Highview Plumbing repaired my sewer line. The line was broken as a result of tree roots that infiltrated the pipe. Highview Plumbing fixed the pipe by installing a cured in place pipe (CIPP). Highview did a great job with the installation and left virtually no trace once they were finished. The inside of my house was as clean as when they first arrived (no mean feat given all of the rain and mud on my lawn that day) and they left the driveway and lawn spotless when they finished the job. I enthusiastically recommend Highview Plumbing. They are very knowledgeable, courteous and extraordinarily diligent in their work. If you are looking for someone to install a CIPP pipe, look no further.

It went very well! Dan found that the dip in the main sewer line was minor and not in need of repair. He also was very informative about how we should maintain our line and what products to avoid. Thanks Dan!

We needed to dig down to a joint that was invaded by roots, and replace it. Dan and Susie and their son (sorry, didn't get his name) were responsive, punctual, professional, and lower priced than other bids I got. If I could give an A+, I would.

Dan was very attentive in providing an estimate and accommodating in scheduling to meet timeline for closing on the sale of the house. On the day they did the work, the crew showed up promptly in the morning as promised, Kyle & Kevin introduced themselves immediately on arriving at the house, were available for questions, and updated me on progress/next steps throughout the day. The whole crew was very professional; quite refreshing given the negative experience we've had with the contractor & his subs as we're concurrently remodeling our new home. The crew did a fantastic job getting the work done quickly, keeping the house clean as they needed to be in & out, and making the impact on the yard/grass & brand new driveway almost completely unnoticeable. I would highly, highly recommend!!!

Response from HIGHVIEW PLUMBING INC
"[Member Name Removed], I pulled the invoice regarding the work at at your Mom's house. The price you listed was incorrect. We worked with the neighbor and the City as the lines were cross connected. This minimized the cost to your mother. We also dispute the timeliness and workmanship rating you gave us. We did the job as soon as all parties were in agreement (the neighbor, the City, and you/your mother). In the end we saved everyone money where other contractors would have taken advantage of the situation. Our workmanship is far above par than our competitors as well. Feel free to contact our office, but we run our business based on our reputation, and feel your rating is a mis-representation of the work we actually did."

Dan Swenson's crew was punctual and despite a few surprises (not their fault), everything was completed in a timely fashion.
The process to set up this service took several weeks and Dan stayed in touch with me throughout.  He is one of the few in the Twin Cities that would even take on this rather ugly and challenging job.  Things could not have gone better in my opinion.  He has my highest recommendation.

One of the most professional service companies I have worked with.  We had them out the winter before as we thought we needed to have an emergency repair to our sewer pipe.  Highview could have gouged us big time, but instead they were completely honest, were able to root out the sewer pipe (that a previous rooter service couldn't do on two attempts), and didn't charge us a thing.  They honored their big from the previous year, which was lower than the other two bids I received.  Great communication, prompt, professional.  I'd recommend them in a second.

The city first examines the line from the house to the main line, using a video camera.  They were not able to reach the main line because neither the city nor I realized the line exited the back of the house.  Dan came out from Highview and used his special sensing equipment to determined the location of the line.  The city returned and inspected the line.  Their report showed a large area needing correction.  Dan contacted them and asked them to be more specific as to the location of the problems.  The city rechecked their video and was able to significantly decrease the amount of pipe that would need to be corrected, decreasing Highview's bill to me by $1,000.  Dan returned with his heavy equipment (a machine with a front end loader on one end and  a "digger" on the other end).  His men laid tarps around the two areas that would need to be dug up, and the dirt removed from the holes was placed on the tarps.  He inserted a liner into the pipe to correct the problem areas, returned the dirt to the holes, packing it down and smoothing it out so that the holes (at least 6 feet wide, long, and deep) will not be noticable once grass seed is planted.  When the tarps were removed, the grass beneath them looked untouched.  The entire mitigation was finished in one day.  I couldn't be happier.

During roadwork where sewer lines were replaced in Hopkins the crew found that I had "orangeburg" pipe which was not up to code and needed to be replaced.  As soon as I told my neighbors about this 3 of them all recommended Highview Plumbing and they didn't disappoint.
Dan came out and after looking at my pipes informed me that instead of ripping it all out that they could just line it instead which would be much less invasive (and less expensive!).
They had to dig a 4x4 hole in the yard and they did such a good job doing it carefully that I hardle noticed it when they were done.
Highview provided top notch service and I would recommend them to anyone in the West Metro.

Because we sold the house very quickly, we did not have much time to get the sewer line inspected by the city.  Unfortunately, it failed the inspection, and needed to be re-lined.  I called Highview, and they promptly came out and provided me with a written bid; when I told them we needed to get the work completed before the house closing, Dan assured me that they would.  After I accepted the bid, they came a few days later and completed the job. They did a great job....it required digging a hole about 12 feet deep in the front yard, but when they were done, it was difficult to even see where they dug.  The crew was very professional and completed the work on time.

The city requires that they re-inspect the line after the work is completed; that inspection passed, and the city inspector said that Highview did a very nice job.

I would highly recommend Highview to anyone that needs this type of work performed

They coordinated the repairs with our replacement drain tile installation  to minimize the mess and my time away from my job.  They sleeved the joint to avoid digging and causing possible damage to a nearby tree  They did all three repairs for about  the same price that was quoted by another company for just the sleeving.  .  I would recommend them highly.

The city determined that my water main was leaking and ordered that I
fix it within 4 weeks. I called Highland and 3 other contractors for
bids. Of the 4 calls, only 2 showed up. One never returned my call, one
made an appointment with me but never showed, one was 3 hours late and
then didn't sent the bid. Dan was at my house within 20 minutes of my
call. He was knowledgeable enough with the City personnel that he was
able to call them and ask about the leak they had found.Once he
confirmed their findings, Dan explained to me what needed to be done and
approximately how much it would cost. At that point I asked about the
main drain, figuring that if he had to dig a hole in my yard we might as
well do both. The main drain has needed a root cleaning about every
12-18 months due to the age of the pipe and the number of trees in the
yard. He ran a camera through the pipe and showed me the rots coming in
every two feet at each connection. He explained that they could put in a
new liner and make that pipe into one solid length from the house to
the street. I was all for that because the chances of ever having to
have roots cleaned out again was almost 0 in my lifetime.
I received
the quote in a timely fashion and we set a tentative date to start the
work (weather and emergency service could have changed the date but it
didn't). His crew, run by family members, showed up on time and the work
began. While they were working in the house, they were all VERY
respectful. They covered the stairs and the floor near the work area to
protect it from muddy boots.  The holes they needed to dig in the
basement floor were repaired beautifully and when they were finished
inside there was not a speck of dirt to be found. The work outside was
done very well, too. The dirt from the hole was put on tarps to not ruin
my lawn. The hole was well protected overnight so none of the neighbor
kids or pets would fall in. Because of rain it took them an extra half
day to finish the project, so it took about 2 days to complete. The work
was first class and the City inspector signed off.
The only
negative I have to mention was that when they filed in the hole in my
yard, somehow they didn't have enough dirt. It was probably due to the
removal of so many roots and rocks. I say this was a negative because it
took about 2 weeks for them to bring in dirt to finish filling the
hole. I knew they must have been busy because Dan came to finish the
hole filling by himself on a Sunday morning.
At that point the job was complete and I was a happy camper! Pleased to recommend Highland Plumbing to anyone in the West Metro!

I got estimates from the two companies recommended by the Edina city engineer.  Highview's bid was 30% less than the other contractor, and fortunately Highview was able to schedule an emergency fix for the next day. We went with Dan's recommendation for the Blue Poly 1" line, instead of the copper which we know from experience fails over time. It was a big job, with a large backhoe, and a pneumatic "gopher" powered by a huge compressor.  The crew (Kyle, Hout, & Dave) were top notch.  They were professional, had decades of experience, and could answer all of my questions.  They had to dig a 3 x 1 foot hole in my basement, and a huge hole in the back yard.  But it was all fixed, filled, concreted, and the sod replaced by early afternoon.  I couldn't be happier, nor could I give a higher recommendation.

I can't say how happy I am to have found Highview Plumbing! We were buying a house and  had the sewer line videoed during inspection by another company. They discovered a section were the pipe was broken and missing. Immediately, I began calling around and asking questions about the process and possible costs of replacement and lining, so I could understand whether we ended up doing it or the buyer. Dan was very helpful on the phone in that initial conversation, explaining the process to me. Our negotiations concluded with the seller putting money in escrow for us to complete the repair after taking possession of the house. I based the escrow number on the highest "theoretical", not having seen it, over-the-phone estimate I received, plus an added 20% cushion. You can imagine my stress level when we took possession and started getting final estimates from other companies based on videoing the line and the estimates came back several thousands of dollars more than we had in escrow! Highview was the third company we got a final estimate from. Dan was very polite, professional, and knowledgeable. Much to my relief, their estimate was within that escrow amount. Dan worked with us to get the work scheduled within the short time frame we had. The day the work was done, I continued to be impressed with their service. Kyle and the crew arrived on time, took care to remove shoes, etc., every time they came in the house. They discovered some hiccups along the way and had to hand-dig a section they didn't expect to dig, and backhoe another section. Despite these frustrations, every time I asked Kyle how it was going, he replied with a huge smile and explained what they were doing. His positive attitude was great. I was concerned that since it was taking longer than it normally might, the cost might run over our escrow amount, but Kyle assured me that we wouldn't have to pay more than the original estimate because they were having a rough time of it. In the end, the final bill was still under the escrow amount. Not only did they charge us less than the competitors estimates, their professional and positive attitudes made them a pleasure to work with. We couldn't be happier with the service we received!

We could contain the leak with some towels, but it kept getting worse over the course of about a day; we decided we needed to get it fixed before it started flooding the basement.  Dan came out on a Sunday afternoon, fixed the problem in less than an hour, and was great about it.

Dan came out to investigate and determined that the hole was due to an abandoned sepic system which we did not know existed.  Dan was familiar with our street and said that when our house was built in 1966 there was no city sewer line.  The city sewer line was put in around 1970.  Originally, I had the city sewer department come out to look at the mysterious hole and they were only able to tell me that it was "not the city sewer line". With Dan's experience in the area he was readily able to identify the issue.

Dan was very responsive when I first had the sewer back up in January.  He came out and used a blow bag to bandaid the situation until they could come in the spring & do the repair.  With his fix & being careful about water useage I didn't have any more problems until they could come back & do the repair.  My house is 63 years old so I've known for a few years that the drain pipe going out to the street needed to be replaced.  The previous owner had replaced about 1/2 of it & Dan actually did the repair at that time.  As soon as they could get out in March & do the repair Dan called me & they were out within the week.  The crew was prompt, put tarps down to set the dirt they dug up & left everything as neat as possible.  It is so refreshing to have good customer service and follow up when dealing with a project this big.  Their price was 2/3 of what RotoRooter quoted me 5 years ago to have it done.  I would definitely use Highview again & recommend them highly!

Dan and his family could have have been nicer and more professional. I had a main drain back up and talked to about 20 people in 4 days from drain specialists to plumbers because I was just not satisfied with any of the responses or prices I got- and these were recommendations from co-workers and friends. (Exactly how does one give a quote without seeing the problem first hand?) And I am glad I did not settle at the first couple of quotes and recommendations.

Dan came out within an hour or two of my phone call and was one of the few people who did NOT charge me to camera the drain. He also was one of the few that didn't drip sewerage all over my bathroom that I had just cleaned for the 5th time in 4 days. He emailed me a quote which was far less than anybody else I had spoken with. When they "boys" (his sons) came to excavate with a back hoe, they also worked so quickly and neatly you can hardly tell that they were there. They cleaned up after themselves inside and out.

I was a little nervous when they ran into a problem- the pipe was cracked further out than what they expected- they were going to have to dig and replace more. They said they would send me a bill with the new dollar amount when they were finished. I was afraid I was going to be taken advantage of since this was not part of the original quote. But, even with the additional work- it was still less than anyone else I had spoken with. Oh, and did I say the did NOT make a mess?!

Just call Highview and be done with it.

The city required that we have our sewer main lined in order to get a certificate we may need if we sell the house. I solicited three bids and selected Highview. They did a great, quick job. It required excavation in our front yard, which they handled fine and did a nice job of retaining and returning our sod to its position.
