Schneider Carpet One

Pat T. at Schneider was able to identify for us right away a carpeting that would be good to add over existing hardwood floors in three rooms of our 100+ year old house. We wanted to make sure we would do minimal damage to the floors. The carpet he identified has the pad built in to the carpeting, so it lays heavy and therefore doesn't need as much to keep it in place - meaning, it is held in place with special double-sided, not nails or glue. Only the transition pieces are held down with glue. As a bonus, the carpet they identified is relatively "breathable" for the wood and considered to be "low VOC". The installation crew did a great job. It seemed tricky to us because we had a lot of furniture and not a lot of space to move it to for installation. Pat assured us they were used to dealing with this situation. We also have a relatively tight corner on the stairs going to the second floor and they were able to get two rolls of carpet upstairs! They helped us problem-solve a last-minute issue we discovered having to do with carpet placement relative to our back door.

Beginning in the summer of 2016 I worked with Pat Tierney of Schneider Carpet One to select flooring for my new condo unit. He was extremely helpful in advising on pros and cons of various products. The project was to begin late September, 2017. When the existing carpeting [recently installed by the previous owner] was ripped up, water damage to the subfloor was evident and extensive mold was discovered beneath the subfloor. Pat helped Me locate the professionals I needed to address the severity, and fix it. The floor installation was delayed for several months of mold remediation. During that time, Carpet One stored the floor product at no cost to Me. Pat was extremely patient. He juggled schedules with mold remediation work to replace subfloor and base boards in affected areas and the flooring in 2 bathrooms that needed to be removed. Throughout this process, he went above and beyond to make the best of a bad situation and to finally ensure the original flooring project was completed as quickly and professionally as possible. The installer was easy to work with and did a flawless job. A one week floor installation project turned into a seven month nightmare, but Pat Tierney and everyone at Schneider Carpet One helped at every step of the way.

We had flooded basement & had to tear out part of the carpet padding. The work that was completed went very well. Curt Rens returned our call & e-mailed us with an estimate right away. The work was completed by a very nice gentleman on the date we agreed upon. He came on time & completed the work as promised. He asked us to see the work he did & if we were pleased with it. It was done nicely. Very professional.

They were able to get the carpet we wanted and have it installed quickly which was important to us. They were helpful when we called with questions but we did need to reach out to them to verify start times and when we would let them in the house. Would have preferred a clearer line of communication on those details.

I worked with Curt Rens; who quickly made time to meet, discuss me specific needs, and accommodate a tight schedule to get the work done. They did a perfect job. The seam in the middle is practically invisible, and they fit the linoleum perfectly right up to the edge everywhere.

They showed up when they were scheduled and finished pan time, cleaned up any mess. Received follow up call in a couple of days to see if I was happy with the product and the install.

The new carpet looks great. Their price was similar to two other bids, but I selected them in part because they said they'd move our furniture around. My wife and I have bad backs, and couldn't have done it ourselves. But paint was chipped on doorways when they did move the furniture. Of course if my wife and I had tried to move things ourselves, we might have chipped some paint in doorways as well.
And when removing carpet in one room, paint pulled away from the recently repainted baseboard. I don't know if that could have been prevented by running a box cutter blade along the edge between the baseboard and the carpet before the carpet was removed, or if it was inevitable.
In any event, the carpet looks great, and feels great when we walk on it. And we plan to hire them next year to pull out the carpet in one the rooms on our first floor, and sand and refinish the floor in that room and our kitchen. Their salesman didn't oversell, and their staff was prompt, and except for the chipped paint, they did a great job. Overall, we're very satisfied.

About two years ago we contemplated this project and had Don from Schneider Carpet One come and provide us an estimate.  At that time made the decision to hold-off on the new carpeting for a variety of reasons.  Fast forward to 2013 and the need for new carpet was unavoidable.  We called Don and he came back out and re-measured and quoted the project.  In the interim we changed carpet selections to a non-Carpet One brand.  Don successfully negotiated the pricing with the new supplier and we had a deal.
The installation team was extremely professional and careful with all of our belongings that had to be moved in and out of each room.  The seams in the carpet are impossible to see -- and I know where they are.  There was a small issue with the clean-up on the final day, and the issue was immediately handled to our satisfaction.
Our home is beautiful.  We have already received compliments on the new carpet.  We also have already recommended Don and the Schneider Carpet One team to several friends.

We had a fire in our house and I saw online that they handle insurance restoration services.  I called for more information and the person I spoke with was extremely helpful.  I stopped in the following day and met with Don. I showed him the report we got from the insurance company with the specs of the old carpet and he knew immediately what it meant and showed me comparable carpets. He was extremely knowledgeable and explained the difference between the various styles of carpet and construction.
My husband wasn't there so Don sent me home with two of the carpet samples so we could decide if we liked either style and color in our home. We called the following day with questions and I told him we choose a style but could not decide on a color. He generously suggested we keep the samples over the weekend. 
Don came the following Monday to measure and give us an estimate, which fell right in line with the report from the insurance company. We submitted the estimate for approval and placed the order the following day. He also scheduled the installation. He followed up on the order with the carpet mill and the shipping company and discovered it was due to arrive earlier than expected. He called to offer an earlier installation date because he knew we were anxious to have our house put back together.
On installation day, the employee arrived on time (actually 2 minutes early) and did a fantastic job installing the carpet. Don told him that another company gave us the wrong carpet the first time around so he asked if we would like to see it before he installed it. We did and it was exactly what we had ordered. He installed it in a few hours, vacuumed and had me take a look before he left. His workmanship was perfect and the carpet looks great. There are no scratches or scuffs on the wall. 
I would absolutely use Schneider Carpet One and Don again. I highly recommend them, especially for insurance work (fire damage, water damage, etc.). The entire process was perfect from start to finish and we could not be happier.

This was an excellent experience.  We were helped immediately by Trinette Nelson, project manger and interior designer, when we visited the showroom.  She carefully asked about our project, came to our home, made excellent design and product suggestions, and provided a clear cost estimate.  The Schneider employees and their sub-contractors were uniformly professional and pleasant.  The work was done quickly but not rushed so that the quality of the finished work was not compromised. Several months after the work was completed we needed to have repair work done for a carpet burn from a fireplace.  Ms. Nelson arranged for an excellent carpet repair specialist to contact us and the repair was completed within 48 hours.

On very short notice came out and cleaned the carpet.  Did a good job and were very pleasant to work with.  Definitiely worth calling. Iain

Everything went fantastic. They arrived when they said they would and were very helpful in answering any questions I had. Everyone I interacted with was professional and knowledgeable. The work turned out great and I will definitely use them when it comes time to replace the carpet in my upstairs rooms. I am totally satisfied with Schnieder Carpet One.

They came in with a great price, plus even though they were a couple hundred dollars more than a competitor, they were able to offer warrenty and quality of service we couldn't get with anyone else. They came in on time and performed the job within the day, as promised. The sales member coordinated well with the installation team, so even when a worker had to leave, they made sure other staff was available at no extra cost to me. Great sales, great service, and really appreciated their up-front information about the process, as my wife was concerned about the chemicals/process involved in carpets.
