Travis and his team were wonderful to work with - they are all kind, honest and very responsive. We worked with a contractor who was beyond difficult to work with and Travis kept checking up on us to make sure the plumbing job was done in a timely fashion and done correctly. We refer everyone to Tschida and just love them! Thanks for the great work!

They did great work, left the area neat with nice details like securing my ac hose and running it out of site and cleaning up a really grody floor drain cover. And all this for a great price and frankly it was DONE before the other companies that were called at the same time even submitted their bids. Will call first next time

That ruined my water pressure and they did not install a close valve and I could not turn it off. The one valve they did install leaks and I can’t use my dishwasher.  They effectively destroyed my ability to use the dishwasher.  They also did work on my sink and shower. The shower has no water pressure like it had before. They sink is the only thing working.  It was the worst plumbing experience was the worst of my life.

The drain pipe that ran out of the house into the yard was not secured to the building and was very lose. The hole was filled with silicone caulk, so when the pipe moves it breaks the seal.  We are going to have to install brackets holding it fast so that it doesn't create an entry point for pests. Also, when asked for a receipt, the receipt listed only one line--parts and labor.

The person determined that there also was no cold water in my kitchen. Turns out I had frozen pipes. He did not have something needed & was going to come back the next day at 8:00am, meanwhile I opened up heating vent in basement and put a little portable heater down there. Within 2 hours pipes were opened up. When he called the next day I told him everything was working, he said he would have to send me a small bill for the day before. It was $120.00

They are the plumber that I go to.  They are fantastic and I have always gotten immediate response from them which is why I use them all the time.  They are really great about asking questions so that they know what to bring, and they are extremely friendly.  I recommend them to all my friends because I’ve had good experiences with them.

The guy who came in for the job was a large man. He was very professional and efficient. There were no problems installing the water heater. I was amazed that one person could do it. The quality of his work was good. The water heater doesn't leak anymore. I would use their service in the future.

O.K. It was sometimes difficult talking to Leroy (the owner of the company). Several times he practically said that this was a small job for them and once I asked if this was too small a job for their interest. Leroy acknowledged that it wasn’t but they do work on bigger projects than ours. Travis was the plumber we dealt with and he was fast and efficient. He was a little sloppy but cleaned up when I would point out messes. Originally we said we would take the old faucets off the two vanities but my husband decided not too and there was an added cost for Travis to remove them. We were OK with that. On Travis’s first trip to our house he put in the first new faucet. I decided it was poorly made and bought two new faucets. Travis removed the first new faucet and installed the second new faucet. There was an added charge for that which we accepted. The old toilet was removed and Travis took care of the disposal. The new toilet was installed after the new floor was put in - no problem there! On Travis’s second visit he was going to reinstall the second vanity that had been removed for the new floor. Travis pointed out how rotty the wood on the old vanity was and said it was falling apart to the extent that he didn't think he could reinstall it. The vanity was wobbly and I asked Travis to remove the sink (which now had the new faucet on it) so that the sink wouldn't fall and break. Travis informed me that in order to remove the sink he would have to dismantle the vanity. I gave him the go ahead. Travis was unable to complete installing the vanity. Travis said that my husband could easily finish the plumbing under the sink when we got a new vanity. No supplies were left for us to complete the job. I had been looking for new vanities for both the bathrooms for months. They were both odd sizes and it became impossible to find anything to fit. At that point I decided to keep the old vanities and have them resurfaced. Now that one of the old vanities was dismantled I was back to square one trying to find a new one to fit the second bathroom. On Travis’s second visit we paid the full total of the bill which had gone up $210 more than the original estimate. Several days later I was able to find an even smaller vanity. I wanted to keep the original china sink and I didn’t want to use the cheap sink that came with the vanity. After the vanity was resurfaced and installed we discovered a new problem that I’ll mention later on. I called Leroy and asked that he send Travis back to finally install the sink on the new resurfaced vanity. I also asked Leroy to itemize the bill for me so I knew what we paid for the second vanity that was not completed. I felt that we were charged too much for installing only the faucet and not reinstalling the entire vanity and hooking up the pipes. Since Travis did not leave any of the supplies we would need to install the pipes we would need to finish the plumbing ourselves we asked that Travis return and finish the job and we did not want to be charged again for him to come out. Leroy agreed to send a plumber out that day but said he would charge us another $60. My husband got very angry and told Leroy that he was charging too much and he was not happy with the lack of completion, the fact that we were not given the supplies to finish the job ourselves and yet we felt that we were charged for a total installation which was not completed. Leroy said he would send out another plumber the same day we talked to him and have the sink installed on the new vanity with the charge of $60 or my husband could pick up the couple of items it would take to install the pipes below the sink and there would be no charge. My husband refused to do that so I agreed to have a plumber come out for the $60. Travis was back for a third trip to finally install the sink on the second vanity. This was when Travis discovered that the old sink was a hair too small for the new vanity. Again he was unable to finish the installation. Lot’s of problems here and the issue was with the second vanity and the total price of the work that was completed and that which was not completed. I think if Leroy hadn’t made us feel like he was doing us a favor and if he hadn’t charged us for the last visit he would have cooled our tempers a bit. Telling me that they’re use to working on bigger jobs made me feel like this was an insignificant project for them. With the economy the way it is right now you would think plumbers would welcome even the small jobs. We will find another plumber in the future!

Being a new homeowner, I had water damage on the main floor ceiling that appeared to be from the upstairs bathroom. Although a different plumber had supposedly done the job, this would leak profusely whenever and only when we used the shower. Because I was in repair/remodel mode, I was not showering there regularly. Tschida was recommended by a friend who is a General Contractor. I called and talked to Leroy on the phone. I told him about the leak and informed him another plumber had replaced the "T/S Valve" and he assumed that it was done incorrectly and gave me an estimate for that job. That's fine, but I thought I made it clear that I wanted a plumber to come out and look at it and only do the appropriate work. I was somewhat amazed at his seasoned knowledge but later realized it was a pompous and crass nature. The other plumbers I talked to before at least came out and gave an estimate after looking at the problem itself, even if there was a one time service call that could be subtracted from the price of the job. Because I had roommates moving in shortly and was desperate at this time, I decided to let Tschida come over under the assumption that they would decipher what the problem was and do the appropriate work from there. They came and replaced the T/S valve again, so I assumed they did what was needed to be done, right? They did not clean up very well. They took the brand new valve replaced by the original plumber less than a week before which could have been returned for a refund and SURPRISE...the next morning, my shower STILL LEAKED! Leroy had already called and left a message requesting the money that morning. I then called and left a message that the problem was not resolved. When we finally connected, I expressed my frustration and he let me know that "of course it leaked, there's a hole by the tub!" and that his plumber had done the job I had requested. I argued that there was not a visible hole, just some caulking coming loose and that I would not have hired him to do a job I thought was already done correctly (for $200 less, I might add) if I would have known that this supposed gaping hole was the culprit. I guess the honest plumber I was hoping for was not Tschida Bros. Plumbing. Of course I would pay for a plumber for their time to be fair and give an ignorant homeowner a break by letting them know the water was caused by a plastic sealing strip channeling water to and over the edge, thus only happening when showering. But instead, they not only took me for a whole lot of money, they demeaned me by telling me that I was missing the obvious. Because I'm honest and not that good at confrontation, I just asked for my original spigot back and held payment until Leroy brought to my home. And then, guess what, it couldn't be returned, it was not the correct one. They even screwed that up! I'm writing this as a sort of Caveat emptor...Buyer Beware! My recommendation is to FIND ANOTHER PLUMBER!

Very responsive (faster than I expected) and quick at what they do. We used them first when we had the water lines replaced in our first house. On that project they were very quick too.

LeRoy spent a great deal of time talking with me about how the plumbing would be done, in light of the fact that I would be preparing my pantry for the washer and dryer (removing shelves, plaster, lathe, etc). The plumber who came was a bit behind time. He did the work in two hors less than LeRoy estimated, but he left debris upstairs to throw away (swept into my dustpan), a large pipe downstairs (not discovered for several days). There was also plaster left. I offered a jigsaw to cut the holes into the back wall pantry to basement. He told me he had all that he needed. For the drain pipe, he made a clean cut, but for the dryer vent, he snapped out the lathe. I really appreciated LeRoy's willingness to talk about the project, but I think when one is being paid $1200 for 4 hours work, one cleans up. At the very least, one asks how I want things disposed. I do also wonder if I had hired a company that worked by the hour if I might have saved money.

LEROY BACKED THE TRUCK INTO OUR DRIVEWAY AND DROVE INTO THE OVERHANG BY THE BACKDOOR, CAUSING SEVERAL THOUSAND DOLLARS OF DAMAGE TO A HISTORIC STRUCTURE. WE CHOSE TSCHIDA BECAUSE THEY RESPONDED PROMPTLY WITH AN ORAL BID, BUT THERE WAS THEN SOME CONFUSION ABOUT WHAT THEY WERE GOING TO DO ONCE THEY GOT ON THE SITE. OVERALL QUALITY OF THEIR WORK OKAY. HOWEVER, WE RECEIVED LOWER BIDS FROM OTHER COMPANIES AFTER THEIR WORK WAS COMPLETED. WE WOULD HAVE GONE WITH ONE OF THE OTHER COMPANIES, BUT WE WERE EAGER TO GET THE WORK DONE. I'M SORRY NOW THAT WE DIDN'T WAIT.

DAVE WAS GREAT ABOUT WORKING WITH ME ON EXACTLY WHAT I WANTED DONE AND NOT ADDING IN EXTRAS LIKE THE OTHER PLUMBING COMPANIES I WORKED WITH. HE WAS ALWAYS PLEASANT AND ALWAYS CAME OUT WITHIN A FEW DAYS OF CALLING HIM.
