Gold Star Contracting

I recently had wind and hail damage to my rental home that required me to replace the roof and the siding on the entire house. Gold Star did a great job installing both and the end result looks great. As I live in another state, Jake from Gold Star was in constant contact me with providing updates on the progress and sending me pictures of the result as the work was completed. Work was done on time and my renters said they did a great job of coordinating with them and cleaning up when they were done. Being that this was my first property insurance claim I had to make, I was a bit stressed about the whole process. After my initial contact with the insurance company, Jake took over and made this a piece of cake as well. He handled all the communication with them and submission of estimates while keeping me informed the entire time of what was going on. They did a fantastic job and I would highly recommend them to anyone!

From the start, Jake and Lak were very responsive, professional and personable.  They worked with my insurance company through the process of getting approval for an entire roof, rather than just for a few replacement shingles.  GSC came out to meet the insurance adjuster, as well as coming out before the roofing work started to meet with the solar installers to make sure GSC had a thorough understanding of how to flash around the solar racking.   The solar installers put the solar panels back up the day after the roof work, and they had glowing reports of what a good job the roofers did.  GSC did more "precautionary" work above what was recommended by the Solar installers, which was flashing around the rack joists.  GSC took the extra step of adding in ice and water shield around each rack obstruction as well.  Solar installers report that the roof work was one of the best they've seen, and clean, both on roof and gutters and as I noted, on the ground surrounding the house.  The crew worked fast, doing the rip-off and re-roof in less than a day.  Jake and Lak are both great to work with and really seem dedicated to ensuring they have happy customers, delivering quality work.  Hail storm was the beginning of August, and even considering the extra "approval" time needed to get insurance company approval for the full roof, the project is now completed less than 2 months later.

They were very responsive. Once estimate done, they worked with insurance adjuster. Work was completed in one day and all was cleaned up. They met with us based on our schedules. We may need windows replaced at some point so will most likely call them to do work.

Jake from Goldstar came out and gave us the initial estimate.  He also was there when our insurance adjuster came to look at the roof.  He did not apply any pressure to have us go through him.  The day the reroof took place, the dumpster, shingles, and crew all showed up at the house before 7:30 am.  Jake showed up before I left for work to see how the project was going.  He told us if we didn't like something, he would come back and fix it.  Later, we didn't like how a soffit looked on an overhang and called Jake in April 2011.  He came out right away, 6 months after the job was completed, and pulled the soffit back down. I recommend Goldstar.  The crew and materials were timely.  Jake was professional and friendly.  He called back within one hour of me leaving a message.  Also, we have had no problems with our new roof, and it has been one year since the install.
