I was looking for someone that could re-dye bleach spots on carpet. I talked to three companies that said they could remedy the problem. One of them guaranteed me that he would take care of it issue, but he charged a big price. I had a referral to George’s Cleaning Systems in Shakopee. I called and explained what I needed done and Kevin, the owner, said that is something they could do and the guy that does that for him would give me a call. Tad called and told me re-dying was something they did and gave me a reasonable quote. There was no talk of a guarantee but he said he could make a huge improvement to where spots would be unnoticeable. He came out and did the work. He was friendly and cordial. The spots weren’t perfect, but looked much less noticeable. I was satisfied with the results. When he left, he mentioned that if I had problems I should give a call. As a couple of months passed, the spots slowly came back and became quit visible again. I called Tad about it and he came back out at no charge. I had another contractor at my home at the same time so I didn’t see what was done to the spots and we didn’t have an exchange other than he was done and to let him know if I had additional problems. I noticed it felt like a marble when I stepped on the spots and when I looked closely, it looked like the carpet fibers had been glued together to try to cover the spots. And again, the spot area slowly became more obvious as the dye wore away. I made another call to Tad about the problems. He came out again and I asked him why the spots felt like a marble. He had no response and looked at one spot and told me very rudely that there was nothing more he could do and I would have to find someone else to fix them. I asked him for my money back so I could hire the person that guaranteed to fix the spots. As he was walking out the door, he said no way would he refund my money. Because Tad wouldn’t share what he did to cause the lumps, I do not know what to tell someone else they would have to consider to repair them. I then left several messages and emails with George’s Cleaning Systems and it wasn’t until I said I would be writing negative reviews that Kevin returned my calls. He listened to the story and had multiple excuses for the end results. He made it sound like he would like to help me out and told me the next step would be to cut the spots out and replace with carpet cut out of a closet. He asked me to take photos of the spots so he knew what he was dealing with. Within the hour, I had photos sent to the number he supplied. When I didn’t hear from him after a couple of days, I called and left a message to make sure he received the photos and what he determined could be done. After a couple of months and several calls and emails to the business, there has been no response. My feeling is that both Kevin and Tad put on a good show, but when it comes to quality and customer service, they are very lacking and take advantage any way they can. If I had been shown some before and after pictures of their work prior to hiring them, I would probably have spent the money on replacing the carpet instead of having worse issues from their “fix”, or hiring the person that guaranteed his work. If they wanted to actually represent their work to future customers, they could use my photos, but I highly doubt they will as they would lose business.

Tad came in and immediately began the clean-up, first by wet vacuuming up as much standing water as possible, opening up the wall between these two rooms and then setting up as many as 6 huge fans and a giant dehumidifier to dry out all the impacted areas. Once everything was set, he departed and told me he would be back in two days to see how things were progressing. He did that, made some adjustments, took readings and then would come back three more times to check on things. When 99% of the carpeting was dry, he insisted on leaving one fan in place to complete the drying in a corner. He was not going to allow a potential mold situation to develop, even in a very small area. Once the drying was complete, Tad cleaned the carpeting twice (only charging me for one cleaning0 and then put back up the wall coverings and some wall board he had to remove to dry out the space between the walls. Once it all was done, the place looked better than ever! Georges was founded by Tad's father 47 years ago. They have built a reputation for outstanding work and fair pricing. That the owner of the business, himself, would come out on a Sunday to take on this work was so impressive to me. Georges has major commercial clients, including the Vikings, but I don't see how the level of service given to big customers could be any better than what he gives to homeowners. Georges will have our families carpet cleaning business from now on!
