Driver of tow vehicle did a good job retrieving car and towing to my home. He called in to office to get the towing charge of $374.
Later I had our car put on a flat bed truck and taken to the repair shop in Maplewood -- about 15 miles. This company was Twin City Transport & Recovery. I asked that driver what it would cost for his company to do the same work. He estimated $100 to $125 plus another $50 if he had to cable me from the ditch. He was astonished at the price charged by Stillwater Towing.
I turned in my Stillwater Towing Company receipt to my State Farm Insurance agent in Stillwater. They were shocked when they saw the amount of Stillwater Towing's charges.
Stillwater Towing had me in a situation were I had no choice but to pay their charges. I complained to the driver but he didn't have the authority to reduce the amount. What could I do? Nothing except report my situation on Angie's List.
