CLIFF'S SODDING

Cliff was great! He came to do the estimate right on time and discussed the specific needs of the project. He is clearly very knowledgeable and grasped that it required a special type of grass to grow in low light as it is in shadow most of the day. His estimate was reasonable and he came out right on time to perform the landscaping and sodding. I will definitely call Cliff if I ever need sodding service again. He's an honest man, he does great work, and he keeps his word. I couldn't recommend him more highly.

Arrived early on day promised and work was done early afternoon. He did a very neat job without disturbing existing grass.

He returned phone calls promptly, showed up when he said he would, accommodated a couple of changes on the fly, worked as hard as I've seen anyone work in a very long time, and provided a beautiful finished product. Even the kids who ride down the alley on their bikes stop to look in awe at my new lawn. Three more words: Hire. Cliff. Now.

I needed sod for a new construction project. They were very prompt, priced well and did an excellent job. Will definitely use them again.

It went great. The new Lawn looked great. I also received detailed instructions on how to care for it up until winter came.

Cliff did an excellent job. He removed the old sod, leveled the area and laid new sod.

I called Cliff for an estimate on Friday morning. He was there early that evening . I accepted his offer and was told he'd be there Tuesday or Wednesday. He showed up Tuesday afternoon and completed the job to my complete satisfaction. Tear out, light grading, replacement, and clean-up. Good quality, healthy sod, and immaculate conditions left behind.

I can' say enough good things about Cliff and his services.  My backyard was a muddy pit with the previous grass ripped up and ruined by a dog.  I need a re-sod fast and for a good price.  I contacted Cliff and he responded within an hour.  He then went out to the location within 48 hours, called me with a quote and re-sodded my backyard and side yard three days later.  What did I like best?  His responsiveness, that he didn't upsell me on a bunch of landscaping I didn't want, cost was reasonable, and he was available right away for both the quote and for the project.  You don't find vendors/professional like this often.  We need more Cliff in our world!

The project went extremely well. Cliff called the day I emailed him and set up an appointment for preparation of the bid for the following day. We had a bid by the end of our appointment. Cliff laid the sod that same week. The project was very well done and has held up well in the five weeks since then. The project went so impressively that my neighbor also contracted with Cliff's Sodding and has been very pleased with her project as well. I would definitely recommend Cliff and his company for other work and use him again in the future.

Service was prompt and efficient from beginning to end. The work was completed at the earliest proposed date and we were given thorough instructions on how to care for the new sod. We were especially happy to find someone who was interested in taking on a relatively small job.

I live in a 110-year-old house in Saint Paul.  I bought it in the spring, before anything had sprouted, so did not realize that much of the lawn was filled up with a long-abandoned vegetable garden that had turned into a weed forest.  Other portions of the lawn were entirely dead, or had had grass torn up when close-to-the-ground ash tree roots were pulled out.  
I got a couple of different bids from different sod companies.  Cliff seemed intelligent and fair, and I hired him.  The logistics were somewhat tricky because I'd had an irrigation system put in two days earlier, and was out of town when the sod was laid.  Despite this, Cliff did a great job, and was very easy to work with in terms of logistics and payment.  After a few weeks the sod looks great, and I am delighted with the improvement to my yard.  I recommend Cliff without hesitation!

I was very happy with all the aspects of the job. Cliff ran into an underground yellow jacket nest while cutting the border and suffered a sting in the process, but continued undeterred.

fair price with good materials.  Cliff is a consistent communicator who
in long time doing this, clearly know what to say and when to say it. 
He made my husband and I feel very comfortable and at ease with the

Excellent Job ! ... Overall. But let's start at the start :
First off, good pricing; was one of the most competitive estimates that I got. Cliff sized the project and left me a handwritten estimate on the spot before heading out. Also, called out potential risks and their cost impact at that time, though none of them became an issue, so no impact to budget/estimate. But it was good to be cognizant of the potential pitfalls.
Next, the job was done in 3 phases :
Phase 1 : clearing, grading and leveling the land. Very good job and done in a timely manner.
Phase 2 : extending the underground irrigation system - Cliff coordinated this very well with my sprinkler guys and the install was seamless.
Phase 3 : Sodding - Done over two days. Cliff mentioned how we ought to maintain the sod - Great job. Timely execution.
Now for the best part :
I am usually quite particular about dotting my Is and crossing my Ts - I am a checklist guy who generally reads every word of a contract before signing it. With Cliff, the entire job was done on a handshake and a handwritten estimate !! No contracts, no written confirmations, nothing. Men of honor are a rare breed and it is such a pleasure to deal with one every once in a while.

Cliff came out and looked at the project and gave me a fair price. He did the job if a timely manner and did an excellent job. Cliff also explained how to care for the new sod.

Cliff responded to my request immediately. He was so pleasant and scheduled a time to meet us and look at the yard so he could prepare a bid. He came out the same week, looked over the yard, we told him what we wanted, he told us what had to happen for the prepping of the yard and gave us a very competitive bid. My husband shook Cliff's hand and said we wanted him to do the job. Cliff said a handshake was all he needed to get started.
We had our contractor bring in topsoil and Cliff came in to install the sod. He did all the installation by himself! He ordered the sod fresh-cut the day of install and it looks fabulous!!
Cliff went over how to take care of it before it freezes this winter. He was so nice and is a very hard worker! He even came back a second time for a small adjustment and took care of everything quickly.

Cliff is retiring.

Cliiff responded quickly to my initial call, he gave me a quote over the phone, and followed up with coming out to look at our yard/project. His quoted price was lower than the initial bid. He came out and removed the dead grass patches, graded the back yard and laid new sod. He supplied me with direction on sod care and watering.

We have followed his instruction to the letter, it's been two week since the sod was laid down and the lawn looks Great! I would use this Ciliff's sodding again. Great price, good work.

We had just completed a paver patio install and I had installed a in ground sprinkler system so our backyard was a mess. Combine that with years of dogs, squirrels, and rabbits and the yard was difficult to walk on with all of the holes and lumps and likely to turn an ankle. I talked to a number of landscapers and was close to going with another but Cliff was very responsive, gave a great price - he wasn't the cheapest but it was in the range I was looking for - and was able to do the work quickly.
I think I talked to him on a Wednesday and he came out the following Monday to remove the existing the sod and level the yard, and Tuesday morning he install the new sod.
We will look at using him again in the future as we are likely to re-sod our front yard next year.

Cliff came out and gave us a quote within days of our phone call. After receiving the quote (a very reasonable price) we confirmed we wanted to hire him and the job was done within a week. He called the day before he was coming and he did the work in a day. The grass looks great!
