Stump-B-Gone

I called Jim Jensen and got same day service.  He did an excellent job and was very competitive on cost.  Veru nice man and very pleased overall with the service provided.  Would recommend this service to anyone.

They were here within a couple of days of contacting them. We are quite satisfied. We were happy with the price.

I called Jim on Saturday and expected to get voicemail.  Jim answered!  We talked through the situation and he said he could do it that day.  We set a time and he arrived right on time.   It was a big job and we talked through the details -- sprinkler system, underground lines and the other details.   We agreed on price and he got right to work.   He has a machine that could get into our tight back yard without hurting the lawn.  Jim did a fantastic job and completed the job exactly as he said he would.  I am very pleased with his work and how well Angie's list worked on my first use.   In addition to Jim's great work, he is willing to back it up.   He told me that if after we moved the dirt and chips, if he missed anything he would come back and take care of it.   I found it refreshing to work with someone professional, knowledgeable, takes pride in his work and backs it up.  I would definitely use him again and would recommend him to others.

I called Jim from this company after reviewing other companies on Angies List doing the same work.  Quotes for the stumping included removal of the tree remains and without their removal.  I decided to do the removal myself to save money and had 14 bags of tree shred to bag and remove (next time I will pay to have that done!). His quote was right in the ballpark with the stumping and said he could come out the same day of my call which worked out great, better than the other quotes. 

He arrived right on time same day and said he would honor the quote even though we found that the stump and roots would be extending way further than I thought they went.  He has a stumper that is worth watching work (from a distance!).  He was able to contain the remains from flying all over the yard and he took a reasonable amount of time to complete the work.  I was surprised how much there was to a tree and he stumped it down enough so now I can plant grass with no problem.  

We spoke after about the job and he insisted on honoring his original quote even though there was more work to do than I thought.  I told Jim I was an Angies List member and he said he would appreciate a review which I am quite happy to do.   

Everything went very well.  Jim arrived on time and went right to work, agreeing on a price before he started.  He removed one small stump, 2 medium stumps, and 1 large stump.  It was easy to determine that Jim took pride in his work and only does quality work.

Jim was busy, but came to our home on that Sunday so that we could get the work completed quickly. He was great to work with. He did a great job, his price was much lower than another phone estimate that I received. I would highly recommend Jim.

Jim was very responsive. I received a callback very quickly and given a quick quote. He showed up early and was able to make quick work of the stump . He does not remove the grinds, but stump was ground up well enough for me to use it elsewhere in the yard. Overall, very happy.

Called to schedule time and Jim was able to come out the next day. He arrived on time. Jim used a walk-behind stump remover which did not damage the lawn. The stump was ground to 6 inches below ground level. Jim provides excellent service and a great value for the money.

From my initial call to the end of the job everything went as smooth as I could have hoped for. Since I was the first job of the season I think I benefited in terms of price since there were no other jobs lined up yet. It took about an hour to complete each stump and there were no hitches or problems whatsoever. When I get a couple more trees removed in future years I will definitely use this firm again!

The process went very well. The estimate over the phone, based on size of the stump, was clear and accurate. Scheduling went well. He will call before coming out to make sure that someone will be there. The stump was ground down to a depth I had needed so that I could plant another tree very close to where the hole ended up. As others have noted, he did leave the tree shavings, etc. but that was known up front and acceptable. Overall, a very good experience.

Jim responded to my morning call by day's end; in fact, he actually called me after business hours. I appreciate that kind of response from a vendor. Consulting his calendar, he said he could come out...on Sunday! This was not a rush job for me, but I appreciated the fact that he was willing to do that. We arranged a time and I asked him to give me a call when he was on the way. He gave me a call as planned and arrived on the dot...in cold, blustery sleety weather! He measured the stump and gave me a bid, which I accepted. He then wheeled his stump grinder over to the spot and did the job in about 10 minutes. I gave him a B in quality only because he doesn't deal with after-mess, which amounted to a lot of dirt and mulch sprayed around a patch of lawn, and a crater where the stump used to be. To be fair, he told me up front (and it's in his company profile) that he does not dispose of or deal with the mulch, so this did not come as a surprise, and was not a big problem. I just think his service would be even better if he handled that part as well. Overall, the experience with Stump-B-Gone was very good and I would use him again.

Jim did a good, efficient job removing the stumps. We walked around to each stump, he measured them, and then gave me the cost before beginning the grinding. He even was able to remove a stump close to some boulders without any problems. He also removed 2 other stumps that we had not spoken about prior to him coming on site. He does not remove the chips left over from the grinding and explains that before he begins. That was no problem as it usually meant just back filling the stump hole with the chips created by the grinding. I would definitely us "Stump-Be-Gone" again.

It went excellent. He returned my phone call very quickly. He was prompt when doing the work. He even called and made sure we were still doing the work before he came over.

Jim did a great job. He was able to schedule the work for the next day, offered a fair price, did an excellent job, and was very considerate and professional throughout the process.

Great. He works weekends and was very professional. He arrived on time and did a nice job. He doesn't clean up the debris but he tells you this before he starts. I would call him back the next time I need a stump out.

We called Jim on Friday about 5:30pm, talk with him on the phone about the size of tree, he gave us a quote over the phone and set up a time to do the work the next day; between 10 and 12. Jim arrived about 12:30; he got caught up at his last job, which could be expected (never know how stubborn these stump can be). Jim's quote was off a little because we gave him the wrong size of the stump (need to measure the longest part of the stump; diagonal). Jim did a fantastic job, and he is very friendly. I made a comment to my husband that he really seemed like a close friend the way we were talking. After a few minutes talking with him we realized he also rode a HARLEY. That explains it all right there. He was very nice and professional. We will recommend him to all of our friends and family!

Jim was quick to respond and finished the job on the same day I called. I'm not sure the stump was a true 26" (I thought it was smaller, but I didn't measure it), but frankly the stump is gone and it cost me less than $90. I am quite pleased with Jim's performance and I would hire him and/or recommend him to anybody.

Jim answered our phone call immediately, arrived exactly when he said he would, was finished with the work in minutes. He was careful to protect the exit pipe of our new drain tile system, saying "The machine can't hurt what it doesn't touch!" He was cheerful, helpful, and left no damage using a machine the size of a large ride-on lawn mower. I would definitely call Jim for another job. This was all in the context of just having had his truck stolen. He borrowed a friend's old tow truck to get our work done while he finds another vehicle.

WOW! I found Jim through Angie's List and contacted him at 10am Monday morning. He arrived by 11am and was finished by 11:45am. He works for himself, so you only deal with him. He was friendly and explained what he could do. He charged by the inch for the stump and added $30 for the roots, which were substantial. The machine he used grinded up the stump and roots until there was nothing left except a few wood chips. If you have a stump that needs to be removed, I don't know why you would call anyone else. Jim's your guy!

Excellent service, scheduled with out issue, came the next day, swept everything up (no mess). Jim is a nice guy. I will definitely have them back for future work.
