VISION REMODELING

The work began in October 2008. The beginning to the project went very well. About mid-way through the project some of the subcontractors began to complain about not being paid. Some of them were very reluctant to show up to finish their work. Currently there are still things that need to be completed. The subcontractors are due over $90,000. The money we paid to Todd Polifka and Vision Remodeling did not go to pay the subcontractors. We now have mechanic's liens on our property. We would strongly suggest not to do any business with this company.

Vision Remodeling exceeded our expectations in every way. To begin with, we gave them the challenge of out bidding a well-known twin cities remodeler (the other remodeler, who we liked very much, had done a extensive kitchen remodel a few years earlier). Vision Remodeling beat the other remodeler's price and design! Thus we were impressed from the get-go. Unlike so many remodelers who fail to keep promises or who lack integrity, the guys at Vision Remodeling (Todd and JT) were true to their word. When we had concerns (as every project owner does) our concerns and questions were dealt with immediately. We always felt as if our project was a number 1 priority for both Todd and JT. We would recommend these guys to our Grandmothers! In fact, we have recommended them to friends and family and will continue to do so. We were shocked that another member of Angie's List gave Vision Remodeling an F. Without hesitation these guys are A+ in our book!

I was told I would have an on-site contractor but he was rarely here. They were last here in November, 2006. There are issues with the windows and some other exterior work. They said they would get back to me in early Spring 2007. I have not heard word one from them. The windows are the biggest issue. Every step of the way there were issues that I brought up and they never addressed them fully. They only did "first aid" on them. In Feb or March I had a window representative out and he wrote a ten-point negative on the installation of the windows for issues that he could see. Some of his findings substantiated my complaints. I sent the report certified mail to Vision Remodeling and they have not even responded to that. I mailed that around April 11th, 2007. I saved money for a long time to accomplish my dream with this remodel and it has turned into a nightmare. They have made an attempt to rectify some problems since April 11th but have yet to resolve all issues.
