TIMBERLAND HARDWOOD FLOORING

The thresholds were big humps cut wrong and the glue was squishing out. I immediately called him and he finally came over to look at the thresholds, which was the first time he had been there to look at the job since he had taken the order. He was obviously not overseeing the job. He made comments to suggest he knew they looked terrible. In the meantime I discovered that Dave had charged my credit card the balance due on 07/26/05 without my knowledge. I immediately called him and he did give me a cashier check a few days later. Then he sent over an outside contractor to deal with the messed-up thresholds. Within a few months the floor has started to lift and cup and is very squishy underfoot. I had a meeting with Dave, Paul the outside contractor, and Steve the supplier on 02/09/06. Now Dave is telling Paul and Steve that I requested that the floors be installed too tight. This is, of course, a total lie. At this time I am contemplating my options for a resolution.

WHEN THEY FIRST SHOWED UP, THEY ACTED SURPRISED THAT I WAS NOT GOING TO MOVE MY PIANO OUT OF THE HOUSE AND THE JOB WOULD TAKE 2 STEPS. I HAD DISCUSSED THIS WITH THE OTHER PARTNER WHEN I GOT THE QUOTE. THE INITIAL JOB DID NOT REMOVE DARK STAINS ON FLOOR. IF I HAD BEEN TOLD THAT THIS WOULD HAPPEN I WOULD HAVE HAD THEM REPLACE THE BOARDS AT THE BEGINNING. THEY HAD TO COME BACK IN TO REPLACE THEM AND RESAND TWO BEDROOMS, WHICH TOOK 2 MORE DAYS. I TOLD THEM 3 TIMES TO FIX THE HOLE IN MY BEDROOM FLOOR, AND THEY DIDN'T DO IT. THEY PUT A PATCH OVER IT ON THE LAST DAY. THEY OFTEN SHOWED UP SEVERAL HOURS LATER THAN THEY SAID THEY WOULD.
