I highly recommend everyone stay away from TCR. TL;DR several roofing installation mistakes made, severe lack of communication from TCR throughout the entire process, and I was asked to write a review before work even began - red flag. After getting roof replacement quotes from 5 different companies, I decided to go with the second to cheapest option - which was Twin City Roofing. And of course, I got what I paid for. The problems began after I signed the quote and handed over the deposit check. I live next to a day care and young children play outside all of the time. Paul, the project manager that was working with me, suggested they perform all of the work on the 4th of July week since kids likely wouldn’t be at the day care then. I arranged with my neighbor to not have kids there that week. A few weeks go by and I didn’t hear from Paul or anyone else at TCR. The Friday before the 4th of July week, I reached out to Paul to find out when they would be coming and he said “Next week I believe”. Then on Monday when no one arrived, I reached out to Paul again. He responded by saying he was on vacation and that Robert P. in the production office could help. I reached out to Robert and he said “I can tell you it won’t be this week.” Obviously I was unhappy that the roof wasn’t going to be replaced that week but I was more upset with the lack of communication throughout the process. It should not be on the client to have to contact the company multiple times to try to get answers. Nonetheless, when the roofers came to replace the roof on my house, garage and shed, they came unannounced. The concerning issues came from work on the roofs. The shingles on the ridge of my shed transitioned from shingles that are meant to be put on ridges to what look like starter shingles. It is very obvious this is not correct. And on my garage, there is a full 15” of a starter shingle that is literally just hanging from the edge of my roof. How did this get missed?? And the biggest issue is with the flat roofs on my house. I asked all of the appropriate questions to Paul from the outset to make sure that there would be grading on the flat roofs such that all of the water would flow to the spout and drain. Alas, a few days after the work was complete, we got our first rain storm and I saw water pooling along the edges of the flat roof and heavy pooling in one corner. I contacted TCR on July 14th and sent pictures of all of these issues. I didn’t get a response so I sent a second email on 7/20. I finally got a response from Tyler and he asked me when would be a good time the following day for him to check out my issues. I responded with a time in the morning. I then didn’t hear back from him and he did not show up the next day. I was later contacted by Robert and he said he was working on a game plan on getting my issues addressed. Five days later (7/26), he sent another email saying he would have a game plan the following day and he would let me know. As you can imagine, I did not hear from him on 7/27. I emailed Robert again on 7/28 with no response. Finally on 8/9, Tyler came out to my house to take pictures of my concerns. He agreed that all of them need to be addressed. He said he would let me know soon what the next steps would be. I have not heard from him since. I emailed Robert on 8/16 telling him Tyler came out to my house and that I was looking for more information when the fixes can occur. I have not heard from TCR since - at all. I should have known from the get go something was off because after I gave Paul the deposit check, he asked me to write a good review of his efforts to boost the company. I was certainly not going to write a review for services that had not yet begun. If you do go with TCR, make sure to pay as little as possible up front so they have to come back and fix issues before they get their full payment.

We needed to fix Our roof and gutters and contacted four companies to give us estimates. Additionally, we had leaky skylights in our three season porch that needed to be addressed. Twin City Roofing set us at ease right away with their professionalism and style of communication. They walked through each part of the job with us and their solutions were better than the other businesses we contacted. They communicated with us throughout the project and were very responsive to questions. Then the work was done exactly like they said it would be and for the first time on a project, the price we were quoted was what we paid! This was a great experience for us and now we can enjoy our three season porch again!

This was one of the only roofing companies we talked to that understood what we wanted to do on our roof right off the bat and was able to quickly get us a cost estimate. Their estimate was the exact price that we were charged even though there was some misunderstanding about the amount of insulation we wanted--they provided the insulation level we wanted at the price they originally quoted. The employees were friendly and professional, often working late to make sure our project got done before real winter came. Overall we are extremely impressed with everyone we've interacted with from this company and extremely happy with the amount of snow our roof is retaining this year--no icicles yet, even when every house around us has them!

covered fresh air intake for water heater with dryer vent cover, ruined new gutter straps and did not fix, replaced a piece of bronze gutter with black off the rack piece, did not attach deck railings to house (they did fix that 9 months later) caulk dripping from windows, and electrical botes just left dangling.

The project is complete at 1878 Sheldon St., Falcon Heights, MN. Twin City Roofing was an excellent service, the job completed on time (prior to end-of-month, June, 2018) and the entire working crew was professional, tidy, and master craftsmen. I was quite impressed! (Jason, in particular, who provided the service for the siding was great!) I was equally impressed with the service that Country Financial (Randy and Bob) provided for this project as I was with Paul Wellnitz (Twin City Roofing). All in all – I am very satisfied . . . . . provided there are no surprises. I would recommend Twin City Roofing to anyone for all of their remodeling specialties!

Got off to a rough start with communication and not hearing back timely. We did get a start date but then no one came the morning they were supposed to start due to weather. We had to call in the afternoon to find out what was going on and the inspector came during the day not knowing the job had been postponed. They rescheduled for the next morning.
Once construction was underway, things went great! The workers were professional and the gentleman in charge did a great job answering questions and giving us status updates that we were looking for. They picked up the yard nicely and even left all of the extra wood for us per our request. The roof was torn down and totally rebuilt in a matter of just a couple of days.
Overall the project looks great and think it will save us lots of money. Was frustrated to begin with, but they really redeemed themselves. Were even quick on the back end to fix changes to the bill that were made during the process. I think all construction jobs have a communication problem to begin with but once we got going, the job flew by.

Happy with end product, but the first time we scheduled an appointment they were a no call and no show. I also picked up a lot of metal after they were gone. I think the communication with the estimator and the the company was off. I was happy with the end product, but the entire process didn't go as smoothly as I would have liked.

The original job, they did a wonderful job. They were quick, efficient and in replacing everything that was discussed in the contract. The crew came when they said would, on time, and I was VERY happy with the job that was done. They even did a great job cleaning up after themselves, making sure that nothing dangerous for my young grandchildren was left behind. The problems began AFTER the initial job was completed.

A couple of years later, I noticed the siding that was guaranteed to remain seamless, but it began to buckle. The siding was supposed to be impact resistant, and it's not. This was why I chose this siding, that the company recommended. This siding doesn't hold up to the Minnesota winters, to the bitter cold. The trim around a door and windows, began to crack. It's been replaced once, but when it happened again a 2nd time, I have had to called them several times, promised that someone would be out to replace it, and no one has been out.. The receptionist, told me that I could go someplace else, but I can't due to the color of the siding, which then she finally transferred me to someone, the guy promised that he would be out before the last holiday of the summer (Labor Day), no one has showed.

So since the spring of 2013, I've been trying to have this corrected by the company, but have been ignored. They were great as an initial company after the storm, to take care of the homeowner, but the follow thru job and customer service has been very poor. I find I can no longer recommend them to others, and will never use them again

initial scheduling was not good, said they would start on a certain day, and they didn't show or call. There also seemed to be a difference from what the estimator told me and what the actual work crew understanding was. That being said, the workers were fast and the end product was good. I did find scraps of aluminum around my house for a week or two after. The price was low compared to others and I was ultimately satisfied. Hence the rating of and quot;Band quot;

They were very professional and nice. They powered thru the project very quickly--took off the old garage roof, replaced rotten wood and put on the new roof. Hard workers. Good clean-up.

Overall, my experience with TC Roofing was decent, and when factoring in cost I would probably use them again. The salesman was punctual, professional and was the first to mention the possibility of patching vs. total replacement, which impressed me. The bid for the project was quite a bit lower than Sela or Garlock French. It took a month to get the project started. There were reasons for that, but they did a lousy job communicating and I always had to call for an update. It also meant I ended up with a dumpster in my front yard for a week, which I wasn't too happy about. The work went quickly once started, and the roofers put in incredibly long days and did a great job cleaning up. The quality of the membrane roof is good. Not so happy about the flashing work, there are several spots that the workmanship is sloppy, and totally slobbered over with caulk.

The insurance company required a new roof on the garage within a certain amount of time, and they were able to handle the job with short turn-around time. Will refer and be using them in the future

Chuck came out and gave us an estimate. He was very helpful and thorough. The price he gave us was competitive and we felt good about using them since one of our neighbors had a good experience with them.

They said that we would have the dumpster delivered on September 8, and it was. They said the process would take 3-days, which it did. They kept the work area clean and they were very receptive to our questions and comments. The result was an excellent job done on time and on budget. We would definitely use Twin City Roofing again!

I was completely happy with them. I didn't have a problem with them. They did a great job. I would go back to them. The guy that does it is very personable. The sale guy and supervisor both wanted to make sure that the job was done right and that was very good. They are very responsive.

Roofing product is normally used in commercial applications and requires specially trained workers. I feel this slowed the work down, but they never asked for interim payments, so I was fine with that. Eave work was also detailed and picky, so it took a long time. Final work was great; I would use them again.

He worked hard, his price was right, and the finished product was great. I have had no problems with that roof what so ever. He did it in a couple of days and was very neat and clean.

Despite assurances that small stucco repair job could be done quickly, it took over two months to complete. Efforts to contact the company were hampered due to wrong phone numbers, a wrong business address, unreturned calls and full voice mail boxes. We complained directly to the president of the company and requested a discount in the price given the delay and amount of hassle we had experienced. After the work was completed (finally), we received no further communication from the company and assumed the remaining balance had been written off in the interest of customer relations. Three months later, the company called demanding payment and filed a lien on our property. Although payment was personally delivered to the company president, we have not yet received a lien waiver nearly two months after the check was cashed. We have filed complaints with the Better Business Bureau and the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry in an effort to have the lien removed.

THE SALESMAN CAME AND HE WAS VERY SLICK, HE SAID THEY WOULD TUCK POINT THE CHIMNEY BUT IN THE CONTRACT HE LEFT THAT OUT. THEY CHARGED ME $40 A BOARD, AT HOME DEPOT IT IS ONLY $14 A BOARD. THERE ARE WARPED AREAS ON THE ROOF THAT THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO REPAIR, BUT THEY JUST DECKED OVER IT AND DID NOT DO A TEAR OFF OF OLD MATERIALS. THE SALESMAN MISREPRESENTED IN SO MANY WAYS, IT WAS NOT A GOOD EXPERIENCE. THEY CALLED THE BUILDING INSPECTOR AFTER THE ROOF WAS ON BECAUSE THEY USED ALL UN-DOCUMENTED WORKERS. I'VE CALLED ABOUT PROBLEMS AND THEY HAVE NOT RESPONDED.
Response from Twin City Roofing Construction Specialists Inc
"TWIN CITY ROOFING WAS CONTRACTED TO TEAR-OFF AND REPLACE ROOFING BOARDS AT A RATE OF $45.00/SHT (MATERIAL/LABOR). NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR STRUCTURE OF THE HOME, WE ARE REQUIRED TO SHEET OVER THE OLD SUBSTRATE TO PROVIDE A SOLID BASE FOR THE NEW ROOF. THE BUILDING INSPECTOR IS CALLED AT THE END OF THE JOB FOR FINAL INSPECTION OF THE JOB. WE DO NOT CONTRACT WITH UNDOCUMENTED LABORERS. THIS MEMBER NEVER CONTACTED US WITH ANY OBJECTIONS REGARDING HIS JOB. TWIN CITY ROOFING IS A PROFESSIONAL COMPANY, AND IS A LONG-STANDING MEMBER OF GOOD RECORD WITH THE BBB OF MINNESOTA."
