I requested rush delivery and they were able to deliver well before my deadline. This could have been a huge headache because bad weather was on its way and I needed to get the fill moved before the oncoming storm.
Very pleased.

In the back between our garage and our neighbor s garage there previously was landscape rock, and the landscape rock is still there, they didn t go down to the dirt and take out all of the rocks. They just thought we wouldn t notice maybe, I don t know. I started planting a couple of plants and if you dig it s all rock. They didn t plant two of the flowers that we had chosen for the rain garden. I told them about it and they said, maybe it will come up in the spring. I said, no, they were never planted. I worry a little about the drainage of the rain garden because it is clay. They were going to plant the plants without roto-tilling or adding any other soil. I insisted in putting some peat moss in. We were supposed to get 3 -6 of premium soil on top of the rain garden, and there is not that much at all. They broke my clothes line and I had to ask them to come back like four times.

"HER ACCOUNT OF THE PROJECT IS A BIT SKEWED FROM OUR POINT OF VIEW. WE WERE HIRED TO COMPLETE A COMBINED PROJECT BETWEEN HER HOME AND A NEIGHBOR'S. THERE WERE A NUMBER OF SCHEDULES AND LIMITATIONS PUT ON US BETWEEN THE TWO HOMEOWNERS THAT NEARLY MADE THIS PROJECT IMPOSSIBLE TO SUCCEED AT. I DEVELOPED NO LESS THAN (5) DETAILED QUOTATIONS PRIOR TO COMMENCING WORK AND DEALT WITH AS MANY AS (10) CHANGES SHE WANTED TO MAKE DURING THE COURSE OF OPERATIONS. WE HAD TO COORDINATE WITH THE FENCING AND CONCRETE CONTRACTORS AS WELL WHICH RESULTED IN MUCH OF THE FRICTION SHE OUTLINED IN HER POST. WE TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE COORDINATION OF SAID SUBS, YET SHE IS FORGETTING THE FLEXIBILITY WE HAD IN ACCOMPLISHING HER GOALS BY THE DEADLINE AGREED TO. THE AMOUNT AND SCOPE OF BILLABLE ADDITIONS SHE REQUESTED ADDED TO THE TIME SPENT ON-SITE. WITH REGARDS TO HER ALLEGATIONS OF OUR SUPPOSED INADEQUACIES: BETWEEN THE GARAGES WE REMOVED THREE TIMES THE AMOUNT OF MATERIAL IN THE ORIGINAL SCOPE, INCLUDING (7) TREE STUMPS THAT WERE BURIED AND WAS NOT COMMUNICATED TO US---NO CHARGE. ALL OF THE SPECIFIED PLANTS WERE INSTALLED AS PER THE ORIGINAL LANDSCAPE PLAN. WE EXCAVATED THE RAIN GARDEN AREA TO TWICE THE NOMINAL DEPTH CALLED OUT FOR, INSTALLED A PREMIUM 3-WAY GROWERS MIX IN LIEU OF ADDITIONAL ROTO-TILLING. THE RAIN GARDEN WAS THEN PLANTED AND SHE MENTIONED SHE WOULD LIKE TO SEE ADDITIONAL PEAT ADDED. WE COMPLIED---REMOVED THE PLANTINGS, ADDED THE PEAT, TILLED AND RE-PLANTED---ALL AT NO CHARGE. THE CLOTHES LINE WAS DAMAGED DURING THE COURSE OF OPERATIONS AND WAS REPAIRED TO PRIOR WORKING CONDITION."

It went poorly. When I had questions and problems my emails and calls were not answered by our contact Dustin Halverson. It is hard to know where to start. The space between ours and the neighbors garage still has rock and tree stumps. The rain garden got no new soil mix. I had to ask several times so get some peat moss rototilled in. We have very heavy clay soil. Two of the plants that were supposed to be in the rain garden were not installed. Some of the plants were planted too deep. The roses were planted in heavy clay soil with no new soil. The bid had 14 hours of rototilling and we got maybe one hour after several calls and emails. My close line was tangled by one of the workers and now it is untangled, but the 5 lines are different lengths so it is not as good as it used to be. The grade in back under an overhang was done wrong and I had to spend a day fixing it. I did not know when the subcontracters for sidewalks and fence would be installing until they showed up. It would be nice to get a call of visit to see if everything is done. They think they finished 2 weeks ago. They left a screw driver and glue on the back step, I am missing plants in the rain garden and demo means take out the rock and tree stumps when you make a new garden. They said the project would take 1 1/2 weeks but it took 4 weeks. I did not get the final bill yet.

Pretty good overall. Their representative Rachel depress responded promptly to our initial call and the company kept in touch whenever we had cause to ring subsequently. Rachel produced a plan which stuck pretty well to the brief we gave her and came in at nearly a third of the price of the other 2 bidders, who didn't listen as carefully. We did experience some delays but this was because of the fencing company and Rachel shopping around to get the best price for us. The company turned up when it said it would and worked away, clearing up well, and the only grouse was that they could have prepared the beds better before planting as some areas had been under a parking area previously and needed better preparation, but the garden is now thriving, and is as we had planned it to be.
