Chuck started the bathroom & halls jobs July 6, 2012 and finished Aug 1, 2012.
The sloppiest work I have ever seen! Chuck never cleaned up after himself, I had to. He'd show up one day, then whenever. Chuch states he has 30 years in the field, which may be true but doesn't mean he knows how to remodel.
Hall Bath:
The walls had a slightly rough finish. He never tried to knock-down the high points, used skim coated the walls and ceiling. I had do a second skim and and repaint. Chuck managed to get wall paint on all the trim and same with trim paint on the walls. The finish was worst than the first coat. The shower tile is lopsided, grout lines are different widths, he doesn't know how to cut tile straight so every tile he put up is uneven. He never sealed the grout. He left paint on the wall tile. It took me six requests for him to take care of some of this mess. The floor tile is just as bad. He miscut three tiles next to the tub. (Not sure I can have them replaced or not) He did't seal the tiles next to the tup. He installed a new shower head which is not attached to the hall. The refinish on the tub is a so-so job. He alsway said he'd be back to finish it, but never did. The new toilet is not properly set, it rocks when used. He insisted that it was as good as he could get the toilet.
Hallway & stairs:
He power-sanded a wall without barrier protection. My brand new TV was covered in dust as was the living room. He didn't use painterls tape to achieve straight lines so I took a few hourstaping around the doors and baseboards. When I took off the tape, the paint came off because he used so much paint. He dripped wall paint on the baseboards, doors and hardwood floors. Not once did he bend to wipe off the spatters. The final results was a total disaster. He never sanded the walls, he used a 6' roller, and way more paint than necessary. He also painted my marble bath and managed to splatter paint on the marble walls, floor, vainity, door trim and curtain!
I reported him to the Better Business Bureau, and of course he has never responded.
Do not hire him!
