MCI Carpet One Floor & Home

,Our issue is with our pre-finished hard wood flooring upstairs and loop carpeting in our finished basement, which MCI installed and who the flooring was purchased from. We have been in the home for four years. After looking at our flooring, two contractors suggested we check into the warranty because, for a solid wood floor that is pre-finished, it is wearing unusually bad. It takes nothing for it to have a indentation in the surface, chip, or scratch (scratches are not covered). There are several places where it has chipped without dropping anything on it, to include a 3"x.5" piece that came off the side of one board when I walked by in socks one day. There was/is wide separation between boards on two ends of the room present when we moved in (at that time I did not know about warranty coverage or who put the flooring in because our home was a foreclosure on the builder). We had some water leakage near a door that we replaced afterward, but the wear issues are in multiple areas where water damage did not occur.
The loop carpeting in our basement pulls up with the least bit of a snag on a toy, shoes, moving a piece of furniture, etc. In two places the vacuum caught a snag that had not been clipped, before I knew how to repair a snag, which is understandable but the main issue is that it takes hardly anything to pull up a loop or multiple loops. The seam where two pieces of the carpet meet in the main area is very apparent.
The quality of the warranty, whether manufacturer or warranty MCI provides is poor quality. It is too easy for the representative to blame other factors. MCI will not cover anything because we have a dog, had a water damage event in one area, and lived in the home five years. Having had contractors suggest we check into warranty on the flooring after evaluating it, leads me to believe that the flooring is poor quality.
In terms of professionalism, the representative presented himself well and was responsive to phone calls and promptly set up an appointment to look at the flooring. He did not charge anything to evaluate the flooring.
