Excellent services. S & S was fast, professional and provided quality work. The three spruce trees were removed within 45 minutes, and the crew did such a good job of coping up the stumps and clean up, you would never have known that there were trees there at one time. The trimming of the maple tree left it looking very nice, and got its branches away from our roof.

They did their bidding while I was at work. They do leave at your door all the documentation one would need. My only complaint is that I didn't have much forewarning of when they would cut it down (24 hours). They did a great job bringing it down. I asked them to leave some of the tree for firewood (I would cut up) and they left me a great supply. Even the bark resulted in great shape to make knife handles. They organized the power-line drop with the utility company, which might have explained the short notice (not sure). I was about to call to get a status when the same day they called me. This company has my recommendation, and I am glad nobody got hurt. The tree had a bad infection of birch bore and it had to come down. My only regret was that, I wasn't home to watch it come down.

The estimate was provided in a timely manner. However, I was called on by two separate estimators on subsequent days. The second estimate (from the same company) was about half of the first for the same work. The work was performed in a timely manner and exactly as requested.

I called S & S Tree for this because it's where Mark Stennes is. He's the top guy in the region (maybe in the country) on Dutch Elm Disease. Used to be with Top Notch Tree Care and is now with S & S Tree. He treated my elm tree two years ago and it was time for a follow up. He came out to inspect the tree and draw up the work order. Mandi was the horticulture technician who came out to actually treat the tree. Mark then came back to take another look at the tree and spent time talking with me about the elm and other tree subjects. I thought the whole experience was great. great expertise, great service, prompt return of phone calls, and a top specialist ensuring great quality control.

After a couple days, I was told that they had record of my call but I was lost in their computer system.

They are very knowledgeable about trees and plant life.

The company as a whole was very professional. Person answering the phone was very polite and responsive. The company came out to provide the estimate in a very timely manner, which was appreciated. The package they left with the estimate included great information, including copies of insurance polices. The only reason I did not go with S&S and this is a big reason was their estimate was double the cost as compared to bids I received from other tree service companies. Note that I received bids from 5 other companies.

Company came out and gave an estimate, leaving a nice folder with their information and liability insurance policies, very professional. We were able to schedule the date we wanted a week or so later. They arrived in the morning, set up a crane in the driveway, a chipper in the street in front of the house, and went to work. Because the tree was in the backyard and so close to the house, someone climbed the tree, winched a strap attached to the crane around a branch, and then cut the limb. I had to leave and told my husband to call if they put a hole in the house, but forgot about it as soon as I left, because they were doing such a professional, efficient job. Having proof of their liability insurance helped, too. I think the whole thing took only a couple of hours. No stump removal. I give a ''B'' for the price, only because it seems like a lot of money to cut down a tree, but I think they were very reasonable compared with other tree companies.

I was extremely impressed. I got estimates from four companies and S&S was the least expensive. They used a crane to lift the tree as it was cut over my garage to the alley. They said it would only a couple of hours and it only took that long. They were meticulous in cleaning up and were very careful with my garden plants. I have a garden that is very special to me and is a very large investment, so this was of particular concern. Their crew was very good, courteous and thorough. I would strongly recommend this company, and we will use them in the future.

Very good. They took all trees and branches down with ropes and climbers. They were very careful, professional, and it only took about an hour, maybe 2 hours. Clean up was very good.

They did a great job. We will have them back again. The trees that are gone now looks so much better and clearer.

ABOUT 5 PEOPLE CAME TO PERFORM THE WORK, WHICH THEY DID IN ABOUT AN HOUR. SEVERAL LABORERS WERE JUST STANDING AROUND WATCHING. THEY CLIPPED AWAY ACCORDING TO THEIR FORMULA WITHOUT ASKING MY PREFERENCES. I THINK THEY DID A GOOD JOB, BUT CHARGED WAY TOO MUCH FOR THE WORK.

S&S CAME OUT TO LOOK AT THE TREE THE DAY AFTER I CALLED. THEY LEFT SOME DETAILED LITERATURE ON TREE SERVICE, AS WELL AS A PROPOSAL AND ESTIMATE. THEIR ESTIMATE WAS BY FAR THE CHEAPEST OF THE THREE I RECEIVED. ONE DRAWBACK IS THEY WOULD PROVIDE A FREE ESTIMATE ONLY FOR TREE REMOVAL, NOT ADVICE AS TO WHETHER IT NEEDED TO BE REMOVED. (THAT THEY CHARGE $70 FOR.) I TOOK ANOTHER COMPANY'S ADVICE THAT IT NEEDED TO BE REMOVED, HOWEVER (AS I ASSUMED MYSELF THAT WAS THE CASE). WHEN I HIRED S&S TO DO THE WORK, I WAS TOLD THEY WERE BOOKED FOR 2-3 WEEKS, BUT THEY ENDED UP CALLING AND COMING TO DO THE WORK THE FOLLOWING WEEK AFTER ALL. THEY DID A GOOD JOB AND LEFT NO MESS IN MY YARD. OVERALL, I'M PLEASED WITH THEIR WORK.

VERY PROMPT SCHEDULING INSPECTION/ESTIMATE. ANSWERED ALL MY QUESTIONS ON THE QUOTE AND PERFORMED WORK WITHIN TIME THEY SPECIFIED WELL AND NEATLY.

THE SERVICE WAS PROMPT, COMPLETE, WITH GOOD CLEAN UP. THE FOREMAN WAS POLITE AND HELPFUL.

THE PRICE WAS HIGH, BUT COMPARABLE TO OTHER ESTIMATES. THOSE ANSWERING THE PHONES WERE ALWAYS KIND AND RESPONSIVE. THE TREE WAS SITUATED IN A TIGHT SPOT SURROUNDED BY TWO HOUSES, TWO GARAGES AND UP AGAINST A FENCE. THE MAN IN THE TREE WAS AGILE AND QUICK. THE CREW WORKED WELL AS A TEAM TO GET THE TREE DOWN NEATLY AND PICKED UP BOTH MY AND MY NEIGHBOR'S YARD. THEY WERE VERY CONSCIOUS OF SAFETY AND VERY CONSIDERATE OF MY NEIGHBOR'S CONCERNS. THEY ARRANGED WITH EXCEL TO DROP THE LINES AND REPLACE THEM.

WE DECIDED NOT TO DO THE WORK IMMEDIATELY BECAUSE OF THE EXPENSE.

THEY DID AN ESTIMATE WHEN I WAS NOT AROUND AND THEY MISSED A TREE THAT I HAD ASKED TO BE ON THE ESTIMATE AND I ENDED UP HAVING TO PAY MORE. THE MAIN REASON WHY I HAD THEM WAS TO REMOVE THE DEAD BRANCHES AND THEY DID NOT DO A VERY THOROUGH JOB. THEY HAD THREE PEOPLE DOING CLEAN UP AND AFTER THEY LEFT I HAD A LOT OF STICKS THAT I HAD TO PICK UP MYSELF. VERY DISAPPOINTING.

STEVE CAME OUT AND GAVE ME AN ESTIMATE. THEY HAVE NICE BROCHURES AND HE WAS GREAT IN EXPLAINING WHAT THEY WOULD DO. HE WAS HONEST AND UPFRONT ABOUT WHAT WOULD NEED TO BE DONE IN PREPARATION - LIKE DISCONNECTING THE POWERLINES AND TAKING DOWN SOME FENCE SECTIONS. THEIR PRICE WAS THE HIGHEST OF ALL MY BIDS AND I WENT WITH ANOTHER TREE REMOVAL COMPANY.

THEY WERE PLEASANT TO DEAL WITH, SEEMED TO KNOW WHAT THEY WERE DOING, AND WORKED QUICKLY AND SKILLFULLY. OUR NEIGHBORS HAD A TREE SERVICE OUT THE NEXT DAY THAT DID A HORRIBLE JOB ON THEIR TREE - IT MADE ME APPRECIATE THIS COMPANY'S WORK ALL THE MORE.
