"Unfortunately this review is not being made by anyone that was actually involved in this situation. According to the work order everything that was requested by the boat owner was done. Including winterization (except servicing the gear lube - the customer stated this part had already been done). Unfortunately the person that dropped off the boat (the owner) requested certain repairs/diagnostics to be completed. The owner then got his father involved after the work was requested and done. According to the father - who wasn't here at the time of drop off - he didn't want the work done. Unfortunately, if you request work done. You cannot change your mind on what gets completed after it's done - only before it's started. This boat was dropped off with a basic tarp. Not a boat cover that fit. The boat was completed a couple of weeks before the customers picked it up. We do what we can, however I cannot constantly monitor peoples boat covers. Due to a rain storm it had been blown aside and got wet. When sitting outside available to pick up for a number of weeks, there's always a potential of weather. If the proper boat cover isn't used - regardless on a new or used boat - it will not fit as it should and may not keep the boat dry/clean as you'd hope. This is not the responsibility of the repair shop. This is the responsibility of the boat owner. Due to the review it mentions that we were contacted multiple times about these issues. The customer and his father came into the shop one time, July 15, 2014 @ 4:35pm to be exact. The boat owner admitted to the original requests that had been made on the work order that had been filled out and signed by him, but the boat owner's father refused to accept that. Instead of going over things, it was demanded that we issue a refund for the tune-up we completed, the diagnostic we completed and for repairs done at another shop also. This was not an option. They were offered a good-will customer discount for 1/2 the tune-up plus and additional $50 since they claimed there was a communication error. The boat owner/customer didn't say anything, while the father refused the offer we made. They both left and while walking out the father was saying he'd make us pay and would smear our name whenever he could."
"Hello [member name removed], unfortunately I don't have your name on file or record of any repairs being made that you have described above or withing the price you mentioned. I tried last year after this review was made to have the staff at Angie's list reach out to you for more information however I haven't heard anything back. I'm just curious if you could tell us if this was a work order under someone else's name, on someone else's boat or if maybe you've reviewed the wrong location? Thank you, VMS"
