Good at first, but it quickly deteriorated after signing the contract. We could could not get ahold of Bob (General Manager) as he rarely answers his phone or return texts. He is almost completely unavailable. We tried to contact him for three weeks, left many messages, and he finally returned a call when we threatened legal action. This call was for not pulling a building permit, even though the job had been completed. We were forced to check the permit and work on getting the finished roof inspected by the city because Bob was too busy. He had weeks - weeks to do the bare minimum and just let us know what’s going on. Even a text would have sufficed. It’s been almost a month since the roof was was done and Temo/Bob is back to ignoring us. We close on our house in 1 week and will have problems because Bob wont return calls and follow through with promises to provide information to finish the project. He won’t even follow through if it means getting paid. I have a check in my hand to pay him, and he knows this. He’s basically holding us hostage because we can’t get a lien waiver until he gets paid and wraps this up. He made this project a nightmare and now we have to spend money on legal help because Temo is so irresponsible.

I will never use Temo Roofing and Siding for any needs in the future. I would not recommend them to
anyone needing services they offer.
I was uneasy with the integrity of the contractor / manager Bob Maietta after I signed the contract to have him replace
siding roofing and windows due to storm damage. I had previously had aluminum
siding and wanted the new siding to be the same material. He tried adamantly to
talk me out of going with aluminum alleging that it was not easy to obtain
anymore because everyone was going with vinyl. He claimed companies were no
longer going to be producing aluminum because nobody was purchasing it anymore.
He additionally said insurance companies were going to charge higher premiums
if homeowners chose aluminum. I knew none of this to be true and further
verified the insurance allegation with my agent who told me to put whatever I
wanted on the house and it would be covered without a higher premium.
Additionally Mr. Maietta was not forth-right to me about an electrical fixture mounted on my siding because he
didn't order the proper housing for it to be installed. He tried telling me I
was better off leaving the junction box mounted to the outside surface of the
siding instead of flush mounting it with a housing like all the other fixtures
would be done. He contended it would be easier to replace if something went
wrong with it. Having knowledge about electrical fixtures I knew this made no
sense and when I further inquired about it he became frustrated with me. He
never did arrange for the fixture to be flush mounted, rather the
sub-contractors fastened it right on top of the new siding.
There were so many delays in starting this project. Mr Maietta admitted initially
he didn't have any sub-contractors to do the work.  I signed a contract for this work to be done
in Mid-May 2013 and the siding job wasn't even started until Mid-October 2013.
Overall the siding job once started, took an unacceptable amount of time. The
two sub-contractors Mr. Maietta eventually hired for the siding worked on the
project part-time at best. The days they were suppose to show up for work I
would regularly get contacted by them with excuses why they weren't coming that
day. From start to finish the siding took well over a month and a half to
complete. When I complained to Mr. Maietta that I was becoming impatient with
this progress he left me a hostile message yelling at me to calm down and
relax; that it didn't matter that it was taking this long. I was appalled that
a contractor would do such a thing. Every delay which was encountered Mr.
Maietta blamed on the insurance company. He alleged they were not paying him
the amount of money the jobs required. I had signed a contract for Temo to
negotiate pricing with the insurance company and pricing was not my affair it
was absurd how he kept trying to justify progress in regards to this. Equally
frustrating was the siding sub-contractors damaged a sensor for my furnace humidity
system and Mr. Maietta would only agree to pay for half of the repair because the
sub contractors lied and said they didn't damage it.
The roofing job (replacement of valley metal, roof vents, and surrounding shingles) was the same situation
as the siding job. It took over a year for that work to be completed. The
roofers were called back out at my request as they left nails sticking through the
outside surface of shingles without sealing them. Mr. Maietta claimed this was
not a problem, I knew better.
The only part of this process I was satisfied with was the work of the two window sub-contractors.
These two were very efficient and professional. There was a very long delay in
receiving the window from the factory and I still am not sure why it took so
long but all things considered with Temo, it was ?par for the course?.
Throughout the process, Mr. Maietta was very difficult to get a hold of. He was poor at answering or
returning phone calls and email messages. The only times he was readily
available was when I had checks for him from the insurance companies for
payment. The entire project was negotiated and a contract for work was signed
in early spring 2013. The work was finally completed in September 2014. I have recently
been in contact with Mr. Maietta for a final invoice and warranty information
and I still have not received it. He was readily available when it was time for
me to provide my share of the insurance deductible but has disappeared from
contact ever since. Three weeks had passed since he replied to an email saying
their secretary who only works on Fridays would send something out. I have not
received anything yet.
Despite this frustrating process I have learned a few things for future reference and would advise
readers to keep these things in mind. After everything was said and done (which
as I write this article; is not!) It was made clear to me that Temo is a very
small company who profits off of insurance claims chasing storm damage. All of
the work is subcontracted out by Mr. Maietta and in my opinion; he doesn?t do a
very good job of customer service and has a lack of integrity. I had no
knowledge of this company and tried to do some research on line. At the time, I
could only find one outstanding pending complaint filed with the Better
Business Bureau with no details available.
For any future construction needs, I will be signing on with a reputable experienced company and completely
avoid small operations who sub contract work, who?s office is a P.O. Box and
seeks profit from ignorance of homeowners. This entire experience has prompted
me to join Angie?s List for future referrals and has certainly motivated me to
share my frustrating experience. I recommend avoiding Temo Roofing and Siding.
