In early February of 2015, I decided to obtain some test kits from the Minnesota Department of Health to test my house for radon. I believe it was Radon awareness month and was informed that winter was the best time to test for radon due to closed house conditions. My tests came back very high - 16, which set me off on my journey to obtain RADON RELIEF. I contacted Will Rogers with Radon Relief with the intent of getting a second bid. But after talking with him for almost an hour on the initial evaluation, I decided he was the man for the job. He was very knowledgeable in all things Radon and his unassuming kind demeanor put me at ease, which would go in to help me greatly in mitigating my unique radon problem. From our first meeting, we quickly realized that I had a very unique and invasive radon problem. I had already been frantically testing my house before I met Will and my numbers were everywhere with electronic radon tester. It ranged from a low of 8 to 35 and there seem to be no pattern that I could pinned down. Will came in and diagnosed the issue coming from two possible places. One under the slab in my basement laundry room and the basement storage room underneath my foyer. But since readings were so high, Will became concerned about how effectively he could mitigate the Radon problem. So he contacted the Lead scientist at MDH. MDH came in and verified that I had very, very high radon levels, even more so underneath my house. So With MDH's additional help, we decided that the best and most effective mitigation of my deep Radon, would be a two prong solution. A traditional suction point was installed in my basement slab and the PVC pipe was routed directly through my master closet above, then through my attic above with fan, then directly out my roof. From that same PVC pipe installation, Radon Relief connected another PVC connection that was routed to a second suction point in my basement wall in the storage room. I had already sealed all the cracks in my basement walls with caulk myself previously as Radon Relief included limited amount of sealing work and I required a lot more. After all was said and done, we retested and results came down to 2 on someday and 1.2 on others, which is totally acceptable!...:) Now Winter is almost here, I am gearing up for another retest to make sure the Radon levels have kept. I am going to do one short term and one long term over the coming months at Will's suggestion. But I am confident the radon levels have been kept down. If not, I have no doubt, Will promised to come back and mitigate my issues free of charge due to his guarantee. Thank you, Will for providing my family with peace of my mind and RADON RELIEF! Break down of pricing - 1500 for traditional suction point, and 400 for the second basement wall suction point. This included all the piping that had to be routed out through my roof across 3 levels, and piping between the first and second suction point, which was also extensive.
Description of Work: Worked with me systematically/methodically to track down a significant and difficult radon issue for over a month. Radon Relief engaged the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) Lead Scientist when they realized that I had a difficult radon issue. Radon Relief/MDH worked with me to verify results and provided additional testing to track down my elusive radon issue. Result: Installed 2 suction points, one on the slab and one off the concrete basement wall. The project took 2 full days.

Will is a great guy. He was so helpful on the phone and came over as soon as he could. We have a 3 year old house and just needed a fan added to a passive system. Will walked me through all the cracks that need to be sealed in the basement to make sure no radon is leaking. We have 2 pipes in the attic and he wasn't sure which was for radon. He was very diligent about making sure he added the fan to the right pipe. Because he was so careful, he put the fan on the correct pipe and no extra holes were made by accident. I would HIGHLY recommend Will. Super friendly and did great work. Thanks Will!

Description of Work: Will installed a radon mitigation system in our basement. Very professional and great work. We could not have asked for a better experience. The system itself is unobtrusive and well-concealed. He made sure the fan was the right size to remove the radon, but still use the smallest amount of energy possible. He even let our 5 year old think that he was his 'assistant' for the day. Great all around!

Walt happened to be in my area and visited me within a day of contacting him. he pointed out things to help reduce radon levels in our home and did not try to sell us a thing. There was absolutely no charge for this advice. It was like having a good friend stop over to give advice. He did this so that I could try first lowering radon levels on my own with simple crack and seam caulking and sealing the sump pump. I'm still in the midst of this repair but wanted to offer a review for others to benefit by.

After reading an article about high levels of radon in Minnesota homes, we tested our basement and its level came back at 7.6 (above the EPA's recommended level). We contacted several different companies about installing a radon mitigation system and chose to go with Radon Relief. Will, the owner, came to our home and provided a fair estimate. He was also the one to install the system. Our radon level has dropped to 0.9 and we couldn't be happier! It was a tricky installation (as our basement ceiling is sheet rocked). He did a fabulous job concealing the system as well as sealing an area under a bathtub in the basement. Would definitely recommend!

He did a beautiful job and his work was stellar. He explained everything to me in writing and verbally. He was very attentive to detail. The system he installed is hardly visible. The system is very effective. He dropped the radon level from 9.2 down to 0.8 with the system he installed.

He was installing from 7 am to 8 pm. He is going to come back later to test for radon levels after our remodel is done.
Description of Work: Will came out during a big snow storm and worked all day. Very fair price and did a quality job. He really worked hard to figure out the best place to install.

I would highly recommend this provider! We had originally scheduled a different provider to do this service during a larger remodeling project. This other radon company declined to do the job over email the day they were scheduled to complete the mitigation. They left me hanging. I was in a panic until I found Will Rogers. Looking through his website (www.radonrelief.net) - I saw he had even installed a mitigation system on This Old House. He was very knowledgeable and experienced, and completed the job without any great difficulty. He came with very little advanced notice, and worked on memorial day weekend so that we could keep our project on time. He provided us with prompt estimates and documentation via email also. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for radon services.
Description of Work: Will put a radon mitigation system into our house on short notice. He had to go through a difficult area with the system. He performed follow up testing as well.

He tested for radon in my house. I had elevated radon in my basement. He drilled a hole in the foundation a put a pipe up through the roof and placed a fan in the attic to suck up the radon through the roof. He sealed up some places so radon couldn't get in. He had to be terribly frustrated through the whole thing but he was as sweet as pie. He got rid of the radon and came back to make sure it was at government standard level.
Description of Work: He tested for radon in my house, found some and got rid of it. He came back to check-up to make sure the problem was taken care of.
