STILLWATER GLASS

They were great to deal with on the phone and came to my home on time to replace the cracked windshield. Took about an hour and there was nothing left for me to clean up. Before leaving the installer made sure I knew the do's & donts for the new windshield in the next 24 hours.

We had a custom shower built that needed glass for the upper half and a 3ft glass door. Pat from Stillwater Glass came out and measured the shower. When he came out to install the shower glass, the metal frame had been cut wrong, so the glass was stacked in the shower until the frame was ready. The mirrors were installed that day. The next week the frame was complete and Pat came to install. He told me that he had assumed the angles were 45 degrees for the glass pieces, but it wasn't. So he had to do some filing to make the glass fit. Fast forward to the next week. We have not used the shower as the bathroom was otherwise not completed--the travertine stone needed to be sealed. We hear a pop from the other room. We went exploring for the source (we have cats) and my husband found that the small piece of shower wall had shattered. I should explain that this was tempered glass. So out Pat comes to remove it and put a temp in so we could start using the shower. Oops, doesn't have a piece that will fit. Needs to make a second trip for that. Now we ge a call from Stillwater Glass that WE will have to pay for the glass that shattered. Evidently, the company that they get it from doesn't warrenty tempered glass so Stillwater glass won't warrenty it either. This is tempered glass! It should not break! So even though we spent $2800 on glass from them, they were unwilling to pay for the small (3inch X 42inch) glass. Again-we never used the shower. I was so angry! Later, our tile guys (Providence Construction) called to say that they paid for the glass because they were the one's who recommended Stillwater Glass to us because Providence Construction stands behind their word/work unlike Stillwater glass.

Stillwater Glass had also installed a very unique replacement window for us a couple years ago. This was a round, beveled, frosted front door window that I thought couldn't be replaced for a reasonable price, or locally. But sure enough, whether it's specialty glass or regular window panes, Stillwater Glass can do it promptly and with quality product and work. Their prices are fair and their service is commendable.

THE TWO WORKMEN WERE VERY EFFICIENT, NEAT, AND DID A NICE JOB INSTALLING THE GLASS. THEY ARRIVED ON TIME. THE ESTIMATE WAS THE SAME PRICE AS PAID.

ANDERSEN THERMOPANE WINDOWS OF A CERTAIN AGE HAVE A KNOWN DEFECT THAT CAUSES THE PANES TO COLLAPSE TOWARD EACH OTHER (SEE MANUFACTURER'S WEBSITE FOR MORE INFO). IN WARRANTY, WINDOWS ARE EITHER REPLACED OR REPAIRED, DEPENDING ON THE PARTICULAR WINDOW SIZE AND STYLE. STILLWATER GLASS WAS RECOMMENDED BY ANDERSEN AS ONE OF THEIR CERTIFIED CONTRACTORS SERVING THE TWIN CITIES. I WAS THRILLED WITH THEIR QUICK RESPONSE AND VERY PROFESSIONAL WORK. THE PRICE WAS VERY REASONABLE TO REPLACE TWO VERY LARGE WINDOWS. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM FOR WINDOW REPAIRS.
