward.

Paul was great. He showed up on time, did what he said he'd do, charged what he said he'd charge and made some great suggestions that saved me money. He's on our short list and we'll hire him again!

Did an excellent job in a timely manner

Paul had stopped by several days before the install to give me a quote. He was quick to return my call and was here the same day for the quote. His team arrived several days later to install water lines, since they did not exist before. The guys were on time and friendly. Thank you for making it a great experience!
