I was satisfied with the ceiling repairs.
However, the most they worked was 4 days a week, at 3 hours per day.Mostly they worked maybe 2 or 3 days a week.
I went on vacation for 5 days expecting to come home to a new bathroom. They hadn't even started.
They had many, many excuses for each day they didn't work.
They took approximately 4 weeks to complete the kitchen.
They had stored bags of trash, a shop vac, paint can, tarp in my upstairs living area for 6 weeks.
They stored in my home: a paint compressor in my living room for 2 weeks; huge amount of items in the dining room for 4 weeks; and, a huge amount of stuff in the kitchen for 4 weeks.
I don't know why they brought a shop vac because they didn't clean up after themselves.
I vacuummed for hours getting paint off rugs, and under rugs. After they hauled their stored items from my 2nd floor, they left the stairs a filthy mess. Itt took a couple of hours to scrub the paint splatters off the kitchen floor.
They forgot to finish painting behind the refrigerator.
They did a poor job of sanding the kitchen walls after mud repairs.
One Friday night they ran the paint compressor until 7 p.m. Again, I didn't realize they weren't showing up until 2 or 3 p.m.
The final kicker was they wanted to stored their painting supplies in my bedroom. I told them "No" 6 times. Then they wanted to store stuff in my basement. Again, I told them "No" 4 times.
The ceiling was painted without sanding, as were the walls. The underside of upper cabinets were not painted. Several repairs contracted and paid for were not performed. A 3 x 3 area behind the refrigerator was not painted.
Update: The response from Ceiling Doctor is completely false. I referred NO ONE to their business.
I DID NOT schedule them for more work. I have another contractor scheduled, one who belongs to the Better Business Bureau, and can give referrals. Yes, I asked them to fix things, and they refused. I have no explanation for how terrible they were with the last project. All I can say is that another contractor will be getting my business with the other projects. Hire Ceiling Doctor at your own peril, especially if you want to scrape paint off your antique furniture, windows, floor, etc.
"We have been in business for over 30 years. Our business has been built by satisfied customers referring us to others and by repeat business from previous customers. This customer wrote very inaccurate and misleading information on Angie's List. We have completed 8 areas for her at different times over the past 9 months. She was so pleased she kept having us do more areas. She also referred other people to our company for work to be performed for them. The last day we completed her kitchen she asked us to please schedule her for her Master Bedroom to be done in Septemeber, which is the last area in her house for us to complete. We have never been contacted by her about any dissatisfaction for our professional work performed or to take her off our Septmeber schedule. We realize she has had a very stressful past year with difficult students, problems with co-workers, loss of a beloved pet, trouble with rusty plumbing bursting, electrical trouble, and problems with a supplier over a kitchen appliance. We tried to assist her in and through all of these difficult times, along with doing a professional quality job in all 8 areas we completed. Our business is built on our happy satified customers."
