Reeds Sales has been around a long time and earned an enviable reputation for repairing and parts sales.  I've used them for years and highly recommend them to acquire quality parts and professional repairs.  I cannot personally comment on their quality of repairs as I do all that myself and only go there for parts.  That's where my only complaint comes in.  They close at noon on Saturday. Just like everyone else did . .  in 1959.  Need a surprise part to finish a project and it's only 11:30 AM Saturday? Good luck.

I took my lawnmower to Reed's and gave them the initial 20$ for review. They said they would call within a couple days to tell me the diagnosis & quote and, if I decided that they fix it, the 20$ would go toward the final bill. If not, 20$ would be the diagnosis fee. I called them about 3 weeks later to find out if they'd looked at the mower and they said they hadn't, but were hoping to look at it within the next week. About a week after that they called and told me they fixed the mower, and the total was approx 78. I paid them, took the mower home. When I pulled it out to use it, I noticed they removed the spark plug, and didn't put one back. (It was a Sunday, and they were closed, so I couldn't go back) After I bought a spark plug, and started it up, the mower blade was kept running into the piece/bar/brace they replaced. I had to hammer at the bar until the blade stopped grazing it.

"Member, I appologize for your unsatisfactory experience. If you are ever unhappy with a repair, please call us or stop by and let us know. (I realize we were closed when you first started using your mower.) I would like to clarify your dates though. My records show that you dropped off the mower on 8-21-2010, we ordered the part on 8-30-2010, recieved the part 8-31-2010, and your mower was repaired on 9-1-2010. You didn't pick up your mower untill 9-11-2010. (that is far less than the 4 weeks you stated in your complaint) It is possible that you were not called right away and told that your mower was done. We have a spot to mark down the date that the customer was called and told that their repair has been finished, and that spot is left blank on your repair sheet. Estimate issue: I appologize if you were not called before the repair and given an estimate. If you had requested an estimate when you dropped it off, it did not get written up that way, so our techs would not call with an estimate unless the repair cost exceeds 1/2 the cost of a new mower. Spark plug issue: I am not sure why your mower had no spark plug. Removing the plug would not be needed to do your repair? I do take if very seriously if a customer is not happy with a repair. We always stand behind our work, so please stop by with your mower if you are still having problems."

Fantastic. I had used Reed's in the past to fix my leaf blower and was very happy with their service. Then when tuning up my lawn mower, I went somewhere else (forgetting about Reed's) and paid a small fortune. Reed's is very knowledgeable and the prices are reasonable. I absolutely would use them again.
