Never Again! I called to reserve a time to have D&D inspect my car while I waited. When I got there, I was told they expected me to drop off the vehicle, but went ahead with the inspection anyway. They charged me $24+ just to do the inspection, and told me I needed a new muffler and other components - $740. I took my car to another shop less than 2 miles away. They told me my muffler was fine; only needed to replace a flange. I paid them $100 for that repair and voila! Good as new. I called the manager of D&D to report my displeasure, and he said he'd look into it right away. I never heard anything back, and I will never be going back here.

Perfect. On time and under budget

Eric and team are honest and candid car and truck experts. They always take into account the level of risk and estimated length of ownership when assessing the need for repairs to my vehicles. This is especially important and appreciated when it comes to multiple repairs potentially observed but recommending only the necessary ones to keep my family and I safe. it is helpful for me to be aware of it so I can budget for it at a later date such as my AC condenser (potentially $800 repair). They speak to me in friendly and understood terms and I have liked them so much it's been 10 plus years of seeing them for all my car care.

Problem with my car,  turn key but wont start.  Since the battery is new,  I knew the starter had gone bad.  D&D insisted to do electrical system test and charged $40, and later found it is the starter problem, which I had suspected before.
Other shop I had gone to would not do the extra testing for this , and I would have saved the extra $40.

Dand D mechanics are always very thorough and provide quality service at a fair price. We never feel that they are trying to sell us something that we don't need. We have an older pickup and they are very honest on what work needs or should be done on it. I have recommended them to several of my friends.

It went great. This service station always checks with you if they find more work that needs to be done. Then they tell you the approximate price, and they're always accurate.

I have taken my cars here for almost 10 years. They do a good job and seem to truly value their customer relationships--they have helped me out several times when I have had last minute issues (e.g., and quot;I'm driving to Madison tomorrow and my car just started making a weird noise!and quot;). I totally trust them and it is nice to have a mechanic that I actually know and can call. All of the work they have done over the years has been done well.

I bring my car to Dand D because even though I don't think they are the most inexpensive place to take my car, I do trust them. And trust is something I'd pay extra for when dealing with an automotive repair company. For instance this month I brought my car in because I was wondering if my brakes needed replacing. They have been squeaking (but they always squeak when wet and it has been wet all month). Dand D told me that they don't need to be replaced yet, about 40% life left. I think most places would have gone ahead and told me they needed to be done and charged me the extra.

This is only the most recent work I have had Eric and Joe do on my vehicles. Over the last 15 or so years, I have found Eric's D and D repair shop to be:

Technically superior
Perform out standing work.If something goes array (e.g. bad after market part etc.), Eric has it fixed at no additional cost.
Trustworthy - They only fix what is broken
I can't say enough good things about Eric and hid D and D crew.

D and D Autoworks is really knowledgeable and straightforward. They're a great company to work with. I feel that they're honest. I think they're not necessarily the cheapest but they have done the job right the first time. They are always the best.

I don't bring them specifically only for oil changes but they do all of our car maintenance. They have two addresses one is in Minneapolis and one might be St. Louis Park. I go to the one at Minnetonka Boulevard. I bring them over about twice a year.

Nothing bad to say. I really should try to keep them a secret.

Luther Hyundai Service department told me that the noise that my brakes were an imminent failure that required a full replacement which totaled almost $1000. I got a second opinion at D and D. They immediately said that the brakes just needed to be cleaned. Very fast service, personal service, and technically solid. D and D is the best auto repair shop that I have ever been to. I will be taking my cars here going forward.

I couldn't get in to the D & D on Minnetonka Blvd so they had me call the Lake St shop. They were able to get me in the same day. They were quick, however the mechanic had broken my door handle off. He tried to act as if it was like that when I dropped it off, and said he had trouble opening my door. I have never had trouble opening my door and anyone else who had driven my car had never had trouble opening my door with the handle. There was no "trick" to it. I requested that he repair it at no charge and he complied. I would not use this service again because of the way he acted as if it was that way when I dropped it off. I would fear they would not take responsibility for something they did wrong in the future.

Exceptional service and job!

They are very fast and friendly. They had my car late on Friday and I had it back early Saturday morning. I have recommended them in two occasions and would recommend them further.

Upon going to the Toyota dealership, I had been told that I needed an $800 repair on my Toyota which was starting intermittently. Erik was able to diagnose the problem, fix it for about half that, and it's worked perfectly since, even when extremely cold out. Erik has worked on all my cars, as well as those of many family members and friends (upon my recommendation). I have always been pleased with the fact that Erik and Will tell you exactly what needs to be done without overcharging or doing unnecessary repairs. I won't take another car to a dealership or anywhere but Dand D, as I totally trust them.

Great. I setup the appointment in advance and they were ready for me when I got there. They checked the car, took it for a test drive, and I got it back soon there after.

The experience with their services was excellent. First of all, we were recommended to them and they told us everything they were going to do before they did the work. I just thought their price was right on and they were very personable.

Our A/C on our Corolla didn't seem to be pumping out the cold as it should, so we took it to the dealer to check. Toyota dealer told us we had a hole in our condenser and it would cost about $1100 to fix. Decided to call Dand D due to friends and Angie's List recommendations and Erik confirmed that that price would be about right for that type of work. We scheduled everything, he ordered the part and we dropped off the car. He called me the next day and said the dealer was wrong and there wasn't any hole in the condenser, but the A/C was down a couple of pounds of freon. He said they would drain and recharge the condenser and add some dye which would allow them to trace if there was a leak and we could bring it back in a week to have them check. There wasn't. The charge was $139 which was a whole lot better than $1100 and I figured they could have gone ahead and done the whole job and we wouldn't have known any better. I think that is a great testimony to their honesty. We will be using them again.

They were terrific, specifically Paul and Eric. They know Subaru's and I never had the feeling that they were trying to take advantage of me, something that can so often happen with auto repairs. They returned calls when they said they would, they were very friendly and took time to explain not only what was called for but what my options were, i.e. what had to be done in order to have the car be safe and what could wait. As a newcomer to the Twin Cities it's really important to me to find trustworthy repair folks. Eric and his shop are top shelf. They have two "bays" and are busy. I mentioned that I found them on Angie's List (and the Car Talk site) and they had no idea what I was talking about so I educated them a bit. Eric had me return within 100 miles so he could check things out, a nice gesture and indicative of the kind of service and care they provide. They are just terrific.
