Generally, QWEST is pretty good.  Their okay for communication and services.  They were down the other day and were very good about it when I called.  They explained that they were having some satellite problems.  Then I called back later and they explained how to get back online.  So, I did what they said and it came back online so it was good.  I've had to have QWEST come out to the house a couple of times.  Their service calls have been really good.  The guy that set me up with internet was excellent.  I have no complaints in the last couple of years.  I will continue to use their services over anyone else in this area.

We have struggled with poor quality Internet service for months with Qwest unable to improve our service. My husband could not work at home because he was kicked off the Net so much. We have had several reps out to the house and they cannot improve our service so we are switching. Internet would stop working some weekends so our kids could not do homework easily (all online now). The last technician disabled all our Cat 5 lines which means we can not download any movies. The wireless only worked in the office. Lastly, when they upgraded our modem, they said this would be at no cost. $100 showed up on our bill.

Called Qwest because phone line was acting up and going dead. The service rep was quite rude and wouldn't answer all my questions. Also the wait was 25 minutes and then I was told I would need to call back and I might get an $85 charge even if "I didn't see anyone come in to the home to do the work". I have been unhappy with my service with Qwest for a while both in service and quality of product. Eventually the line was cleared without any explanation and the when I called to report the cleared line (as I was told to do originally), I never got a service rep after 35 minutes!

Getting Qwest set up was a huge deal. I spent lots of time on hold on the phone. When my first bill arrived, it was all screwed up and included all sorts of set up fees that I wasn't told about. They were good about removing the excess charges. There really aren't a lot of reputable phone companies. We have been happy with the customer service so we are sticking with them.

Do not use this company! I spent hours each day on the phone with them and they still couldn't help. I had internet service, but my qwest email account wasn't working. It took 3 weeks till I had access to my email. I am going to cancel my service and go with a better company.

Terrible customer service. Spent over 5 hours on the phone with them on hold and trying to diagnose why my internet was running so slow. Spent over 12 hours on three different occasions waiting for their tech to show up, and then he didn't. It wasn't until the fourth scheduled time that he finally showed up. The guy that showed up was really nice and knowledgeable, but admitted that the company he worked for was highly disorganized and he'd just about had it with them as well. He figured out that even though I live in St. Louis Park, I was too far away from the tower (or wherever the DSL originates from) to get the fast service that I'd been paying for for the past two years! He did a couple things to the phone lines outside and then had Qwest bump me down to the slowest possible service so at least I wouldn't have to be paying for something that I couldn't even get. He basically told me that I'd probably want to switch to Comcast, which I did, and has been totally awesome thus far. Qwest is a joke. Like I said, heinous customer service and bad communication between departments. Thanks for wasting tons of my time.

I ordered on-line. A box with the supplies arrived a few days later, and it was very easy to hook up myself. The only thing I didn't like was that it didn't work right away. They had set up a start time that was a few days after the box arrived. Once connected we have been very satisfied. The speed is excellent, and way cheaper than cable broadband.

The pricing is great, and they haven't tried to give us long distance calling. We have never had a problem with this service. The phone works well, and the line has never been dead.

I spend a total of 4.5 hours over three weeks talking to individuals at Qwest. After three weeks and speaking to a representative on a Sunday for 40 minutes I thought I had the problem solved. On Monday morning I received a call from a representative telling me there was a problem. I asked to speak to a supervisor and the Representative said to me "when all is said and done and you have spoken to the supervisor you will be right back with me with the same problem." At this point I did speak to the supervisor who asked me the same questions as the other three representatives had the prior weeks. At no time did anyone apologize or say they could expedite the whole process. When this supervisor put me on hold for 15 minutes I hung up and called the other phone line company.

I had Qwest for Telcom up until about 6 months ago. They were fine in general. I never had any voice related concerns. The only problem I had was when they randomly disabled the DSL service I had through a 3rd party. It took me 4 days and endless phone calls to get them to fix it because they kept blaming the 3rd party ISP. It turned out it really was Qwest's fault. Some tech had just disabled for some reason. Beyond that one incident, they were fine for day-to-day stuff. Telcom companies aren't really something you have a choice about, so you're kind of stuck but always good to get reviews about them.

Overall, we have been happy with Qwest's DSL service. While it is not as fast as cable Internet service or the T1 line I use at work, it is very fast compared to dial up and priced about right for the service. We sometimes experience the inability to make a connection. Also, the service is not as Mac friendly as Earthlink.

Ah, Qwest, how much do I hate having to do business with you? Let me count the ways. I can't get reliable DSL to save my life, your tech support doesn't know what it's doing, and I have an expensive contract from which I am unable to extricate myself. Why did I give up my cable Internet? I used it for three years without incident. Time Warner, I'm coming back....

I called Qwest first to drop off the phone line, so Xcel could put it underground. Qwest took down my information and someone called me back within a day. The tech dropped off the line the next day. There was a little confusion about hooking up the line. Qwest was suppose to call the following day to do the work, but showed up a day early. The tech also didn't know what needed to be done, so I explained it to him and he had the work done in an hour. Overall, I good experience, but they need to work on their communication skills.

I've never had a worse cust. srvc experience. Not enough room here to explain the total 7 hrs of time spent on ph with Qwest in last 3 wks. Prior to moving from old home, we called to transfer the srvc, etc., and were issued a ph#. The ph line at the new home went inside the house and Qwest needed to complete the installation. As our bldr predicted, the very rude tech. Didn't know how to complete the install and wouldn't wait 10 mins for the elec. Contractor to show him. We called to complain and set new service appt & Qwest had no record of us & claimed we didn't have a serv. appt that day (then why did the tech show up?). Worse, we were informed our promised ph # wasn't available, then later was, then it wasn't. So, after telling the world what the new # would be, we had to change again! Promised 3 mos free svc, but 1st bill doesn't show, of course. Cust. svc. Is org. And executed miserably. W/o fail, diff. Answers are given by diff. Reps. No consistency, no follow-through. Avoid Q.

I SPENT HOURS ON THE TELEPHONE TRYING TO GET MY STATEMENT CHARGES CORRECTED. 1ST Q WOULD SEND ME TO THE INTERNET DEPART, THEN THE SHIPPING DEPT, & I TALKED WITH SUPERVISORS. Q EVEN ACCUSED ME OF LYING ABOUT THE MODEM RETURN, EVEN W/ UPS VERIFYING IT WAS SIGNED FOR IN DENVER. THE ACTUAL INTERNET SERVICE WAS FAST, HOWEVER THE HEADACHE OF DEALING W/ Q CUSTOMER SERVICE DEPTS WAS TERRIBLE & STRESSFUL. I'VE SINCE SWITCHED ALL MY SERVICE TO MCLEOD & THEY DEALT QUICKLY WITH THE 1 ERROR ON MY FIRST STATEMENT & I PAY LESS THEN I DID W/ Q! IF YOU CHOOSE Q- JUST HOPE YOU DON'T NEED TO GET YOUR CHARGES CORRECTED.

I AM NOT HAPPY WITH MY EXPERIENCE WITH THIS COMPANY AT ALL. AFTER ONE MONTH I AM STUCK WITH A $350 BILL AND MY INTERNET IS NOT FUNCTIONING. I HAVE NO ACCESS TO MY E-MAIL AND AFTER MANY CALLS TO THE COMPANY LITTLE HAS BEEN DONE TO FIX THE PROBLEM. WHILE THE COMPANY HAS SENT OUT PEOPLE TO TRY TO REMEDY THE SITUATION, IT HAS NOT HELPED. AFTER A NUMBER OF RESCHEDULING EFFORTS, THE TECHNICIAN SHOWED UP, ONLY TO TELL US WE HAD BEEN SIGNED UP FOR EMAIL AND DSL BY MISTAKE, SINCE MAC USERS ARE NO LONGER SUPPORTED BY QWEST. THE TECHNICIAN WAS ALSO RETICENT TO INSTALL A PHONE JACK BEYOND THE FIRST FLOOR. SO ONLY ONE PHONE JACK WAS INSTALLED. WHEN WE CALLED TO CANCEL, I WAS GIVEN THE RUN AROUND (INCLUDING ONE CUSTOMER SERVICE AGENT TELLING ME THAT I DID NOT EVEN EXIST AS A CUSTOMER IN THEIR FILES, BUT LATER COMMENTING THAT MAYBE IT WAS JUST A COMPUTER PROBLEM HE WAS HAVING) AND TOLD THAT ALTHOUGH THEY HAD NOW CANCELLED OUR SERVICE, I WOULD STILL RECEIVE A BILL AND I WOULD HAVE TO CALL AGAIN TO GET THE CHARGES REVERSED AFTER I RECEIVED THAT BILL. I HAVE SINCE SENT AN EMAIL TO QWEST CUSTOMER SERVICE ASKING FOR EVERYTHING TO BE CANCELLED (ALTHOUGH WE WILL OF COURSE PAY FOR THE SINGLE PHONE JACK INSTALLATION). I SIGNED UP WITH COMCAST THIS MORNING FOR MY LOCAL, LONG DISTANCE, INTERNET AND CABLE. THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS STELLAR.

ONLY COMPLAINT IS WE WERE TOLD THEY WOULD BE AT OUR HOME SOMETIME BETWEEN 8-5. WE HAD TO WAIT AT HOME THE ENTIRE DAY FOR THEM TO SHOW UP. THE TECH WAS RUNNING LATE BECAUSE OF ANOTHER JOB AND DIDN'T MAKE IT UNTIL 6 P.M. HE DID CALL THOUGH, AND WAS VERY PROFESSIONAL.

THEY HAVE LOOKED AT WHAT WE WERE USING WITH OUR PHONE SERVICE AND RECOMMENDED PACKAGES MORE FITTING TO OUR NEEDS. BY GETTING RID OF SERVICES WE WERE NOT USING IT SAVED US MONEY! OUR WIRELESS IS $40 A MONTH, LONG DISTANCE IS $0.05 A MINUTE, UP TO $20 MAX. IF THE MINUTES WE USE ARE LESS THAN $20 THEY ONLY CHARGE FOR WHAT WAS USED. OUR LOCAL SERVICE INCLUDES VOICE MAIL, CALL FORWARDING TO THE CELL PHONE, ETC.

AFTER RECEIVING MY 3RD DISCONNECTION NOTICE IN THE LAST YEAR, I CALLED THEM AGAIN...I WAS PROMISED THIS. THE MAN I SPOKE TO TOLD ME I COULD DISCONNECT ANY TIME WITH NO FEE. THIS WAS THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE WE EVER RECEIVED! WE WAITED FOR A TOTAL OF 4 DAYS TO HAVE THE LINES INSTALLED, UNABLE TO LEAVE HOME BECAUSE WE HAD TO WAIT FOR THE SERVICE PEOPLE. QWEST NEVER TOLD US THAT THERE WERE PROBLEMS AFFECTING THE INSTALLATION, BUT CONTINUOUSLY HAD US WAITING HOURS ON END FOR INSTALLERS WHO NEVER SHOWED UP. THEN, AFTER THE LINES HAD FINALLY BEEN INSTALLED, THEY RETURNED TO BURY THE OUTSIDE LINES AND CUT OUR CABLE INTERNET SERVICE! MORE WAITING ENSUED! ON TOP OF THAT, MY HUSBAND RETURNED HOME TO FIND THE MAN WHO WAS BURYING THE CABLE URINATING IN OUR YARD! STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY (CONSIDER AT&T INSTEAD)!
