A great help in finding nice antique jewelry. Patient and friendly. Little chaotic, but not bad.

Update: got the others back and they're adorable! It took a little longer than I thought (2 weeks), but it was worth the wait.

An elderly friend asked me to find someone who could fix her 14k gold bracelet. It has her medical emergency information on a curved oval disk that fits on her wrist. Both prongs that had held the disk to the checkerboard waffle style band had broken. I went to Angie's list and found a couple of places. I chose St. Clair and Snelling Jewelers because the information on Angie's list and Ron's own website indicated not only what I was looking for in price, quality, and professionalism, but also in a feeling that this jeweler would give me personal attention and be a creative problem solver. All this proved to be true. Ron's shop is small and comfortable. Ron, the jeweler, is very personable and willing to answer any questions with obvious expertise. The price for the fix was very reasonable. He was able to finish it in a week and made the link much stronger than it had been before. My elderly friend is very pleased with the finished work, the price and the turn-around time. She intends to send me to him again soon.

A prong on my wedding ring was loose and the stone was moving. The last time this happened, I took the ring to the store where we purchased it. They did the repair but I thought it looked a little amateurish. So, this time I decided to take my ring direct to a goldsmith. I initially contact Ron via email, which he answered promptly and with enough detail to convince me that he was a professional. When I took my ring to him, he explained how the ring was constructed, that this happens with normal wear, and what he was going to do to fix it. It's obvious that he has a great deal of experience in designing and building jewelry pieces and that he truly enjoys his work. Ron quoted a price and we agreed on a date for pick up. On that day, he called to say my ring was ready. My ring looks like new. The repair is so flawless that even through I know where where it is, I can't see it. The price he quoted is the price I paid. Ron also explained to me that what I thought was a chip in one of the stones (the original store had told me that sometimes diamonds chip) was actually just a bigger "shoulder" on the diamond. How nice to hear that! From start to finish, this was a great experience.

Pleasure to work with. Multiple small silver charms and pieces that are affordable but personal. Trusty transactions via Paypal. Thoughtful consideration of value vs worth vs work. I will be using Mr Kolb quite a bit.
