Robert was very responsive and kept his word on promised timeline. Very professional and fair pricing.

Hired to conduct neutral appraisals on two homes and was very disappointed. He made many errors in specifics like the number of bedrooms and square footage. After asking him multiple times over the last 6 weeks to correct the errors, I have given up. Now I have to sue to recover the $1000 spent and hire a different appraiser. Beware!

Very gracious and got our first buyers appraisal completed a few days faster than normal due to a mistake that we made. When that house turned out to be right for us we hired Mr. LaFind to perform our next appraisal just a few weeks later. He's professional, kind, patient with first time buyers and has decades of experience. The rate was a little higher than what we found other appraisals could cost and that money was well spent.

We made an appointment with Robert La Fond to do the appraisal on our home on a Sunday afternoon. Robert was very courteous, pleasant and personable to work with. Robert was very professional and thorough in his inspection of the property while he gathered the information for the appraisal. Robert explained the appraisal processes and answered all our questions. Robert promised to have the appraisal done by Tuesday afternoon and he delivered on time as promised. I would highly recommend Robert La Fond & Associates for your next appraisal. I would definitely use his services again.

There was (if I recall correctly) a bit of to-ing and fro-ing in the process of getting the appraisal done, but everything worked out quite well. Work was done on time and on budget, and the provided appraisal was accepted by the City and my taxes reduced. Bob made a couple of minor adjustments to the report at my request and provided a final PDF file. Wish I'd done it a year ago!

Bob gave as a verbal appraisal in around 24 hours. The appraisal was within reasonable range of the price we agreed on with the seller. We were then able to proceed with scheduling inspections the following day.
Bob then delivered the appraisal report the evening following his verbal appraisal. The report was very thorough and professional. Bob is probably has the most experience and the highest level of skill in the Twin Cities. We were very fortunate he had time on his calendar when we needed his services.

Absolutely wonderful experience. Mr. LaFond arrived within five minutes of our app't time, and proved to be easy to talk to. He asked very concise and insightful questions, and listened carefully to our answers. He adjusted his level of communication to match our level of technical knowledge regarding home maintenance and repairs. He was very thorough in his inspection, and very patient with our questions to him. At no time did he seem rushed or in a hurry to get to his next job. We felt well taken care of.
Aside from being a skilled appraiser, Mr. LaFond also brought years of experience as a former Realtor with him. His advice on what repairs/updates to include or leave be undoubtedly saved us thousands of dollars in work that would not have returned the cost to us in increased sale value.
Mr. LaFond is a little more expensive than other appraisers at $500, but we felt we got more than our monies worth. He had done a lot of research into what the local market was like, with several comparables that we had not found in our own web research. His comments on the finished appraisal were easy to understand, logical, and showed his expertise in the field.
We highly recommend Mr. LaFond, and would gladly use his services again.
