Were able to move the goods, but chipped off a 3 inch chunk off the computer hutch. Also tore the back off of a dresser. Said that they had the bed frame done correctly because that was all the pieces they had for it. Also put the treadmill back wrong, where it had a post that keeps it in the up position when not in use, so couldn't be stored in the up position. I found both the post and the piece to the frame in a bulk box that had a lot of long pieces in it. Also when hauling down the treadmill got some grease from the hydraulics on the carpet. Noticed it but didn't say anything about it or the chip off the computer hutch.

The work crew arrived on-time and got to work immediately. They handled our furniture with care. The job was completed at the lower end of their time estimate. Excellent job. We would definitely use them again.

We contacted as many as 10 companies for estimates. Granite City Moving and Storage was very responsive, visually inspected house, provided an estimate and outlined the moving and quot;rulesand quot;. We decided on Granite City because of their professionalism and staff - we spoke directly with a company owner - not an answering service! We were given several possible dates for the move, advantages and disadvantages of certain dates and an estimate of time. We received accurate information at every step of the process. We packed our own home rather than having the company pack our house... the truck arrived on time, 4 person crew who knew what they were doing and very timely. The crew unassembled furniture, wrapped and packed furniture and our goods were transferred in St. Cloud, MN to North American Van Lines who then moved our belongings to Nevada. Again, no surprises, no disappointments, no hidden charges, no damages or lost boxes. We would recommend following the packing instructions carefully - it makes a difference. Our only observation is that the truck is packed so tightly, that being able to reuse the moving boxes is rather optimistic. The upside is that nothing rattled.

The driver of the moving van contacted us upon arrival in Nevada (ahead of schedule) and arranged for a time to deliver the goods - the crew was courteous, They moved boxes and goods to various rooms and reassembled furniture. It was all very speedy and thorough.
