Do not do business with this company.  If you have any type of issue with this company, the owner Jay does not want to hear about it.  He will tell you that there are a lot bigger problems in the world than yours.  He has absolutely no customer service.  We had an issue with defective carpet being installed.  It took 3 visits to our home before it was decided to order new carpet.  They do not talk with their contractors at all.  Had they done so, it would have saved us a couple of visits.  When the carpet was in to replace our carpet, their was a large oil/grease stain in the carpet.  The contract installer was told to just clean it and to not tell us.  Luckily, we had an honest installer and he told us the carpet was stained. Finally, on the third time, we were given a decent piece of carpet installed.  For all of our time and having to take off from work, absolutely no discount was offered.   Do not do business with this company.  They are dishonest and do not believe in customer service.

The whole experience was great- from the showroom to the install. Nicole and Jay were both extremely helpful and patient with us (we had several questions); Jay came out and measured for us twice and Nicole sent us several different estimates showing us our various options. The price was better than fair, the quality of the carpet is excellent, and the install went great. We will definitely use them for future projects.

Very pleased with service from the assistance I received in the showroom, to the price, to the actual service.   I was a little nervous about using Thoroughbred due to some of the reviews I had read with concerns on installation, but went with them because the price was significantly better than the other quote I received.   I voiced my concern when I placed the order, and the salesperson assured me they would make sure I was satisfied.
Installers showed up on time, were very professional, very detailed and meticulous.  I am very pleased with the result, and would definitely use them again.

The whole experience was frustrating. Linoleum was delayed a week but we were never notified via email or voicemail.  Then, despite being told explicitly to not plug 2 electrical items into a particular outlet, the installers did it anyway and it blew a breaker- and toasted the office computer which was tied into that outlet. (We had surge protector that did not do its job, but still, it need not have happened.)  Day after installation a 3' bubble in the middle of the floor. Called, and was told by our saleswoman, "Oh, that's normal, it will go down."  2 days later the bubble was still there. Installation returned and had to cut out a piece of the linoleum, staple down the sub-floor (which had not been done) and piece-in install a 3x3-foot section. Even then we had to call and have him come back out yet again because the fit was too tight and buckling a little.
We had intended to have TC install carpeting on the whole main floor, but cancelled the order, needing the funds elsewhere.  I do not have the heart to give them a D rating, but it certainly is a C- for just too many issues.
On the plus side the linoleum looks beautiful now.

The sales woman was very professional.
The installation was alright.  He was a very nice guy, but he was a bit unprofessional at times.  He did do a good job installing the product.  I had to help him move my appliances that I said I wanted to have moved.  I don't mind that because he did discount my bill.  That being said his job ran long and I was left to clean up the house because he ran out quickly.  I was not thrilled about that.  But the smaller details were left out.  He did not install the transition pieces that I was told he would install.  He left me to install and purchase the transitions.
If the installation experience was better I could say this company was a pleasure to work with.

Each step went without a hitch. The installers were professional and neat. They vacuumed the areas where the furniture would go before putting back the furnishings. Cleaned up after the installation. We had an issue after the installation that was resolved with one visit from the carpet manufacturer's representative.

The quality of the carpet was fine, but the installation was not good.  They came to measure and they said we needed some more carpet, which we agreed.  He was still short and he blamed the one that ordered the carpets to begin with.  He was yelling at us.  The installers didn’t listen to us and they left a huge mess.  The owner’s son came out and was rude and very unprofessional.  He was defensive and was criticizing the work of the people who installed the wood floors.  He didn’t charge us for the extra additional carpet that was short from when he measured.  However, it was just an awful experience.
Response from Thoroughbred Carpets
"This customer came to buy wholesale; and then was left without an installer. We agreed to complete the work for her but she wanted it based on the carpet that had been ordered with her previous installer that does not work for our company. That installer measured incorrectly and we are completely confused on to why she would be unhappy; we completed the job professionally and didn't even charge her for the extra carpet or the extra trip needed to complete the job based on her original contractor."

Rob at Thoroughbred came out and measured and gave us a quote quickly on some of our carpetting samples. We were back and forth on a bunch of different types of carpet. He gave us the pros and cons of each and left the decision to us. They were excellent with service, installation and clean up.  I would recommend them to everyone.

Third time I have gotten carpet from Thouroughbred.  They are competitively priced, great selection and can install very soon after purchase.  From sales staff to installers, they know their product--this is all they do so you can trust their expertise.  Also, after research, I learned that their lowest grade of carpet is the best offered by big box stores yet they remain competitively priced.  We have a couple rooms still to recarpet and I will not look anywere else!

Everything was great. I went to to the store and the sales rep, Ali was very helpful and not pushy. She pointed me directly to what I was looking for, let me select some options, then sent me home with some swatches. Within a week, I had picked out the carpet and set up an install date. I live in a 100+ year old house with tight corners and stairwells. I was concerned about how the carpet roll would make it to the 3rd floor as the length of the roll wouldn't make it around the corners. The measurer took all of that into consideration. The installers were very professional and courteous. They didn't have one ounce of hesitation on getting the carpet upstairs or laid. No scuffs or nicks. I was 110% impressed with the entire experience. When I need more floor work, I will only call this group.

Heather at Thoroughbred Carpets was great to work with. She helped us choose all the flooring and even went out of her way to track down a carpet sample that we had seen at another store. She was very patient and accommodating as we made our choices and scheduled installation. Any of the staff that we dealt with at the store were friendly and helpful. There was a slight problem with the installer getting there on the day scheduled, but Thoroughbred quickly made it right. Prices were comparable if not better than other places we had looked and they gave us the option of saving some money by tearing out the old carpet and pad ourselves. I will definitely go there again when we have future flooring needs.

THOROUGHBRED CARPET AND THE INSTALLERS DID A GREAT JOB, WE HAD A DELAY BECAUSE I HAD IN FLOOR HEAT INSTALLED AND HAD TO WAIT FOR THE ELECTRICAL INSPECTOR. UNFORTUNATELY IT WAS A FOUR DAY DELAY BECAUSE OF THE HOLIDAY.

START OF WORK WAS DELAYED TWO WEEKS DUE TO CARPET SHIPMENT PROBLEMS. THEIR PRICE WAS ABOUT TWICE THAT OF A PREVIOUS INSTALLATION OF THE SAME CARPET FROM HOME DEPOT (SINCE DISCONTINUED). THEY DID NOT HAVE AN INDUSTRIAL VACUUM TO CLEAN UP THE LOOSE CARPET PILE AFTER INSTALLATION.
