Driveway failed within first year due to poor quality asphalt mix. Company states we are demanding our money back. We are not. We are demanding the Company honor its one-year warranty and its work and replace the driveway using a quality asphalt mix free of foreign material, ferrous (pyrites). Company met with us on site and told us the driveway was stained from well water and there were no issues with their work. We are not concerned about the staining, we are concerned with the structural failure of the driveway. See the pictures. The Company offered to sealcoat the driveway, which will do nothing to correct the underlying problem. The driveway is failing due to marble size holes forming across the entire driveway from the pyrites in the asphalt mix coming popping out at the surface. The Company purchased the asphalt mix, they are responsible for the materials they use. They state they "do know how to correct the problem". Correcting the problem will require a new driveway. See the pictures to view the holes. If they will not correct the problem then they need to compensate us for the driveway so we can hire someone that can replace the one-year old driveway. We do not want our money back. We want what we paid them for - a quality asphalt residential driveway that will last for years to come and not fall apart in year one. Do not hire this company you will be sorry you did. They have proven unwilling to honor their warranty and stand by their work .

JBT Blacktop did not stand by one year warranty. Owners were rude to deal with and offered to seal cost as their only response. They blamed failure on well water. An informed provider would be more knowledgeable about issue with pyrites in asphalt — or they are simply lying, which I believe is the case. Do NOT use this company they will not stand by their work and warranty.

I am extremely impressed with JBT. There was an issue with the original work, and Mitch bent over backwards to correct the problem. He has a lot of pride in his work, and has a tremendous amount of integrity. He is a man of his word. Extremely pleased with the end results and would recommend JBT to anyone.

In early spring, we got several bids from many top-rated companies, and JBT was about $500 less than the others' bids.
However, getting them scheduled to come and do the work was really tough mainly due to the lady who works in their office and answers the phone when you call. We wanted to get on their schedule and we called and told her. She said she'd put us on the schedule. A month goes by, we don't hear anything. We checked back with her, and she said "don't worry you're on our schedule. We'll call you when we have a date for you." Then more time passes and we don't hear from them, and we call her again and she says "I don't see you on our schedule." She was going to check into that. Then more time passes, we call and she says "You're not on our schedule because we can no longer do your project. We don't have a subcontractor any more to do concrete work."  (Originally, when they gave us a bid, they also bid on a small concrete project we had, which we decided not to have them do.) Of course, nobody called to tell us this ... they just kept us in limbo, and we had left a message earlier saying we weren't going to have them do the concrete work.
Anyway, once we got the owner Mike's phone number and talked directly to him (it always took him a few days to call us back when we left a message) and cleared things up, then things went well. Tear out of the old driveway went well, and we waited about two weeks for the gravel to dry out, and then they put the new asphalt down. Very fast, efficient crew led by the father and son, who are the owners.
A good thing about JBT is they don't get hung up on little details or nickel and dime you on little changes. We had two areas at the top of the driveway where we were having new asphalt put down, one was a pad for the garbage cans and one was a triangular flare out, where the drive way met our sidewalk.  We changed the sizes slightly from the original estimate and they happily did it without changing the price.
I recommend being there when they put in your new driveway. There were a couple of corners on our driveway that I thought needed an extra shovel of asphalt so they were more solid, so I told them as they were finishing up and they had no problem filling them in for me.
At the end, they'll take your garden hose and spray your driveway to make sure water drains properly, and if it doesn't, they'll use the roller to compact it more where it needs it. It's a good way to test it.
Our new driveway turned out very nice and we're happy they saved us at least $500 compared to their competitors.
Overall, I'd give them an "A" if it wasn't for having to deal with the office lady and the unorganized scheduling process and delays in scheduling.

The process was fairly slow, but not at the fault of JBT.  They tore our the concrete driveway, and then had to let the area rest for about 3 weeks before putting blacktop over the area.  My area in plymouth is waterlogged clay, so that had to dry out prior to the finishing work being done.  Even though JBT was not at fault for the drying time, it would have been nice to have more frequent touchbase points throughout the process.  However, they returned all my calls promptly and I felt that the business owner, Mike, was trustworthy and genuinely wanted to do good work.  I received their name from a realtor, who has used them multiple times, and I would too, if needed.

I was satisfied at the time, but it was not really necessary on a 3-year-old driveway, and the sealant started to wear off in less than a year.

JBT installed a new asphalt driveway and it went very well. Their price was competitive with others and their work was great.

They showed up when they said they would and they installed it exactly as we had requested.

They cleaned up afterwards and wanted to know if we were completely satisfied. Very friendly and hard working crew. I would highly recommend them.

Absolutely an amazing experience. Top class service. I have worked with several different contractors over the years, but this was quite possibly my best experience yet. Mike and his crew showed up with all of their equipment, right on time. I had received several estimates from blacktoppers for this project, all of which said they would not do the project until spring, which just didn't work for my specific needs. Mike got back with my estimate earlier in the week and I was satisfied by the price (they killed the competition) and they were able to do it before the winter, so I accepted immediately. They told me they could get out later this week and called me on the morning of to confirm details. There was a fence and some brush where the parking pad was going that I brought several tools to take out before they got there. They were there right on time though, before I could get the fence out of their way, but they offered to take it out with the bobcat for me, which was much easier!
They got right to work clearing the area very quickly and efficiently. After the area was prepared they had to make a trip to the nearby plant to get hot mix for the project. While they were out, they stopped and brought back lunch for their crew members, and even bought me a sandwich! Just unbelievable thought and service. Their work was flawless, their customer service was top notch, and the experience is unmatched.

They handled several problems when they dug out the old tar very well and did a fantastic job of levelling for water runoff on a difficult site.

They did a fantastic job. By far the least expensive of the estimates and so nice to deal with. Very much a family-owned business based on trust. The driveway looks amazing and we are very happy. I've already referred JBT to friends.

It went very well. I checked three other options and am very pleased with the results from this vendor.

They did exactly as they said they would. The only problem was they showed up late due to highway construction, but they called to inform me of this.

JBT did a great job of removing the old driveway and reinstalling new asphalt. With equipment breakdown at one point they were back up and running is a short period of time.
